The Offie announcement in full. Rangel offered a new contract. Loanee return to parent clubs www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/baptiste-bidwell-cousins-lynch-and-wszolek-depart/Baptiste, Bidwell, Cousins, Lynch and Wszolek departPaul Morrissey @pjmorrissey77 ALEX Baptiste, Jake Bidwell, Jordan Cousins, Joel Lynch and Pawel Wszolek will all depart QPR when their contracts expire in June. Meanwhile, defender Angel Rangel and young goalkeeper Seny Dieng have been offered new deals to remain in W12. Alex Baptiste, 33, joined the R’s from Preston two years ago and made 35 appearances in all competitions. Jake Bidwell, 26, made 130 appearances and scored four goals during his three-year stay with QPR after joining from Brentford. Like Bidwell, Jordan Cousins also came to QPR in the summer of 2016 and the 25-year-old went on to make 70 appearances, scoring one goal after signing from Charlton Athletic. Joel Lynch also joined three years ago, arriving from Huddersfield Town, and the 31-year-old made 95 appearances, scoring seven goals. Pawel Wszolek came to QPR on loan from Hellas Verona in the summer of 2016, before completing a permanent switch in January 2017. The 27-year-old made 113 appearances in that time, scoring 11 goals. Loan players Nahki Wells, Tomer Hemed and Geoff Cameron have returned to parent clubs Burnley, Brighton & Hove Albion and Stoke City respectively. We thank all the players for their efforts during their time with us and wish them every success in the future.

So we have taken up the one year option on Hall?

It is all about balance. With Furlong Kakay Hall, Rangel & Leistner we have 5 right sided and only Manning and maybe Rangel on the left. That suggests that Leistner may well be on the move and we have identified left sided targets. Letting Wszolek leave for free is a financial blow, but he has been inconsistent - especially away from home and we have plenty of youth cover - he is said to be one of our highest earners. Not really surprised about Lynch, Cousins, Bidwell, Hamed, Cameron and Wells - only Bidwell could have raised a case, but if Nottingham Forest want to pay him the same money, then they can add him to their list of left backs and he can challenge Robinson.
So only to be expected. But we paid good money for all 5 departures and we decided to not take up their contract extensions- so we must need to offload their wages - and we have known that for some time so I hope we have sorted some early replacements.

Please correct me if you are totally sure I'm wrong but aren't Hall and Phillips out of contract this summer too? If so, have they been offered new deals?

I've no problem with the departure of those five, although I'm a bit surprised about the offer to Rangel.
I also thought Hall was out of contract, so maybe an offer has been made & they are awaiting his reply?

Perhaps he will be added to our growing list of green shirts.

According to Clive Whittingham, Hall's contract expires next year.
Hopefully his fitness, mental & physically, will be OK for next season.

Letting Pavel go is a serious mistake, he will be sorely missed. IMO the other 4 are no loss, but totally silly decision with Pav.

Interesting though that McClaren continued to pick players who the club must have already decided that we could not afford next season. The youth loaned out as he was not using them. But given the poor run, the players hardly enhanced their reputations or took their opportunity to put themselves in the shop window. Lynch often looked as though he no longer cared - but still got picked. If it is correct that Hall has another year, it is pretty amazing how he spent the first half of the season on the bench without getting much game time - watching Lynch play ahead of him.

Warburton was sounded out at the interview stage about which of the out of contract players, if any, he wanted to keep so clearly Pav didn’t feature in his plans. There may have been the cost to consider too. He may have been too expensive to retain.

I rate Pawel. I agree there's a question mark there about his tendency to go missing away from home but he's quick, can cover RB/RWB when needed and has good delivery. But money/squad wise, we are probably in a situation where if he's on good money, it's hard to justify it with the youngsters waiting in the wings. For what it's worth, he said lots of nice things on social media about the fans and the club today when announcing his departure.
Bit surprised by the Angel contract offer but he must be taking a significant pay cut? Value on and off the pitch, though no resale really. Must be one of the older heads mentioned, which I suppose are in short supply in the squad.

With Furlong more likely to play center back next season it make senses to have angel as right back on a short term deal. Experience and quality. I also agree it must be on a huge pay cut...perhaps he just loves the London life :-)

I don't think Rangel was ever on big money. He'd been delisted and no team picked him up. We came in with an offer at the 11th hour which he took. Not the sort of situation that leads to a big money contract IMO

Great addition to have Rangel, the experience he can pass on alone onto our young defenders is almost worth his wages alone. A great leader , it would have been like having Clint back a while ago on low wages, no brainier for me.
I was hoping to keep Pav and Bidwell, I am a little bit gutted to be honest. No qualms about the other three, Cousins never really set the world alight like we thought he would, fairly injury prone, Lynch has done ok but time to move on and Baptiste was handy when we needed them.
Wish all five of them the best of luck in their future Clubs

If he can keep hold of freeman and play him centrally that will do his brownie points a lot of good in my book.

No point keeping a player who doesn’t want to be here. These are the players we have to sell nowadays. Would be nice to see him in the Prem next season.

On the matter of Rangel and Dieng. I wonder when we'll find out if they've accepted the offers?

Has Freeman made it known that he wants to go then? No surprise if true, I would expect one of the promoted teams to pick him up or even someone like Brighton

As others have said, it would be nice to see Freeman in the Prem next year. Leeds are apparently interested, oh, hang on... forget that bit... BUT, not at any price. Just wondering what he'd fetch in today's market, what would Rangers fans be happy with - £8-10m?? We'd probably sell for £4m though.

Personally, I wouldn't expect much more than £3 million unless more than one club is interested. The Luke Freeman of the first half of the season & the home game against Leeds is certainly worth more than that, but the player that ended the sesson isn't. I also struggle to think of one Premier League club that will make an enquiry unless Sheffield United or Brighton do. He would not have been in the Norwich, Villa or Derby (due to Wilson & Mount being on loan) starting team, but he may have made the difference to Leeds, West Brom or Middlesbrough being promoted. I know many will disagree with me, but I feel Freeman is a top of The Championship player but that is his limit. Don't get me wrong, that is a bloody good level to achieve! I've also seen Matt Phillips play in the play offs & Freeman is a far superior player to him. How we got a penny for Phillips on those performances is beyond me! It may be that a club like West Brom, Stoke or Cardiff might feel he is likely to improve their chances of promotion & make an offer. Hopefully, if they do, at least two of them will be involved! I didn't include Leeds as they may freefall this summer!
