From WLS. Looks like an update of the story from a copuple of weeks ago. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/midfielder-made-very-good-offer-as-bees-fulham-and-qpr-show-interestHibs boss hoping to keep McGeouchBy Andy Newport 24/05/2018 Neil Lennon has not given up on persuading Dylan McGeouch to stay at Hibernian after revealing the midfielder could be set for a change of heart. The Hibs boss previously admitted the out-of-contract Scotland squad member, 25, had decided it was time to move on. England was expected to be his next move, with Fulham, Brentford and QPR all interested in the former Celtic man. But Lennon is clinging to the hope that McGeouch might decide against heading south and instead sign a new deal to remain in Edinburgh. Lennon said: “It’s an interesting one with Dylan because it’s not done yet. We are still in there fighting for that. “We’ve a small chink of light. The way he was after his last game we more or less felt that may be it but there’s still some movement there. “The club have made him what we feel is a very good offer.” Blackburn and Aberdeen are also among clubs keen on McGeouch.

Could easily imagine QPR wanting to sell him for big money; but wouldnt have thought Birmingham could afford what he'd cost; would be the best investment for a middle Championship Club. But for a PRmier League lower club - especially as second goalie... ANd can easily imagine him wanting to leave for the Premi (or even for a Championship club with a good chance of promotion) But imagine he'll be going somewhere this summer

I note that the story came from Alan Nixon, a Sun journo. To me that puts it into perspective.

ANd can easily imagine him wanting to leave for the Premi (or even for a Championship club with a good chance of promotion) But imagine he'll be going somewhere this summer I'm reaching here but based on what he's said about the move to us in his interviews, it would have to be a significantly better offer for him to want to move. Moving from Huddersfield was absolutely huge for him and his family - leaving his childhood club, moving away from his family and so on was a big theme when he's spoken out. His wife has just had a kid too, so I can't see him upping sticks unless another club offers him a bumper offer with a long-term contract at a higher standard. Obviously if we get a big offer we're obliged to take it seriously (same for any of our players) but he's well loved here, is building a fantastic reputation, he's settled in the area and is pretty much the first name on the team sheet, so I don't think he's as likely to go as we think. Birmingham is a basket case club (even wilder than us) so I don't think that move would make any sense for him.

If we get a good offer, he'll go. We don't need to find a replacement or even a No 2. We can use the funds to strengthen our squad in other areas.

Interesting results from football.london survey on transfers. www.football.london/queens-park-rangers-fc/qpr-fans-transfer-survey-results-14727793QPR to sign Newcastle striker, Jack Robinson to stay - fans reveal all in our transfer surveyEarlier this week we asked fans to complete a survey on what they'd like to see happen at the club this summer, and here's what they had to say. By Phil Spencer 11:43, 31 MAY 2018 QPR's fans have spoken! The wheels are slowly turning behind the scenes at Loftus Road as the club look to do their transfer business ahead of the new Championship season. While in reality it could be a quiet summer as the Hoops continue their battle with Financial Fair Play, it seems that the fans in W12 are still wanting to dream of what could be ahead of the new campaign. Earlier this week we asked fans to complete a survey on what they'd like to see happen at the club this summer, and here's what they had to say. How many players do QPR need to sign this summer?Given the club's 16th place finish last season, and the number of players departing this summer, it's no surprise that the QPR fans are hoping for a number of new recruits before the start of next season. In fact, 90% of those who took the survey said that the Hoops need three or more new signings, while the remaining 10% said just two signing would suffice. Unsurprisingly, nobody thought QPR could get away without any new acquisitions. Which position do QPR most need to strengthen? The results to this section were something of an even split. The departures of Nedum Onuoha and James Perch have left the club a little thin in defence, leading 48.5% of fans wanting to prioritise defensive reinforcements this summer. Of course, it wouldn't be a QPR fans survey without a cry for a proven goalscorer - with 50.5% of fans saying the club must prioritise a striker. The remaining 1% said that QPR needed a midfielder but the club seem well kitted out in that area. In which position are QPR best equipped? As you'd expect, the results to this question were fairly self-explanatory. An impressive 67% of people said that QPR were strongest in midfield - something which isn't a surprise given the strength in depth in that department. 30% said that the goalkeeper was the strongest position - again, with Alex Smithies, Matt Ingram and Joe Lumley all proving themselves as more-than capable stoppers - the club are pretty well equipped in that department. Who should QPR look to offload this summer? We threw this one wide open - and the fans didn't hold back in their views. While the likes of Idrissa Sylla, Jordan Cousins and David Wheeler were all mentioned, it was Conor Washington who dominated the voting. The former Peterborough man has failed to impress since arriving at Loftus Road - and while he's often used as something of a scapegoat, you can't argue with the wants of the fans. Poor Conor. Which player must QPR look to retain at all costs? There was a wide range of responses to this question, with large groups of fans looking for different things. While some fans backed the likes of Alex Smithies, Luke Freeman and Josh Scowen as the key men for QPR, others were prioritising the retention of the club's talented crop of young players, with Darnell Furlong, Ebere Eze and Paul Smyth being described as key. However, it was the magic man, Massimo Luongo who took the majority of the votes - and who can blame them? Everybody loves Mass. Which player would you most like QPR to sign this summer? Here at Football.London, we like to give the fans an opportunity to dream - and they've certainly grasped the opportunity with both arms. While some have opted for players such as Patrick Bamford, Dwight Gayle and Jack Marriott - others have massively overestimated QPR's spending power - tipping the club to sign the likes of Mo Salah, Gareth Bale and Ryan Sessegnon. Of course, a large number of fans have backed the club to sign QPR legend Charlie Austin, and while it seems very unlikely - you can never say never. Would you like Jack Robinson to stay at QPR next season? It's the contract saga which has rumbled on and on, so it seemed only right that we asked the fans for their opinions. Despite not yet agreeing to a new contract, 89.8% of fans still said they would like Jack Robinson to stay at the club next season. The defender was one of QPR's most consistent performers during the last campaign, and would no doubt be a key player for the Hoops if he was to stay. However, 10.2% of fans who voted said they weren't bothered if he stayed. What is the best case scenario for QPR this summer? While everyone had a different response, there was certainly some themes developing in the views of the fans. A lot of the answers were based around retaining the likes of Massimo Luongo and Alex Smithies, while some called for Conor Washington to be sold. Others emphasised the importance of retaining all of the club's young talent - an understandable response. As for incoming transfers, the general consensus was that QPR need to sign 3 or 4 new players - with many calling for two new strikers and two new defenders. What is the worst case scenario for QPR this summer? As you'd expect, the answer to this was pretty much the exact opposite of the above. The QPR fans said it was catastrophic if the club were to lose Massimo Luongo or Alex Smithies, and called on the club to retain the group of young stars coming through at the club. The Hoops have already announced the the departures of several senior stars such as Nedum Onuoha, James Perch and Jamie Mackie - and the main fear is that the club will not replace them - or they'll be replaced with players who simply aren't good enough for the Championship. What should be QPR's priority this summer? While the fans at Loftus Road have enjoyed seeing the young players being developed at the club, the majority would like QPR to focus on strengthening at first team level. 45.5% of fans have said that the priority must be signing proven players for the QPR first team, while 39% said the emphasis must be on retaining the club's best players. 12% have backed the club to sign more talented youngsters, while just 3% think the club must continue to focus on trimming the wage bill at the club.

I just wonder if McClaren can get the best out of Washington and if he could yet be an important player for us? I doubt it, he has been tried in many formations and never really scored at a consistent rate. I think he just will be one of those Strikers that’s not really prolific. If we could swap one of our Strikers, he is the one I would exchange at the minute.

From the Scottish Sun www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2729243/rangers-dylan-mcgeouch-transfer-speculation-international-duty-scotland/WANTED MAN Rangers target Dylan McGeouch wants to keep transfer speculation quiet until he’s finished on international duty with ScotlandThe former Celtic midfielder quit Hibs at the end of the season after his contract ran out, but Neil Lennon is still hoping to capture him for the next campaign By Andy Devlin 3rd June 2018, 9:06 am Updated: 3rd June 2018, 9:08 am DYLAN McGEOUCH has put talk about his future on hold until after he returns from the Americas with Scotland. Hibs boss Neil Lennon seemed resigned to losing the midfielder, who is out of contract after three years at Easter Road. But then Lenny revealed last week there might be an outside chance the 25-year-old could be persuaded to stay. Rangers, Aberdeen, Blackburn and QPR are all in the hunt for the Scotland new boy. And SunSport understands that Jack Ross is interested in taking him to Sunderland. McGeouch revealed: “I have just put it all on hold. “I knew I was coming away with the international squad so I just wanted to get that out of the way and hopefully get a few caps. “I will go back home after these games, sit down with my representatives and take it from there. “I am not in a rush to make any decision just now. “It has all been about trying to win my first international cap and enjoying my first international experience. “I will worry about what the future holds at a later date.” McGeouch was delighted to make his Scotland debut against Peru in Lima last week.

Les Ferdinand expects Jack Robinson to leave this summer. Yes, it's all gone quiet after his 2 week 'deadline' to agree terms last month. Suspect it will be a short 'Jack Robinson has left QPR at the end of his contract' statement on the offish. Shame, but he clearly thinks he's deserving of better - so stuff him and move on...

Don’t get this belief that Les is the problem! .. Generally think we are in a better place than we’ve been for years and all at the club deserve praise rather than condemnation. The one thing we have to get used to though is we are now a selling club and if the bid is fair then they will be gone.

Ferdinand should be the one to leave, we have gone down hill since he arrived. If he instigates selling Manning etc then i will consider forgetting all about us until we are sorted out. Where do you even get this from? Ferdinand's job isn't instigating the selling of our players. He's a Director of Football and while not perfect he's succeeded at almost every maxim of what that job is actually about and the remit set out for him. Spearheading youth development - more kids in the team than ever before, three U-23s scored on their league debut this season. Transfer policy - beyond the stupidity of getting an injured Lua Lua back in on loan again, transfer policy has been largely really strong. Barely any budget. Look at the attitude, age and developmental potential of the majority of our signings over the last few years. Big earners and wasters out the door - gigantic clear out, wage bill has been absolutely slashed. Club culture - we actually have players who graft and work hard - who see QPR as a step-up. He's instrumental in all of those elements - not solely responsible but a huge part of it. So what is it that he has done wrong that means he should leave? How have we gone down hill? Why do some sections of our fan base always end up tarring Les off for things that aren't down to him? It's weird. Says a lot if you'd be willing to forget about the club because it sold Ryan Manning. Crap as that would be.

Please tell what you base this on. The Hoos/Ferdinand partnership has been the saving of Queens Park Rangers. However, ANY bid received for any player will be seriously considered by our ownership no matter how low we may think the offer price is. WE NEED THE MONEY!

Lua-Lua has been released by Sunderland. What a decline. From Prem status with Brighton to released by a third tier club. He is probably the biggest acquisition disappointment in our recent past. Fortunately he was only on loan with us but was signed by Sunderland on a permanent contract. Sunderland currentlt getting as many players out of the door as possible. Club in crisis.

Bidwell to Millwall I would be very surprised about. More chance of us signing Gayle. I think he'd fit in well there. Not spectacular but can be very well-drilled and disciplined in a defined role and works hard, which is essentially what Millwall as a team are. Don't think it'd be a great move for him though, he's a first teamer here and why would you want to go Bermondsey more than once a season?

If we were to sell I would hope it would be just one or two players that were high value assets and then we would not have to disrupt the squad. ie Smithies 5 Million or Luongo 10 Million. Both fantastic players I don’t want to lose but if we have to we could. We have another goalie good enough to step in straight away anyway.

Wasn’t knocking your opinion but we are a selling club now with probably Luongo going if he has a good WC and Manning or the Scottish fella to slot in and the money being reinvested in defence !.. Excited to see next season if Furlong can make RB or CB his own and fingers crossed Hall will overcome his injuries .

From Sports Witness sportwitness.co.uk/former-tottenham-hotspur-man-looking-qpr-transfer-deal/Turkish giants looking at surprise move for QPR midfielderBy Sport Witness - 8th June 2018 Turkish TV Channel A Spor report Fenerbahce’s recently appointed sporting director Damien Comolli is hoping to sign Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman for the Turkish giants. A Spor say Comolli and new Fenerbahce president Ali Y. Koc are looking to build a team that will participate in the next season’s Champions League and Freeman is seen as an option. The 26 year old has enjoyed a decent season with QPR and the former Tottenham Hotspur sporting director is hoping to sign him for Fenerbahce on a loan deal this summer. Freeman joined QPR in the 2017 winter transfer window and has gone on to become one of the key players in the current Hoops team. The 26 year old midfielder played 45 league games for QPR last season, scoring 5 goals and providing 12 assists. He’s under contract with the West London club until 2020. For reasons we’re not entirely sure of, the Turkish media often think it’s far easier to loan Championship players than it probably is.

I tell you what i base it on , Ferdinand says we need to sell to fund summer additions !!!! if we already have players that are good why sell to get trialists It makes no sense at all, and thats my opinion. I am sure you have yours. That's true, but that's a club policy based on financial reality and the mess we are in, not a point decided on because we actively want to get rid of our better players and take risks on new ones. Given the chance, I wouldn't want any of the people named like Smithies, Luongo, Freeman etc. to leave - I struggle with the idea of improving while losing good players because it feels counter-intuitive. But we're in a bit of a state. We lose money even hosting games at Loftus Road as ticket and corporate sales do not cover the running costs, police, ambulance personnel etc. every match. And that's before we even touch the historic issues of FFP, former player mad contracts and all that. The only way we are able to be sustainable is by selling players who are worth money and replacing them more cheaply. Similarly, if there are positions we are in need of strengthening like CB and up top, replacements cost money and that money has to be generated somewhere. It's not an opinion thing, it's just a financial reality. So that's why I don't put it on Ferdinand. I mean, technically if you wanted to blame someone for it, then you can look back to Redknapp, Hughes and Fernandes. Or closer to home, Lee Hoos because he's the one who's getting control of our financial policy as a football club. But Hoos and Ferdinand are only dealing with the situation they have been parachuted into - they've come into a mess and have to now make tough decisions. I doubt either of them actively want to sell our good players either but we have to take our medicine or get into further debt and get into more and more trouble. If we want to be in a situation in future where we can build the squad and hold onto our talent, then we have to go through this first. And in terms of going through that, excluding perhaps Goss and Lua Lua on loan, I think we've actually been doing really, really well. High earners out, wage bill slashed, Eze, Chair, Smyth, Manning, Furlong, Kakay, Oteh all breaking through to some extent when we'd previously have spent money. And when we have spent, the likes of Luongo, Freeman, Scowen (free), Smith have all been relatively cheap and performed. Blaming Ferdinand for this is like blaming the firemen coming to put a fire out for the fire starting in the first place.
