I see that the authorities have opened up the possibility of safe standing trials starting in January with clubs having to apply for approval soon.
Having read a summary of the requirements I cannot see that this will enable larger crowds and would also cost clubs a significant amount to install the barriers needed to make seats convertible either way. So in the current financial climate I cannot see us adopting safe standing which is a great pity.

Very interesting views. I guess all are content to continue to suffer the lack of leg space in seating at Loftus Road.

Being 6 feet 2 tall with long legs I really hope we get standing back asap so I can watch in comfort.

That's ok for you.to say wembley, but I'm only 5 feet 4 and if you stand in front of me I will not see a thing.

Can't beat having a discussion with yourself - at least you have the last word.

I'm great thanks - just sad the message board has sunk to the odd one or two posts a day apart from score predictions. Maybe a win tonight will get a bit of a response.

This thread confused me a lot. Thought we had a ringer lol No not a ringer but an old timer and long time poster with a weird sense of humour. Sorry for any confusion but it is a serious topic that seems to have little interest on this board.

Long over due. Terracing can be safe if managed right. Bring it back!!

Parts of Loftus Rd are standing by default at the moment, just not safe standing. Bring it on. Better safe than unsafe.

I cant wait for safe standing to come in. I love my seats but I am constantly fidgeting and annoying the bloke in front of me as my knees dig in to his back. There are always going to be issues with line of sight as tall people block out the view but as its only going to be safe standing in limited parts of the ground I don't see if as an issue.
We should make it clear that this isn't going back o the old days with crows being able to surge but rail seating where you can either stand or sit and will give you more personal space.

At 70 standing for that length of time is not something I welcome. But at 6ft 1 not getting my knees crushed is not something I enjoy either.

I think its rail seating so there is an option to sit or stand. The only downside is that if you want to sit and others are standing around you then you view wouldn't be much. I think it also in parts of the ground anyway. I feel you pain being tall myself, thats why I have an aisle seat and get shouted at by the stewards a lot as my legs are on the stairs
