Glad we got Wells over the line. Now we have a squad with cover for every position, the ability to rotate according to injuries, suspensions or loss of form and the ability to have a strong bench with players able to come on and make an impact.
Also glad to see that Aberdung lost 2-0 in the Europa League with their manager continuing to bleat on about other clubs showing a lack of respect to his club by trying to sign one of his players on deadline day. With the number of deals that went through yesterday there must have been a whole lot of disrespect going on around football.

He fits all of the criteria! Further back this also applied to a bit older Victor Bloody Mobley. Still the worst centre half I've seen play in a blue & white hooped shirt! Gus caesar & Bob malcolm etc were world beaters compared to him! How I remember joining in with "Now we've got Vic Mobley we're goona win the league" on his debut!

it was just a few years ago I believe he went out on loan as he hardly got in the side I think he played a few cup games his name is on the tip of my tongue but I just can't remember it I would think it could be 2017 or around that era he was a young Scottish lad I think he might have played in the under 23 when he first arrived but I am not sure about it

From WLS. No surprises here! www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/unwanted-goss-close-to-leaving-qprUnwanted Goss close to leaving QPRBy Adam Borysiuk 15/08/2019 Sean Goss appears to be close to leaving QPR. Shrewsbury are in talks to sign the midfielder, who can leave on a free transfer, and a number of other clubs have indicated that they are also interested. Goss, 23, has failed to impress since being signed from Manchester United in January 2017. He did not make a senior appearance for United, has started just three league games for QPR and has had loan spells in Scotland with Glasgow Rangers and St Johnstone. Goss has a year remaining on his contract but new R’s boss Mark Warburton quickly decided that the player was surplus to requirements and could leave along with David Wheeler, who has since joined Wycombe.

Would Goss have to go on loan or can he still be transferred? End of the day it would not make much difference if he goes on a free but with a loan if he picks up a bad injury he would be sent back to us for rest of the season.
On a different subject, sad news that Aberdung and their world class 10 million worth centre back were knocked out of the Europa League last night - losing both the home and away legs 2-0. Now they have lost the potential income from Europe maybe an extra 3 million transfer fee would have come in handy for them.
With Hall seemingly fit we may have dodged a bullet on this one anyway.
Sorry to go on about it, and this is my last word on the subject (until January at least), but they just p'd me off with their comments about our "lack of respect" for bidding for one of their players.

A few clubs were apparently sniffing around at £3m - absolutely no-one was interested at their valuation of £8m. Thing is, a player is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them - as we know only too well...

So Goss has gone to Shrewsbury which I think is best for all concerned. According to BBC we actually got a fee (undisclosed of course) for him which is even better news if true. Every little helps as they say.

Goss to Shrewsbury & Hamalianen possibly to Kilmarnock now that Wallace is nearly fit. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49374058QPR’s Hamalainen set for another loan move By West London Sport 16/08/2019 QPR’s Niko Hamalainen could move to Scotland on loan. Kilmarnock are interested in the 22-year-old left-back, who has previously been on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge and Los Angeles FC. The United States-born Finland international has made three league appearances for the R’s, two of them as a substitute. Meanwhile, Sean Goss has left QPR to join Shrewsbury on a two-year deal. Kilmarnock are in talks with Queens Park Rangers left-back Niko Hamalainen about signing him on loan. The American-born Finland international has been with QPR for five years, and had loan spells with Dagenham & Redbridge and Los Angeles FC. Hamalainen, 22, would bring competition for left-back Greg Taylor after Calum Waters was loaned to St Mirren. Manager Angelo Alessio said on Thursday that he does not expect Taylor to leave during the transfer window. Taylor, 21, has been linked with Celtic, and a £500,000 offer from Nurnberg was rejected in July.

It would be good for Hamalainen to get a loan move to the Scottish Premier League. Like Oteh, he must be running out of time to prove himself at QPR.
Goss is a funny one. I can only recall seeing him once (if I ignore the time he almost ran me over at Harlington). He came on as a centre back against Bournemouth in the Stan Bowles match and looked pretty comfortable. He clearly can play football, hopefully he takes his chance at Shrewsbury.

Why keep something simple when you can make it complicated. I thimk it is still simple 75. That is, apart from those clubs that know best - Premier & Championship clubs! I find it funny that some clubs are now worried that they will lose some "stars" (Pogba amongst therm) & not be able to replace them. Did they really believe that the reat of Europe would fall in line with their wishes? Why did the Championship clubs vote to stay in line with the Premier rather than with the other EFL clubs?

Seems like we paid him off rather than received a fee. New signing Sean Goss talks to us about his debut and his first few days in and around Shrewsbury. “It’s brilliant to be back out there. Straight in and had my first session with the lads yesterday, so to come straight in it’s always going to be tough. You’re learning every time and every minute that the game goes on. I really enjoyed it and I’ll be hoping to build on that performance because I haven’t had that much game time lately.” Sean secured a full 90 minutes under his belt today, putting in a solid performance and starting to step-up and whip in some free-kicks and crosses. “I’ve always wanted to step up and take them. I’d like to think I’ve got a good delivery and get quite a lot of assists throughout the season.” A goalless draw today for Town but many believe it was a solid performance including Sean. “I thought we were good. I think it took us a bit longer to get going and what we wanted. I think we showed some really good spells and I think we can be disappointed as well because we had some really good chances. But we’ll just take the point in the end.” Goss has been without a club for almost a week and a half after having to do the training by himself. “I can’t stress enough how much I want to be back playing football and enjoying my football. I think this is a perfect opportunity to come here and get some games under my belt and do well for the club.” 23-year-old Sean has a background of experience with clubs such as QPR, Rangers and Manchester United. “I’m grateful for those opportunities and I think I’ve got more to show out there. Today was tough but we go again on Tuesday.” Sean walked into the dressing room knowing a few friendly faces such as Donald Love and Ro-Shaun Williams. “I was lucky enough because I know Donald and Ro-Shaun. I grew up playing with them in the Under 23’s at Manchester United. They’ve been really good and helping me to settle in. I’ve said all the lads have been brilliant and probably one of the easiest changing rooms I’ve come into which is great.” Having signed a two-year deal with Town, it has given Sean the boost, confidence and security that he needed at this point in his career. “I think signing for the club it gives you that bit of security. When you’re a loan player, it’s difficult because you’re not really part of the club I suppose. But when the opportunity came, it was the only thing I wanted to do.” Sean is looking forward to Tuesday night’s game away at Accrington Stanley as he has more to offer on the pitch. He is eager for his first three points with the club. “I think I’m going to be learning new things every game. Every game is going to be so different so I’m looking forward to a challenge. We’ll take the point today and we’ll take as many positives as we can from today.” Interviews Shrewsbury Town vs Rochdale on 17 Aug 19 Sean Goss Advertisement block

Well I agree the process is simple - not the logic. I thought that the idea of bringing the close of the window forward for the P/L (followed by the Championship) was so that clubs knew who they would have in their squad at the start of the season rather than a month, and half a dozen games into the season. Seemed good to me. Obviously someone either overlooked the rules of rest of the EFL, Scotland and Europe - or they assumed BoJo style that the rest of Europe would give in and do as the P/L wants. I suppose it is a step forward knowing that signings have to be complete early, but then a step backward when clubs can still lose their best players and not be able to replace them until January. I know - why don't we scrap transfer windows and allow moves at any time of the season - wonder why it's never been tried before........

"Obviously someone either overlooked the rules of rest of the EFL, Scotland and Europe - or they assumed BoJo style that the rest of Europe would give in and do as the P/L wants. " I think that is the answer. Premier clubs assumed that the rest of Europe would bow down to their superiority! It would have made more sense if all the leagues started at the same weekend. I still don't understand what the benefit to the top clubs is to have an early window. United & Tottenham are certainlt in danger of losing players without the chance of signing replacements. Does anybody know what the majority was when Premier clubs voted for it's implementation? I suspect taht it was the bottom half clubs that were in favour in the hope that they wouldn't lose their stars at the last moment.

CHARLTON SIGN HEMED SSN
Charlton have signed Tomer Hemed from Brighton on a one-year deal.
Charlton have completed the signing of striker Tomer Hemed after Brighton agreed to cancel the Israel international's contract with the club.
Hemed played a role in Brighton's first Premier League season, scoring two goals in 16 appearances during the 2017/18 season, but spent last term on loan at Queens Park Rangers.
Charlton have now confirmed the 32-year-old has signed a one-year deal and is available to play immediately, with manager Lee Bowyer telling the club's website: “I’m really pleased we’ve been able to get this deal done. No doubt he will score at our place............

That’s a strange one considering they renewed his contract.
Indeed I’m sure he’ll score against us and they might be getting a better version than we had as he was injured for a lot of our spell.
If nothing else he put in two major events in for us last season - goal against Wigan and the performances against Swansea.

Apprently we're interested in a defender:
If we really have offered him a 'concrete option', he's clearly not interested in taking us up on it, preferring to tout himself around other clubs in the hope of a better deal. If he's unable to get himself more dosh and ends up wanting to sign for us, I suggest we tell him to 'do one'... as he's clearly not the 'right sort'.

Another youngster goes out on loan www.qpr.co.uk/news/under-23s-news/charlie-rowan-joins-barnet-on-loan/Charlie Rowan joins Barnet on loanGeorge Jones @qpr QPR youngster Charlie Rowan has joined National League club Barnet on loan until January 1st. Rowan – a ball-playing defender – penned a one-year contract extension with the R’s in the summer, having joined the club from Watford in November 2018. Rowan could make his Bees debut on Bank Holiday Monday when they host Torquay United. The loan deal is subject to confirmation from the regulatory bodies

The FLW take on the Charlie Rowan loan footballleagueworld.co.uk/qpr-confirm-players-temporary-departure/QPR CONFIRM PLAYER’S TEMPORARY DEPARTUREPublished 5 mins ago on 24/08/2019 By Jacob Potter QPR have announced that young defender Charlie Rowan has left the club to join Vanarama National League side, Barnet on loan. The loan will last until January 2020, and the youngster will be hoping that he can make a positive impact for Barnet as the look to challenge for promotion back into the Football League. Rowan signed for QPR in 2018 from Premier League side, Watford but is yet to feature for the QPR first-team so far in the early stages of his career. He has previously been out on loan with Accrington Stanley whilst with the Hornets, and will be hoping to further his development away from Loftus Road this term. But if he can get regular minutes for Barnet on loan, then he could soon be challenging for a place in the first-team at QPR in the Championship. Barnet are currently sat 10th in the National League table, and will be hoping to build on some impressive showings so far in this year’s league campaign. It remains to be seen as to whether Rowan will be involved in their next game against Wrexham though, in what will be a tough test for Darren Currie’s side on Saturday. The Verdict: This is a smart move by the Hoops. Rowan isn’t going to be anywhere near the first-team plans this season, so it’s a smart move to loan him out to find regular game time in senior football. The club clearly rate him highly since signing him from Watford, and if he can impress out on loan, then he could be featuring for QPR in future seasons.
