Millwall pegged Sheff Weds back but we need Rotherham to be pegged back. Everyone downwards from and including including Preston in 11th place on 36 points (at half time) could potentially end up in the relegation fight. Totally inconsistent results throughout the league, teams with games in hand. covid impacts - anything can happen. 3 wins in a row and a team is smiling, 3 losses and and they are in a mess. No point just looking at the clubs below us and around us as there are teams above on bad runs sinking slowly but surely down the league. Long way to go still,- probably will go to the last day of the season and a record high number of points needed to stay up. Simple solution - ignore what other teams are doing , don't depend on other teams and just keep winning our games. With games coming twice a week (or likely more for some clubs) squad strength will be important and I think our transfer window activity has helped us in that respect. Exactly!

thefishy.co.uk/formtable.php?table=2Ironic that our run goes along with Rotherham also 13 points in last six games and Sheff Weds 12 points in last 6.( 2 of the bottom three having a run exactly at the same time as us) Huddersfield 2 points from last six, Birmingham in big trouble one win in 10 and Barnsley no win in 5 as 75 mentioned on the other thread having a mini slump. Along with Wycombe that appear to be doomed.

And any of those teams on a good run, including us, could have another slump. That's the beauty of the Championship.
The Premier League, on the other hand, seems to be a different story. There is an 8 point gap between 17th and 18th, not sure I've ever seen that before. Even Sheff Utd, who've won 3 out of their last 5 (after 0 out of their fist 17) are still 12 points from safety. Could be the first season in the Prem where relegation is done & dusted by Easter,

The Championship is a joy.
The most competitive league.
Gents, what are your predictions on who drops?
For me, Luton, Coventry and Wycombe. Perhaps Brum.

I think Wycombe are a given, 12 points isa mountain to climb for them now. As for the other 2, it can only be a guess but I'd say Birmingham & Huddersfield on current form but that could change at any time.

Well you have to say Sheff Weds are better than their placing with the 6 point deduction. Forest and Derby will have enough to not get involved.
I just hope our run of form continues until after we have played Wycombe Wycombe have gone for sure.
It’s funny because some of the teams we mention of possible candidates have points chances this weekend as on Saturday there’s these three fixtures Birmingham City v Luton Town Cardiff City v Coventry City Huddersfield Town v Wycombe Wanderers
I guess we would like draws in these three and draws in these two games below on Tuesday or even away wins would be decent.
Rotherham United v Cardiff City Sheffield Wednesday v Wycombe Wanderers

The Championship is a joy. The most competitive league. Gents, what are your predictions on who drops? For me, Luton, Coventry and Wycombe. Perhaps Brum. I think that this year it is pretty much a lottery. Teams are unable to rely on home crowds and as a result for some teams it seems easier to play away from home. But teams go on good runs and then poor runs even more so than usual. Some teams have struggled to come back from training ground Covid closures, others like Rotherham seem better for the rest. In Wycombes case, they lost any momentum they had and now look too far adrift - sadly for Gareth, but he has worked miracles. If Sheffield Wednesday continue their managerless purple patch, they will be fine - but I do not that think they will and the six point deductions will be their downfall. I think the third one will be a club that just gets caught in a poor run at the season finale. At the moment that could be one of 10 clubs. I think that Luton, Coventry, Barnsley and Birmingham fall into that group, but Coventry looked decent yesterday but lacking fire power. The Birmingham manager claims that they are consistently the better team but just unlucky - we kmow how that feels. But for me then Wycombe, Sheffield Wednesday and mabe Birmingham?

Rotherham’s game in hand of us, they lost it 1-2 to Cardiff great result, we need to do the same Saturday Rangers. Sadly Sheff Weds good form continues beating basement boys Wycombe who will finish 24th.

End of the day, we're 5 points and 6 places above the relegation zone, no teams have any games in hand over us, we have a game in hand over 5 teams below us. It's all good.

Either way its shaping up to be an interesting run in. Although I have no like or dislike for any of the teams below us, I do want to see Forest go down just because of the money they have spent and their disregard for FFP, they are not going to be penalised any time soon so relegation will do for me

That would have kept us in touch with Cardiff kept Sheff Wed and Rotherham down and give Wycombe a glimmer of hope. Anyway for Relegation - not that I am biased (lie) but any 3 from Forest, Derby, Millwall, and Sheff. Wednesday will do for me. Pity all 4 cannot go down to be honest but if one of them break FFP rules enough maybe all 4 could go. Pity about Wycombe though. Where they are as a club now in some ways reminds me of where QPR were when I started - but Wycombe play good football so could still pull off a miracle but I fear they are doomed. Not biased either, but for me, its Millwall, Millwall and Millwall.

Oh sorry, can I add Norwich to that fantasy relegation list.
Epic point deduction for them, based on a spring time event of approximately 35 years ago at Carrow road.

Brentford top of the league and on an amazing good run in the league - due to end soon so I hope they beat Barnsley at the weekend and then we can be the ones to turn them over next week - double delight Found myself doing a 180 degrees 3-4 years back on the Bees. Pulling for them for decades, but then their fans became irrationally toxic towards the Rs. Wistful for the old Griffin Park though. OK perhaps the 4 pubs thing influenced matters.

Brentford are my grandads team so have a bit of a soft spot from them but I hate the fact that the announcer refuses to say our name at matches. I do admire they way they have gone about building the club over the last decade or so, I thnik they will go up this season and survive in the Prem but only ever be a lower Prem team, like us they simply dont have the stadium, fans or backing to ever be a permanent top 10 club.

Putting aside my sentiments above, despite the stadium obstacle (they do have room for expansion apparently by report) my ceiling for them is similar to Palace.
This is based on amazing shrewd management over several years.

Must say I don't have any time for West London football teams other than QPR. I hope we give the Bees a good hiding!

The three real crunch games for me in the next 2-3 weeks are these .. Rotherham away, don’t lose it. Birmingham away don’t lose it. Barnsley home, don’t lose it. Wycombe home win it. Of course every game is a big game but if we can pick up say minimum 5 points from these or even 7 I’m sure we will be ok this year with the other fixtures we have. Two tough games with Brentford and Bournemouth coming up.

Not a bad start to day Forest only drew.
Now we need Derby loss, Millwall loss, Huddersfield draw or loss. Birmingham draw or loss and Coventry loss please.

So far not to bad, Cov 2 down, Birmgham 1 down , Millwall 1 down , Derby were winning 2-0 but 2-1 half time and Hudds were 2-0 over Wycombe but 2-1 now. Another Boro Goal and Wycombe one would be very handy, over to you Mr Warnock

Not bad at all, Birmingham loss ✅ , Coventry loss ✅ , Millwall won ❎ , Derby won ❎, Huddersfield loss ✅ Apart from Derby and Millwall a pretty perfect day when not playing ....... Millwall will probably end up safe, shame as can’t bear them and even though Wycombe won ,still think they have to much to do, better Huddersfield lost.
Of the Seven teams below us have two games in hand of three of them and one game in hand of another three. As do Rotherham.

Barnsley current 1 up at Brentford, I guess a draw wouldnt be a bad result for us, kind of keeps Barnsley in the mix and dents the bees confidence.

2 -0 Barnsley at Brentford, not sure if that’s good or bad but Barnsley nearly on 40 points as Preston and Millwall are probably all going to be ok this year..

Looking ahead to Tuesday a Stoke and Boro home win would be handy and Cardiff win at Luton. Wycombe’s a tricky one we don’t really want them to get two wins on the bounce so maybe draw ?
Stoke City v Sheffield Wednesday Middlesbrough v Huddersfield Town Wycombe Wanderers v Derby County Luton Town v Cardiff City
