So Whiteman eventually signed for Preston for £1.5m rising to £2m. Would have been a great signing for QPR, but he lives in Greater Manachester and had no desire to move to West London. He will replace Pearson who has been a great player for Preston. Horrible to play against. No doubt Whiteman will now master the dark arts of being a Preston North End player, timewasting, feigning injury and complaining to the ref. We have a loan striker, a loan central defender, albeit injured, so please find the right box to box and perhaps buy him? Pretty important imho - but Mowatt looks like he may opt for Cardiff and we are not linked to anyone else as yet. Pritchard is a risk, but presumably would be cover for Chair, but would need to take a big wage drop to join QPR permanently. He is one of Huddersfield's highest paid (still on Prem wages) and they are keen to offload him. He is as pospular with Huddersfield supporters as Joel Lynch & Jordan Cousens combined. Expensive and rarely fit. If he joins us, I hope he uses it as a launch pad, but as his problem has been his knee, he has lost the swivel and quick turn. Meanwhile, pretty quiet on the Bright front and we are half way through the window. Would not put it pass his agent to hold out to the elevnth hour to have the club over a barrell.

Pritchard is one I think would not look at, I know he was a big value signing and now going on the cheap. Huddersfield they say he has been poor and also had the big injury. They seem to think will never be the same again? A big risk could go either way.

I do think though that we should be looking at players like Scott Twine. The Championship may be too soon, but a loan back to Swindon for this season would work. We need to be buying plaers like Bonne from Orient and not for huge sums once at at Charlton. Twine turned Newport's season around. Now is the time to tie him up - see what I did there?
