The big picture is....WE CANT DEFEND. There has been no change in that situation ever since Mark Warburton has been at the Club. Ok the manager and coaching staff have now got us playing excellent quality football going forward with plenty of flair and fighting spirit in our game but this is ruined by shoddy defending.
Derby and Millwall (no world beaters them) hold on for draws against West Brom .......We fold.
I was at the Bristol City match a Fixture which our superb forward play should have produced a win by a cricket score...but what happened? two cocks ups and we end up with no points.
I will repeat what I have said many times before. Our manager throughout his entire managerial career does not believe in establishing a solid defence as a foundation. He is Cavalier without a shadow of a doubt.
Its all so frustrating really because with a reasonable solid defensive set up Automatic promotion would be a genuine possibility.

I don't think the Warbs haters will surface just yet but the worry is that with key players injured the squad is then exposed as a work in progress and not ready for top 6 the same defensive issues were there 2 seasons ago positioning and lack of awareness begs to ask do we have a defensive coach as same players are making similar errors these defeats may be a blessing and we come back stronger let's hope but warbs football is a mile better than what we have had for a good few seasons It always seems to be that injuries occur to the same position. You either lose all your keepers, all your centre forwards etc. We have lost out at left back and now midfield. We thought that we had sorted our wing back issues, but Wallace's injury is long term and then just as Sam McCallum settled, he too injures a hamstring. Our right back situation is at best, a work in progress... We were so pleased to secure Field and Johansen, but now both out - hopefully Amos can be eased in and Dozzell can fulfil his potential. I think your point about players making the same mistakes is a good one. It raises the question whether or not certain players are capable of being coached out of their short comings. Not picking on Kakay specifically, but the goal was down to Chair losing possession again, but Kakay then lost his player in the same way he has done several times before. The coaches must be telling him because it is crystal, but when players do not respond, there must be questions about whether or not they are going to make the grade. I think we gambled on a lot of players over the last 12 months, many have paid off handsomely and will be the lifeblood of this club for the near future. But not unreasonably, others like Hamalainen, Bonne & Kakay will either produce a poor return, or are going to take longer to get there. But it was only a short while ago that we were all amazed at the ability of the team to see out narrow victories, we seemed to have come such a long way. The fragility is such though that it is hard to compensate for individual errors and over the last three league games we have been severely punished. Dickie, Jordy, Seny, Chair and Kakay all culpable, but perhaps the difference is that earlier in the season, it was just a case that we were scoring more than we were conceding. Last night, although we were reasonably comfortable until 70, we never looked like troubling them at the top half. Not helped by our woeful balls out of defence. But our balls out of defence and midfield have been our strength, so perhaps in the end, just fatigue and time to move on.

Niko is having a decent season for a fairly good LA Galaxy team. (The MLS has improved in leaps and bounds)
Once their season ends in November, wouldn't bet against him contributing and playing well.

Furlong looked great, as Ricky pointed out.
How frustrating, 1 million quid!

Terrible defensively, Chair needs to be loaned out or left on the bench for a while. He is not up to this level IMO. Should have made changes second half, but Toastman once again in dreamland. Still we are back to our old self by throwing games away, and that is kinda emotional. I am always unhappy after a defeat - but at least your subsequent posts put a smile on my face!

Not sure why, but such comments by our inimitable Rangersman lighten the mood.

Glad to help chaps, just my opinion. Why is it you never give your opinion when we are playing well. How about forming your own board and call it the Pessimistic Rs forum?

It's not really a question of not giving an opinion when we are playing well but more why only give an opinion when we lose, regardless of how we played. I would not say we have played badly in the last 3 games, in fact in my opinion we have played pretty well especially against B. City and Bournemouth apart from a couple of individual errors. If we play badly but win welcome silence will be resumed.

As Warburton said we played far better against Bournemouth and Bristol City and came away with nothing but picked up 3 points last night with a no better than average performance. That's the name of the game. Meanwhile free scoring WBA hit another 4 at Cardiff which I think puts our narrow self inflicted defat there into perspective.
