Loan Rangers: Dalling makes Cork City debut
George Jones @qpr
DESHANE Dalling made his debut for Cork City on Friday night, coming off the bench to play the final 30 minutes of their 1-0 defeat against Shelbourne in the SSE Airtricity League.
The winger – who made the temporary switch to Ireland last week – replaced Dylan McGlade on the hour mark but could not prevent his new side from falling to a single-goal loss.
Paul Smyth started Wycombe Wanderers’ 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.
Northern Irishman Smyth was a bright spark in Wanderers’ attack and he played 89 minutes of the match as they rose to third place in the table.
Also in League One, Seny Dieng’s Doncaster Rovers went down to a pair of own goals against Gillingham on Saturday.
After taking the lead through Ben Sheaf’s eye-catching strike, Rovers were reduced to 10 men when Fejiri Okenabirhie was sent off and Cameron John then put through his own net twice to hand the Gills all three points.
Niko Hamalainen started and played 90 minutes in Kilmarnock’s 2-1 defeat to Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Shiloh Remy scored a penalty in Waltham Abbey’s emphatic 7-3 win against Chalfont St Peter in the BetVictor Isthmian South Central Division at the weekend.
In the Vanarama National League Premier, Lewis Walker and Ody Alfa both saw their matches postponed due to safety reasons. Walker’s Aldershot Town were due to host Boreham Wood and Alfa’s Maidenhead United were set to travel to AFC Fylde.
Ben Wells extended his loan deal at Concord Rangers on Monday and, at the weekend, he was named as their Player of the Month for January.
Wells started their weekend defeat to Bath City in the National League South and fellow R’s youngster Nathan Carlyle was an unused substitute.
In the same league, Amrit Bansal-McNulty and Themis Kefalas were due to go head to head on Saturday but Dartford’s clash against Billericay Town was postponed due to Storm Dennis.
Franklin Domi’s Eastbourne Borough also saw their match called off. They were due to welcome Wealdstone to Priory Lane.
Dylan Duncan’s Dunfermline Athletic were not in action at the weekend.
Toni Leistner was an unused substitute for FC Koln’s 4-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga on Sunday.
