Why would Tom Carroll not take a new contract then be willing to go to Derby where the restrictions limit contracts to 1 year and are subject to a salary cap. Can only assume we offered a very low salary.

I’m pleased about that, not worth the money.

Some goo d news hopefully www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/johansen-set-to-finalise-move-from-fulham-to-qpr?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=socialnetworkJohansen set to finalise move from Fulham to QPR By West London Sport 23/07/2021 Embed from Getty Images QPR are close to finalising a deal to sign Stefan Johansen from Fulham. The two clubs have been in negotiations for several weeks but the deal was held up by the change of manager at Fulham, where Marco Silva recently replaced Scott Parker. Rangers are set to pay around £600,000 for the Norwegian midfielder, who was outstanding while on loan with them during the second half of last season. Johansen, 30, joined Fulham from Celtic in 2016. He has a year remaining on his contract at Craven Cottage.

Not quite the 15,000 quid gift of Rodnee, but still greatly appreciated.
Cheers Fulham!

One of our best transfer windows in the last 21 years. This is a squad of players wanting to play to prove something. Not a list of players looking for a last big pay cheque. Good age group too. Charlie at 32 is still up for it. How I would have loved him at the Wellington Phoenix next season but he's at HQ instead. Good. Now to get a jersey.

Eddie Nketiah being linked … wow 🤩 You're kidding me, right? No bloody chance is that true. The Sun reports new Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira is eyeing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah and Nice forward Kasper Dolberg as primary transfer targets as he settles in to his new role. Both young players are up for sale for around £20million, but Vieira is likely to only take one of the two.

Interesting that I heard many at Arsenal think Nketiah's progress has "slowed" and he is falling down the pecking order enough that he might not make their PL squad. Question is do they send him out on loan again as they with Leeds or cash in on him if anyone is interested in paying a risky fee for him. Would certainly be a good loan for us and with our improved squad maybe we can attract some good quality loans.

Absolutely agree with you about having him with us but I think the loan / purchase fee will be more than we could afford, unless they want Kane in exchange?

Squad complete...bar one? Genuine competition in every position, with only Kane and Hamalainen perhaps surplus to requirements for now. Some young talent for the future, who would benefit more from loan spells if we can arrange it for them, than B team/U23 football.
G: Dieng, Archer. Barnes or Walsh to go out on loan, the other is 3rd choice for now. RB/RWB: Odubajo, Kakay. Kane to be offloaded if possible, or sent out on loan if not. LB/LWB: Wallace, McCallum. Hamalainen to be sold if we get a decent offer, or sent out on loan if not. CB: Barbet, Dickie, De Wijs, Dunne. Masterson, Gubbins to be sent out on loan as Kakay and Wallace can both play in this position. CM: Ball, Field, Amos, Johansen, Dozzell. Bettache, Owens to be sent out on loan. AM: Chair, Willock, Thomas, Adomah. Shodipo already out on loan. F: Austin, Dykes. Kelman to be sent out on loan. We also have Alfa, Ramkilde and Lloyd who probably aren't ready for first team action yet. Maybe 1-2 of them can go out on loan?
The missing piece (if any) is perhaps a third option up front, assuming that Kelman would be better off playing L1 football for a few months/season before challenging for a regular first team place. If so, a loan for a PL player who possess a good deal of pace would be more than useful.
Only injuries and covid can get in our way of a strong push for a top-six place me thinks.

Nifty overview Salts. Incredibly versatile and deep squad. Especially the last line!

The player on the right shows up everywhere at the last second. He'd be a great signing.

www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/40841/town-closing-in-on-carrollTom Carroll off to Ipswich it seems. Bidwell could be off to Middlesbrough to join Warnock. Bidwell played in a back 3 for Swansea on Saturday and was man of the match - he has waited a long time to break into that side, but I would see him more as a winger than a defender.

Not given a squad number so I assume he has been told to find a new club by Aug 31. Trouble is he is still serving his 7 match ban for the incident at Brentford so the chances of anyone taking him are low so we will be stuck with paying him to the end of this season unless we can work some sort of early release. On the other hand he says he was worth 13 million so maybe we can sell him for 10 (pounds not million) in January.

Ramsdale apparently having a medical at Arsenal ahead of a move for initial 24 million rising to 30 million if he becomes their number one goalie. Nice profit for them if they get that cash.
So if Sheff United want Dieng to replace Ramsdale they can put 20 million cash on the table or take a hike imo.
Also would Dieng really want to move to Sheff Utd?. They would pay more but I have them down as more likely to be relegation candidates than anything else while we have a better chance than them to be pushing for promotion.

as Warburton is looking for another forward before window closes And we have been linked with Andre Gray from Watford what about Nahki Wells from Bristol City who seems to be surplus to requirements by Pearson and has a better goal scoring record than Gray ,I myself would love to see Nahki back in a hoops shirt ,but of course all down to finance and if he wanted to come back but we all know how he feels about the club ,anyway all down to finance I would think , anyway post away your thoughts 🤣

Over 30 (like Charlie) now but knows how to score. Could be a good one season contract for the right money with option to extend.

Agreed re Wells vs Gray, Wells v's Bony (not Bonne) agreed in principal but Well is under contract and they paid 5 million for him so will want a decent fee, Bony as a free agent makes more economic sense. Plus if we have Wells Dykes and Austin all fit and are only playing one up front it will be difficult to sell to the player as a good move for regular football. Playing 2 upfront would likely mean breaking the Willock/Chair partnership which I think could develop into one of the best in the league with Johansen behind them.

It all depends on what Bony would want, he might be asking for too much which is why he is a free agent and has been playing in the middle east for the last two years. Wells would be the preferred player, but that is a good point about playing time and we don't need to change who is starting up front, just need some depth. The best option might be to get someone on loan from a top flight club.
