I guess it depends if your glass is half full or half empty?
Half Full
We held a Prem team for 90 minutes and could have beaten them.
Our midfield matched them and our players gave their all.
We made good chances.
Dieng, Dickie &Chair
We now have Charlie Austin.
Jordy De Wijs is signing with an option to purchase (if any good) – he will help on the left.
Kakay is returning for the right
Barbet had a better game.
Thomas looked useful and needs a run of games.
Hard to blame the manager today when key chances are missed like that.
The board are trying to bring in players and are prepared to spend on loans who break our pay scale. The team and the supporters badly need a lift.
Half Empty
It was our strongest team, it was Fulham’s squad team and they have been off with Covid, so Fulham were hardly match fit.
I think if we had played all night we would not have scored.
Bonne, Dykes & BOS have all missed exceptional chances in the last two matches – we cannot afford to do so.
Kane cannot cross a ball, even when his opponent today was very dazed. Before that, Bryant showed what a an attacking full back can do.
Hamalianen looked very weak today and lost his player for the second goal. His crossing is not much better than Kane’s. He is not the answer at left back. Wallace is supposed to be first choice left back – OMG! The service from the wing backs is awful, today Bright was playing wing back!
Cameron is shot and should have gone off at half time – he looked knackered and was on a booking. He should not be captain.
Dykes may still make it, but I don’t think Bonne will. Dykes looks out of form, very low on confidence. Bonne looks clueless and gets the basics wrong.
Having seen Kelman and Bettache today, I suspect they can both do with playing regularly out on loan. But I thought the substitutions were too late. Sadly, Bettache lost his man for the first goal.
No sign of a box to box dynamo – oh how we need one in the second half of games when we start to tire.
We could have done without an extra 30 minutes when we have Luton rearranged for Tuesday. Ok if we had won because it would have given us a lift, but to lose…..
Both Luton and Wycombe won today, with Wycombe scoring four!
It will be an empty glass if we cannot get the superior resources through the door this window.
