If by properly run you mean getting young players sending them out on loan. Getting them back to play good football, get noticed and then sold on. Then you can keep it, how the hell are we ever to get anywhere, its pathetic. I actually sleep in a very nice bed not a cave, but you carry on being a twat. Play nice, last and only warning. People on here have differing views, no need to be nasty just because you do not agree with them.

I'm still waiting for a real solid defender to come in. Masterson is currently fighting a lonely battle.

If Dyche is in conversation with Warburton I suppose we are not out of the running to keep him - question is how much are we prepared to pay for a striker who will be 30 next season and do we think we can do without him. Time will tell but I do not like the Dyche comment about seeing how things roll out next week - unless we are working on something such as the Dundee man that would leave us little time to get in anyone new. I don't think we'd be able to afford him, but if we could then I imagine it would only be on the basis that we sell first. At this stage I think Forest or Bristol City would be favourites to sign him.

If correct, the price is about to be set........
SSN - BRISTOL CITY IN WELLS TALKS
Bristol City are in talks with Burnley over the permanent signing of striker Nakhi Wells.
If a price can be agreed, Wells’ loan spell with QPR will be cut short and he will be allowed to talk to Bristol City.

News today says Burnley are looking at Bright, so could a deal be done where Bright goes, wells stays and we get some cash?

Nahki for Bright.................... Burnley linked with move for speedy QPR winger that could include Nakhi Wells - reports Osayi-Samuel is the latest player to be linked with a move to Burnley The pacey winger has been in good form for the Championship club this season, scoring five goals and assisting five more, and will not be short suitors. It has been reported that wanted Burnley striker Nakhi Wells, who spent the first half of the season at QPR, could be swapped as part of the deal. Osayi-Samuel started his career in Lancashire at Blackpool. Sean Dyche has said a decision has yet to be made on the future of Nakhi Wells but did admit there has been serious interest in the player. The fee Burnley are seeking could have kept QPR out of the race for Wells but boss Mark Warburton is hopeful a deal can be done. Any swap deal could feasibly help get over that obstacle. www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/burnley-linked-move-speedy-qpr-17633832With Dyche saying he knows how this will be resolved - this story could have legs!

Trouble is the Burnley model of promotion was a hundred times better than ours. We are paying for TF cock ups for the next ten years, it’s like a bad dream. OK, they have written debt off etc etc but the way we were run for a couple of seasons was diabolical, that’s why your Burnley’s, Bournemouth’s , Sheff Utds , Palace’s have all done better jobs than us, mostly on a smaller spends. How many have spent more than us trying to get promoted in recent years? Wolves maybe but they bought good players and managed to stay up with ease. Fulham made a big mess of it but have somehow managed to turn it around again this year.
I’m quite happy for a while in the Championship, if we can flitter around the middle to top 10, I’m quite happy with that but I do expect the team to put out strong teams in the Cups, none of that crap like the other day.

Hoos is saying that Burnley have over-valued him and that we're hamstrung by FFP anyway. That could only mean a deal with BOS or Eze - both of whom I'd rather have at this point.
£15+ including Nahki might be tempting - though I suspect we couldn't meet wage demands...
Oh well, can't be helped. It just means an opportunity for one of our youngsters.

This is very tricky for the club. We have a business model, buy young and cheap, sell high, accept that some do not work out. It is the Brentford model. Here we have Nahki who is very popular looking for a contract taking him to 33 years of age. Burnley are said to want £4m for Wells, he is apparently on £26k per week - far higher than our cap. In short, it does not fit our current model.... We bid £3m for Scott McKenna last window, so that would appear to be what the kitty looks like. Burnley presumably know the competitive value of Wells - so the price is established. We are faced with selling one of our youngsters - probably for lower than what we desire, just to afford Wells. Wells has been great for us, but we do know that he is a confidence player and could hit another dry spell. It starts to read like a 'bet the shop' deal and do we really need to do that? I would love him to stay, but isn't Shankland more in keeping with our current aspirations? January is a tough time to cut deals, and we are between the rock and a hard place for Nahki. Meanwhile, Bright has been fantastic of late - although with a history of poor decision making before this recent form. He has not signed a contract extension and we may have to rely on the option clause for 12 more months. Not sure how I feel if we lost Bright to save Nahki - but perhaps I just want everything!

Quite simply, we can't afford him.
Like anything else in life, if the price is too high you have to walk away. No matter how much you may want it.
Betting the farm on Wells is not learning the lessons of the past.
It's not what Brentford would do, if they were in our position, and theirs is the business model we need to follow.
There will be QPR fans on here, twitter and other QPR fans forums who will coat off the club and call us a joke for refusing to overpay for Wells, if indeed that is what I hope we do.
But let them whinge and wring their hands. It should no longer be a motivation to the club to cave into fan pressure and make bad decisions as a result.
If he's too rich for our pocket then let him go and move on.

Wotking on Nahki's replacement................https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-qpr-make-move-to-sign-third-spurs-player-after-mourinho-19-20-green-light/ Exclusive: QPR make move to sign third Spurs player after Mourinho 19/20 green light By Pete O'Rourke -27th January 2020 at 5:00pm1 QPR have made an approach to sign Tottenham striker Troy Parrott on loan, Football Insider can reveal. The Championship club are trying to land the Republic of Ireland prodigy as they look to bring in a third Spurs player before the window shuts on Friday. A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that QPR have registered their interest in the 17-year-old forward along with London and second-tier rivals Charlton Athletic. Jose Mourinho has given the green light for Parrott to go out on loan for the second half of the season after deeming him not quite ready for his Spurs side. QPR manager Mark Warburton has an excellent relationship with Tottenham and already has two of their rising stars on loan, midfielder Luke Amos and winger Jack Clarke. The teenager made his Premier League debut in the north Londoners’ 5-0 demolition of Burnley back in December. He had previously led the line for the first team in the surprise League Cup exit against Colchester United in September. Mourinho has spoken warmly about Parrott’s potential but does not see him as the answer yet to his side’s need for attacking reinforcements. Harry Kane has been ruled out until at least April after undergoing hamstring surgery and Tottenham are in talks to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn. Parrott also made his senior Republic of Ireland bow in November, providing an assist in a 3-1 friendly victory over New Zealand. In other Tottenham news, Spurs have pulled the plug on a forward deal after extensive talks.

Most Championship clubs can afford to spend more on players than us. Sorry but I'm sick of people constantly slagging of the club because they're not spending millions on players. We have a club that's being properly run after years of lunacy. Brought in 13/14 new players in the summer, total transfer fees of £50k and we're comfortably in mid table (8 pts of the play offs, 14 above relegation) playing some good football under a manager who has his wits about him. We have fans who are curiously silent after winning 6-1 & 5-1 yet suddenly become vocal when we lose the next game and climb back into their cave when we win the next. I don't know about the club being a joke but some of our fans are. I,for one, am and always be proud to support my club!

£7m !!!! QPR boss admits they may have to 'move on' from Bristol City and Nottingham Forest target Nahki Wells Unless he stays at Burnley, the Robins could have a clear run at the Bermudian, with other clubs across the league strengthening elsewhere QPR boss Mark Warburton has admitted they may have to 'move on' from Bristol City target Nahki Wells due to financial constraints. The striker, who has now been recalled from his loan spell at QPR by parent club Burnley, has attracted the interest of several Championship clubs this season, including Wigan, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest. And QPR were keen to make the loan move permanent after Wells scored 13 goals in 20 Championship starts this season, however they may be held back by how much Burnley are demanding for their in-form striker. Reports on Monday suggested the Clarets want £7 million for their forward, with the club having an option to extend his contract by one year after it runs out at the end of the season. And Warburton has now admitted that the price tag may be out of their range. He told the official QPR website: "He's Burnley's player, he has 18 months of a contract left to run. I know Sean very well and quite rightly they're going to call him back and see what happens. "There's obviously interested parties because he's scoring goals. "I understand the interest but also from Nahki's point of view you've got to appreciate how much happiness and the environment is worth to you. "We're not going to be in a position at QPR to go and match some of the big bids being put forward by other clubs. "Financial Fair Play and where we are, we have to be sensible but that's just life." "We can't be moaning at the situation, we know where we are, the club's making rapid strides to get everything sorted financially which we are with good foundations. "But if it's outside of our league we have to move on. Do we want Nahki? Absolutely, he's a great guy to work with and has had a hugely positive impact, is well-liked by the squad and staff alike and has been very good for us. www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qpr-boss-admits-move-on-3785239

QPR turn to Tottenham's Troy Parrot on loan after Nahki Wells returns to Burnley Spurs set to let Parrott out on loan with Charlton Athletic also keen By Lyall Thomas Last Updated: 28/01/20 12:48pm QPR are interested in a loan deal for Tottenham's Troy Parrott, as manager Mark Warburton suggested on Tuesday they are backing away from trying to sign Nahki Wells from Burnley on a permanent deal. Warburton says the west London club are "not in a position to match some of the big bids being put forward by other clubs" and that "if it's outside of our league, we have to move on". Wells was recalled from his loan at Loftus Road amid talks over a permanent move to Bristol City, although Burnley boss Sean Dyche is considering keeping and playing the striker. I was very blunt and open with Nahki; that we're more than delighted with his contribution but, likewise, he's in a really good place, the environment is suiting him and he's thriving accordingly." The 17-year-old Parrott is set to be allowed out by Spurs for more first-team games, although the club would like him to sign a new contract before doing so, with Charlton Athletic also keen amid Lyle Taylor's uncertain future. There has also been interest from at least one club abroad in Parrott, who has not managed to break into Jose Mourinho's first-team plans despite an injury to Harry Kane, and Warburton is already nurturing the talent of two Spurs youngsters on loan in Luke Amos and Jack Clarke. Tottenham also want to add another new striker on loan themselves before Friday's deadline, with talks held for AC Milan's Krzysztof Piatek and interest in Real Sociedad's Willian Jose. www.skysports.com/football/news/11711/11919912/qpr-turn-to-tottenhams-troy-parrot-on-loan-after-nahki-wells-returns-to-burnley

About 9 years yet Seriously though it should get better , as our model improves , so do we as a Club. I think a year or two we will things getting better, we won’t be spending 5 - 10 Million on a player but we will have a better platform. The goal was not to go down to league 1 the last two - three seasons, we just need another 4-5 wins and that’s another tick. It will get better. Anyway, we are going to get the win tonight !
