So, Fulham on Tuesday night...
In our current form, probably just about the worst fixture we could have. Ruperts will be up for it, and we seem to be socially distancing on the pitch, dreaming about getting away to the sun as travel restrictions are relaxed.
I wonder if how many of the players get how important this one is to the fans and will lift their game accordingly?
I'd always be optimistic about getting something at Fulham, however misplaced that optimism might be. Today though, I'd almost be grateful if we only lost by one or two - I'm expecting a loss by three or more.
A point would be almost miraculous, and a win...??
Oops, there I go, getting all optimistic again!

Actually after reading Clive Wittinghams report of our two re start games, Im inclined to agree with Ashdown wherever we play. Im inclined to agree about our fitness or lack of it which I suspected and these nine games maybe like 9 lives, or lack of them. We even could lose to Mdbro with Warnock planning ways to beat us. Millwall at home may be our safest fixture.

Nil points with a goal difference of minus five for Fulham whereas we are only minus two!

Not expecting much in terms of a result - not purely negative, they're a hard team to play against even when we are in form.
But am keeping a keen eye on our attitude and performance. Fulham haven't been much cop since the break, albeit against good sides, but there's also no Mitrovic or Kamara tonight. It's still a big opportunity to show us something different from the abject displays of the last two games.
There's enough faith in us, as well as faith in the teams in freefall around us, for me to not be too worried about dropping. But by the same token, there's a legit worry in what 75 says about midtable sides maybe limping through until the end of the season after the break coming at such a crap time. We deserve better than that and would put a grim mark on what has been a positive season.
So less than the result, tonight I'm looking for a performance that stops the rot with a bit of guile and intensity. Fingers crossed, genuinely no idea what we will serve up.

Not that we have long to find out but assuming that's...5-3-2? Kelly Kane Kakay Cameron Barbet Manning Ball Eze Amos BOS Hugill Or even 5-4-1 if Amos and Ball are central and BOS and Eze either side. Intrigued.

Kelly should have saved it without any problem

Soft goal for me. Shot was only going one place, Kelly had time to watch it, but went through like his hand was made of bread.

Weird half, big positives and big negatives.
Good bits - started with high intensity and didn't let Fulham settle. Well deserved early goal which Hugill took brilliantly. Creating chances, Hugill denied again by a good Rodak save around 30 mins in.
Bad bits - we looked like we took the foot off the gas as Fulham began to figure out our weird shape and target Kakay with raking balls. Fulham goal absolutely soft, Kelly should have done better. And then Amos manages to sky an almost open goal chance from about 10 yards. Sure I'll change my mind when I've calmed down a bit but infuriating player - soft, reluctant to shift forward and then he gets a golden opportunity and absolutely balls it up. Could be 2-0 up without silly mistakes.
Anyway. Fingers crossed for the second half. And certainly better than the last 2 games.

Yes, he should have scored, but he did play the pass to BOS to set the move up & then ran 50 yards forward to meet the return. Hugill, who has played very well tonight, had as easy/easier chance at Charlton.

Yeah, not saying he is irredeemable and that Hugill hasn't got his own catalogue of bad misses to his name, along with his positives. But it is still a really poor miss. Just find him a rather frustrating player.

A question I have no idea of the answer to!
Why do we look a better side when Chair & Eze don't start together, but they dovetail very well when Chair comes on as a sub?
