How do you think you will feel? Especially if the goal is decisive.... I hope he plays well, but I hope Scotland do not go too far in the competition, we need him confident but rested for August.

I'll feel fine but as an Aussie he should be in the green and gold. So a bit torn about this one. Just hope he comes through the tournament unscathed, scores heaps of goals and has maximum confidence come the first game of the season!

What a great question. 1. Gutted to see Scotland score against us 2. Happy to see a QPR man on the score sheet 3. Gutted to have an Aussie score against us 4. Happy for a QPR player to be on a high

You're mixing Australia up with Norwich mate! I was thinking of the 12th Man when Bill and Tony were having a dig at each other and Tony called the Gold, Canary Yellow and that set Bill off.

Looking for a dykes hat trick in a 4-3 loss to Czech

Brilliant second goal for the Czechs. Dykes could've had a hattrick but hasn't. Not because of poor play from him but the defence has been superb.

Just seen Dykes dive when he realised he was too far forward to receive the cross. Not impressed

Dykes could've had 5 goals in that game. How Scotland lost it God only knows. They were slightly better than the Czechs but their finishing let them down and also the fantastic defensive effort by the Czechs.

Turkey had an off day against Italy but Wales should look out for the rebound.
Scotland at home should be doing better and playing more than one up front. A goal from the half way line - you can say it was a brilliant strike but also can say what the **** was Scotland keeper doing. Maybe Kelly has a chance soon!
Dykes should have scored at least one but I would have thought that Grumpy Old Man(ager) Clarke would have leant by now that playing Dykes as a lone striker does not work - even in the Championship never mind an international. Put a Charlie type player upfront with Dykes and they will both do better.
I can see the Scots team and result being repeated in their last 2 games unless Clarke rests some once they are out. Good news if the Scots go out would be Dykes getting a rest before pre-season, bad news would be if it dents his confidence that had built up at the end of last season.

With this 3 games grouping, it is very hard to come back from an opening defeat - but not impossible with 4 third places qualifying. Perhaps Turkey can do it but I doubt Scotland can now. It makes for very cautious opening games though. As for the Scotland game, playing Dykes up front on his own was a mistake (as we well know), Scotland started the second half much better with Adams alongside Dykes, but then came the howler and no way back. What surprised me was how Marshall seemed to escape commentator criticism. Can you imagine this message board if Joe Lumley had done that? Marshall had no reason to be that far forward - all those years of waiting and then an individual error like that.....so upsetting for so many and typical of what tends to happen when excitement reaches fever pitch.

Well tonight is the night. To be honest I do not really care much who wins but it would be great to see Dykes score. I doubt it will add any extra interest in him in the transfer market so it will just be great to see a QPR scorer in a major international game. Quiz time - who (and when) was the last QPR player to score (a) in an international for any country? and (b) for England? Otherwise it seems my team Turkey are on the way out unless some strange results occur. Not that I'm Turkish but I thought I would support them as they were good enough to take BOS off our hands without him running down his contract so saved us some money and maybe even paid a fee. So I'll stay as Turkish Ali until the Euro's end then hand this account back to Champion for the start of the new league season

England were so poor, I actually found myself wanting Dykes to score the winner for Scotland!
I'm a fan of patient build up play but we were so slow going forward, Scotland had all the time in the world and a lot of the game was spent with Sterling, Mount and Foden trying to beat 3 or 4 defenders on the edge of the box.

Me and my wife watched the game and although thought England would win, we had a £2 dabble on Dykes first goalscorer at 14-1 , almost come off at one point 😊 England were pretty poor for spells of the game, very lethargic and Scotland deserved there point I thought. Harry Kane looks very much out of sorts but it’s always a gamble dropping him as he is a great goalscorer usually, tough call.

Southgate complaining about Booing of his multi- talented, ludicrously paid young squad is a bit rich. What did he expect when they turn in such a dreadful lacklustre performance. As well as the Scots played there is no way they would have even got a point against an on form England team. Just hope Kane and co get it together against the Czechs and make us feel proud of them again.

If we win our game tomorrow night and win the group, we will draw Germany, France or Portugal. I cannot see us progressing if that is the case, although of course, knockout is different to the group stage. Scotland were fearless, and England seemed more concerned about the potential of losing, even though they only needed a point. But I think that England's chances are greater if we finish second in Group D and then face a Group E team, so a draw may be the best result. But we are not currently looking good enough.

I’d rather play a better team. We don’t cope well with banana skin teams, better to go down valiantly against a whopper than capitulate against a minnow

Of course if England win they play the next game at Wembley - question is would that be an advantage. In theory yes but more fan expectation and pressure could be counter productive.

What can I say about England and Southgate? In the 70's & 80's the Italian team was full on 9 man defences and get a goal and shut up shop for the rest of the game, Meanwhile England used to attack and try hard and beat some teams.
Forward to 2021, Italy are swashbuckling and scoring goals for fun and England are trying to score a quick goal and shut up shop. 2 goals in 3 games and 3 clean sheets.
For all the attacking talent Southgate has at his disposal, they play boring defensive shit that puts everyone to sleep. OI mean when you win a corner you try and score, not play it back to your own goalkeeper FFS. And inevitably, give the ball away.
Kane looks like a tired 2k per week tryer, not the player he is at Spuds. Perhaps his 100 million pound move to City is sapping his wallet err, energy.
Sorry but I think the Germans will smash England and that would be a shame. Unless England and Southgate actually play an attacking plan for once.
