Currently we're only 6 points off a playoff spot. My heart says let's aim for that and possible promotion to the Prem but my head says we need to stay in the Championship as we're not ready for the Prem. A conundrum.

sod it, if you have the chance go for it. We have players that will be in the Prem next season in Eze, BOS, potentially Manning and players that are experienced Prem players Cameron, Pugh, Rangel.
If you have the chance go for it, at the very least we get a lot of debt cleared.

It is a conundrum and our recent forays into the premier league have not been particularly happy ones BUT you have to take every opportunity as it comes. Looking at the table, the current incumbents of the play off places have been inconsistent, the top 2 have had very poor spells of form yet no-one has taken advantage. So often in the championship, the play-offs have been won by a team coming into form at the end of the season having spent most of it in mid table (extreme example being bottom at christmas) and this is what makes the championship so much more exciting than the premier league IMHO.
The other thing to think about is the financial benefit. All our financial woes could be resolved as long as we don't go down the disastrous route that we took the last time and, with Hoos and Ferdinand upstairs, I don't think that would be the case. We'd also be in a better position to keep our best players and maybe even add to them. Yes, we could still end up being relegated but we'd be in a much better position.

Whilst itâs nice to talk about realistically itâs a non-issue. We would probably have to win all our games to get the normal points tally maybe draw one game. Letâs build for next season with a strong run in playing good football. Give Oteh a run out soon see what he can do and I would also like to see Shodipo in the team as we will need him more next season. But future looks a lot brighter then this time last year!

I think our next seven games see us playing 5 of the bottom six with Fulham at Home and a dreadful Sheff Weds team. If we played at our best we could win six of these, on the other hand we have five teams fighting for there lives. I think we are a bit short and probably a good thing. I will be pleased to break the 60 point mark , that will be good progression after lots of seasons down the bottom or lower middle. Itâs amazing really, that 7 or 8 game run or whatever it was picking up 2-3 points really hurt us. If you think we only needed one win in that group of games, we dropped 2 crazy points against Charlton, we would be a game off the top six. We would have to rely on so many games, today is Derby V Blackburn , where we could do with a draw. Saturday Blackburn v Bristol and Millwall v Derbyâ another couple of draws..... But itâs just pleasing to get to 50 points and we are on a 5-6 game unbeaten run, so long may it continue. We should beat Barnsley at home, Charlton look dreadful but they have a diabolically weak Hull a couple of days before they play us. I think Charlton could even win that game so might be on a high before us. Fulham are not playing well at the minute and Brentford got there first win in 5 games, Forest only picked up two points off there last three games, Preston are about 4 games without a win.
They are all faltering up there, if Bristol, Derby , Blackburn or evening horrid Millwall put in a good run any could do it and we I suppose have an outside chance too. Letâs see where we are after the Charlton game if we can win two more but I think itâs two much unless itâs a low scoring pts that creeps into 6 th.

My word, we were talking about securing survival from relegation weeks ago..!
I don't think it'll quite happen, but the fact we are even talking about it after effectively revamping the squad and slashing the wage bill is a huge achievement.
Obviously we should want to finish as high as possible, regardless of anything else. Though if we did, we're likely going to end up involved with Brentford and Fulham, which will be stressful to say the least!
There's just so many unknowns. I'd have never backed us to do Preston 1-3 with ten men. We don't know if the Charlton side we face are going to be fighting for their lives and pulling out a performance or playing as poorly as they have done most of the season.
It's a very compressed top half and there is a lot of ropey form records in there. With a remarkable small crop of young sellable players likely off this summer, has this season weirdly turned out to be our best chance in recent memory? Or will we replace and improve, just like we ended up doing last summer?
Not a clue. Personally, I'm just glad it is even a discussion.

Message boards are a roller coaster of emotions. The panic of 7 games ago replaced with the chance of promotion. With 10 men, we could have got smacked yesterday, but it was our day not theirs. We have had so many sad days at QPR that it is good to enjoy the happier ones and we should rejoice in what we are being served up. Eze's goal has probably added a few extra Summer pennies - it is just unfortunate that he will not be with us for next season. But you cannot stand in the way of such talent. It is a long time since we have admired our ex-player's progression ( Raheem Sterling) but I hope that we do so with Eze and Bright. Players that we have had to sell in the recent past have really struggled of late. Freeman played a rare cup game for Sheffield United midweek as did Furlong for WBA. Luongo out injured for Sheffield Wednesday is pretty unpopular with the supporters (pretty weird stuff). www.footballfancast.com/championship/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-fans-reaction-massimo-luongo-injuriesSo perhaps some of these players will look back on QPR as their happiest playing days.

Agree with that Bow, too many variables to be speculating about play offs. Go on another bad run and we could end up nearer the relegation zone at seasonâs end, so letâs enjoy the remaining games and hope we really have turned the corner

I donât think third from Bottom will get to 52-53 points so if we beat Barnsley we would be 100 safe. The way Hull and Charlton are playing they might only win 2 or 3 games the rest of the season and if we go on recent form down there, I would say Luton , Barnsley and one from Hull and Charlton are favourite to drop. If we did win our next two games, wouldnât it be a great atmosphere against Fulham, that would be a big game for us. All ifs and buts, letâs get three 3 points off Barnsley we need to make amends for that rubbish performance at Oakwell. Then when we play Charlton, probably be better for us if they donât beat Hull on Saturday before we play them but canât really see that happening, Hull look like a League One team already.
We seem to have the started the season beyond all our expectations but then had that terrible Christmas and January where we could not get a result, now we are hopefully finishing the season strong.

I'd be very surprised if the safety line ends up as much as 50 points. Charlton are on 39 with 9 games to go and I can't see them getting more than 10 points from those. Can't see Hull getting more than 4 or 5 more points either. Barring a monumental shift, Luton & Barnsley are done. It's either Charlton or Hull to join them Now watch Wigan, Huddersfield & Middlesbrough get relegated!

Of course we should want to be in the playoffs. Doesn't mean we will win. but a great experience for the lads and the team as a whole.

We have gained 8 points on Preston (6 th )in the last 5 games and 9 points on Bristol City (7th )
Our biggest problem might well be Blackburn, Swansea , Millwall , Cardiff having a good run....

I would...And take Promotion...
There's so much money from the Premier League - If do it wisely...
And if we don't go up this year (which we won't!); Our players will be gone...Our budget will be even smaller. And could just as easily go down next season (Think Gerry Francis QPR sides of 1999 and 2000

Of course there is the possibility that we only sell 1 player Eze , say get 15 Million, and put 5 million back into the team and be even stronger next year than this? We sold our best player ( Freeman )last year and seem now stronger this year and strangely even lost Wells the last 7-8 games but are on a good run without him. I thought with Wells going we would struggle for goals but after a 2-3 game spell where we couldnât score, now we seem to have adjusted again. Itâs funny how it can work out sometimes. If we sold Eze, Manning and BOS I guess that would be hard to adjust to though.

Weirdly i was thinking along those lines on my way home tonight, what if this is out best chance to get to the play offs / promoted for a while? There is a very good chance we will lose BOS and Eze which are clearly our outstanding players of the season. It would be very hard to replace them next year as the money we get for the sale will simply go towards the running of the club. In short I hope we go for it!

Don't think we'll make the playoffs, but would be fun if we did - happily take it.
I'd even like promotion if it were to happened - as others have said, if only to shore up our finances for a few years.
