Poor first half, the better team won, keeper saved us from a bit of a thrashing. A good win at Hull followed by 1 point from two home games, home form not really great at the minute.
Move on.

When teams push up on us like in the past two games, the defence struggles to play their way out and we give the ball away a lot. With not enough posession in midfield we struggled to create any clear cut chances tonight.

Just home - few quick bits before bed cos obviously having a bit of a sulk about it.
As others have said, think a lot of issues came from us not being able to play with enough pace and movement from the back when teams know to box us in. Reading did an alright job of that but Brentford were better at it and were able to turn interceptions into attacks very quickly.
First goal was both important and soft. Manning seemed to be instructed to go really narrow when Brentford attacked which seemed odd. Plenty of time for the cross, free header.
In the second half, you saw Chair dropping to collect more to try and address that when Cameron went off. Not sure if Cameron and Scowen were a mobile enough combo for the job on this occasion. I get why both were picked and this seemed a very Scowen game when his ratting would be appropriate, but neither were that good tonight for me. Hall took his goal really well, mind.
Penalty was soft as shiteee. A dive as far as I'm concerned. Changed the direction of the game.
We still created chances, but at 2-1, Brentford were well disciplined and effectively parked the bus. When we had the ball at the back, they pushed their back line up as a unit and dashed forward to play us offside (and when we were onside, no matter - lino happy to flag us off anyway).
Eze, Bright and Chair all decent for me - Eze did some outrageous stuff in terms of managing to keep hold of the ball, in particular. Took a long time for Brentford's left back to get a deserved yellow and I'd have liked Bright to have kept trying to roast him, but sometimes his decision making let him down.
To steal a point from Ricky at the game though, everything aside, it is hard to begrudge Brentford the result when Kelly pulled off at least two very high quality saves when they could and should have scored more.
A lot of the same points as other games, then. Still look great in patches. Still concede way too many soft goals. Still, in terms of the league and the cost of our squad, playing beyond my (and most peoples') expectations.

Echo all above. Disappointing game, another poor ref getting the important decisions wrong. We were a long way from the penalty decision but those with better eyesight (not me) all thought it was a dive, so how could the ref be sure? But, both Reading and Brentford had done their homework and that meant a poor first 45 in each case. It means that we start slowly. Kelly probably had more possession than any other player as we passed back with all forward avenues closed off. Likewise, they stopped us playing out from the back and yet we did not do the same to the opposition. Kelly had his best game for us - phew! Think we need to try something different at Leeds - after all, we have little to lose. I would push Manning forward and give Wallace a run out at left back. I would try Hugill up front with Wells on the right wing. So I would rest Cameron (off the pace last night IMHO) and perhaps Bright - although that would be harsh on him. So: Kelly Rangel (or Kane) Hall, Leinster and Wallace Scowen (or Cameron) Wells Eze Chair Manning Hugill

Goals change games, we were well on top when that clown of a ref decided to give the pen. What is it with officials at loftus road?, I was level with the lino in the 2nd half and he got at least 3 offsides wrong. We had some good other chances that went straight into the keepers arms. Credit to Brentford, they played well, but the game could have gone either way. Leinster was once again appalling, his distribution is shockingly bad. Resorted to playing it square and back to the keeper in the 2nd Half.

Yeah, that's the one. Same one who turned our game against Preston in 2016 into an absolute farce.
Our old pal Keith Stroud as fourth official too, scourge of QPR teams past.

So wonderful to see these many reports of our fanboard who were actually there. Feel like QPR report is really blossoming and the Goto blog for qtr fans. So proud of these member reports.
Keep it up.
