Wigan Athletic have accepted an offer from QPR for reported Preston North End target Kieffer Moore. Moore has played an integral role in a resurgent Wigan side, who have continued to climb up the Championship table despite the prospect of a points deduction looming over their campaign. The striker scored twice in the 8-0 demolition of Hull City last week and the Wales international has chalked up nine goals for Paul Cook's outfit this season. www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/preston-kieffer-moore-qpr-transfer-18628900

If true, I'd be tentatively pretty optimistic about that. More mobile and smarter than Matt Smith, can act as a focal point to play in the attacking midfielers behind him, good age. Wouldn't say no.

Agree with your comments bow.
I would imagine that his value has dropped considerably due to Covid & administration.

Unless Preston hijack it with a higher bid this should go through quickly. Wigan are desperate to get some cash to pay the wages. Trouble is still 5 days to go before the transfer window opens so lots can happen during that time so I wish this had been kept quiet until the 27th. Get him to sign a pre=contract agreement! Someone will know better than me but if they're in admin, the adminstrators have the right to sign off transfers, right? Or at least, once the window is open? Imagine this being out in the open is pretty much the same as what we may have done with the BOS deal - make the acceptable bid level public, alert clubs to his availability and value and hope others come in to hijack it.

I think bow that the administrators have to accept the best offer but they can't make the player agree to join us or a different club. I'm almost sure that it would have to be one payment for full settlement rather than in installments & will almost certainly have no add on's attached as they would have been transferred to the fee. Back in the early '60's Mike Ferguson (later to plasy for us) refused the transfer that had been arranged for him to leave Accrington & would have kept them alive for another couple of weeks, as it was not in his best interests. Instead of joining Bury or Rochdale or whoever the club was, he joined Blackburn who were in the top half of the top division. It has been reported that Millwall have offered £1.85 million, but if we have offered £2 million the administrator can't accept the Millwall offer. That is unless the payment terms offered by Millwall are more advantageous.

How strange to offer less.....however, we are clearly, not alone!
MILLWALL BID FOR MOORE
Millwall have made a £1.85m offer for Wigan Athletic striker Kieffer Moore.
Yesterday, we reported QPR had a bid of around £2m accepted for the Wales international.
Moore has scored nine goals for Wigan this season.
The Championship club are in administration and need to bring funds in to keep the club afloat

2 Stories in one! WARNOCK WANTS BORO STAY - SSN
Neil Warnock has already started making plans for next season and wants to stay on as Middlesbrough manager.
The 71-year-old is meeting Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson for talks over his future today. Warnock guided Boro to safety after taking over last month, when he signed a short term deal until the end of the season.
Plans have already been put in motion for next season with Warnock outlining transfer targets. Middlesbrough, on the advice of Warnock, have spoken to Wigan about striker Kieffer Moore.
Sky Sports News reported in the last week that Wigan have accepted a £2m bid from QPR for Moore. We also reported that Millwall have made a £1.85m bid for the Wales international. Middlesbrough remain interested.

Just to throw something in. I became a bit concerned that with Preston and Boro bidding thought maybe for family reasons or living situations Kieffer Moore might prefer a northern move. But he is originally from down south all be it Torquay and played mainly in the south West and East Anglia. He also is not married and single so has no real ties to the North. Just thought IMHO it still makes us Favourites to sign him.

Would be nice to get Moore but most important thing is it shows we are at least planning to spend some money however this is going to depend on selling at least 2 out of Eze, BOS and Manning. I expect deal has stalled due to BOS not leaving yet. £2m should get us a decent striker or two from league one or two l, maybe try Toney at Peterborough for example and Taylor from Charlton available on a free

Yeah, I'm not sure what it would mean to Moore but do think that's something that isn't factored in enough when fans look at potential deals in general. At our level, the money is obviously still really good, but players are still people and things like where their family are, where kids would go to school, how settled they are etc are all massive factors. Some players aren't fazed by being away, others get homesick or partners don't want to uproot.
