Watching a lot of TV football whilst recuperating...... But Cardiff were really poor today. Reading won 3-0 and missed 2 'one on ones' with Smithies and then Smithies saved a penalty (as ever). Reading played well - and not what I was expecting - but Cardiff were shocking.
Early days yet but this is the Championship. Look at the table and there are a number of clubs who are not where you would expect them to be and I expect a few will still be there come the end of season.
However the promoted teams normally do well for a few games with the confidence carried over from last season and the relegated clubs, usually having cleared out a few players, take a while to come to terms with the Championship. This past weekend teams could move up or down 15 places depending on not just the result but how many goals were being scored around the country.
10 games in and we will start to see a better picture but even then it is only the last 12 to 15 games of the season that really sort things out.
Now if we can win the next 2 games we will be looking better than anyone expected - lose them both and gloom and doom as people will say that's where they expected us to be . 13th after 3 is probably slightly better than most expected given the number of players changes and the teams we had to play but on actual performances is slightly disappointing that we do not have a couple of more points in the bag.- the beauty of football in one week
