Gareth Ainsworth is expected to be named as QPR's permanent manager this week, writes Dave Kidd.
The club's wealthy owners Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal have been impressed by Ainsworth's spell as caretaker since the sacking of Iain Dowie three weeks ago.
Rangers' owners have put the brakes on player spending during the January transfer window and Briatore will publicly insist that Ainsworth, 35, has the final say in team selection.

So the solution is simple (if simplistic!): Ainsworth should say "Thanks, but no thanks. Not today. Not now."
