From WLS www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/holloway-qpr-must-lightningly-quick-sign-players-summerHolloway bemoans shorter transfer windowBy David McIntyre 22/04/2018 Ian Holloway says his plans to revamp QPR’s squad this summer could be undermined by the shorter transfer window. Clubs have voted for the window to close on 9 August this year rather than at the end of the month. Rangers manager Holloway spoke after his side’s defeat at Brentford about needing to create an “identity” for his team. However, he claims the window closing early could cause problems, suggesting loan signings from Premier League clubs will be difficult to secure, and that it is therefore essential the club get their business done quickly. Loan signings, including deals with the option of a permanent transfer when the window reopens in January, can still be made up until 31 August. But Holloway said: “These windows are killing football at the moment, I believe. We’ve got an unbelievably short window in a year of a World Cup. “So let’s be honest, if you’re going to borrow some of these people on loan you’re not going to get a chance to because all the big clubs will keep them until the World Cup’s over and give their lads a rest, do pre-season and then you’re going to have nothing left. “We’re right in the middle of trying to sort things out. The work that I want to do to add to this group, we’re going to have to do it lightningly quick if we can. “What I’m looking at is the boys; where are they and can they help me next year in the Championship? “Can they help us get our own identity and get us a bit up the league?”

I'm surprised Ollie is even talking about loan deals. Most require a loan fee and a larger share of the player's wages than we could afford, and it is all dead money. We were only saying yesterday at the match that we don't have any players on loan and were happy that was the case.

theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2018/04/06/hot-luongo-targeted-trio-qpr-face-losing-midfield-maestroHot Luongo targeted by trio as QPR face losing midfield maestroMassimo Luongo's recent Midas touch in front of goal has heightened interest in the Socceroos midfielder with Malaga, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa taking note of his scorching hot form as they look to strengthen their squads for next season. With four goals in his last six Championship starts for Queens Park Rangers - and a commanding and creative display for Australia in their 0-0 with Colombia - Luongo is in career-best form heading towards the 2018 FIFA World Cup. And conjecture over the 25-year-old's future will spiral should he continue on his current trajectory and take that form to Russia in June, with the Socceroos facing France, Denmark and Peru in the group stage. Luongo's tally of six for the season comes after just one goal in the previous two campaigns for the west London club. With two years left to run on his QPR contract, Hoops director of football Les Ferdinand has long acknowledged that should Luongo add goals to his game it "be impossible to hold on to him". Luongo's mentor and advisor, former Tottenham and QPR scout David Magrone, said he is more than ready to flourish at a loftier level than Loftus Road, whether on the continent or the Premier League. "Mass is doing nothing different but the big change is that he's been scoring and that gets you in the headlines," said Magrone, who initially spotted Luongo in Sydney and brought him to Tottenham as a junior. "I have no doubt he has the capacity to play in the Premier League, and also in Europe, whether that's in Spain or Italy. "When I was at Tottenham (as chief European scout) Tom Carroll, Ryan Mason, Jake Livermore and Nabil Bentaleb all broke through. "Mass is just as good, if not better than all of them - and that's when he was at Tottenham. "He's an even better player now after 70 odd games in the Championship. "Livermore was an England international and he played alongside Mass in centre midfield for Spurs' (Under-23s). "There's no question of whether Mass is good enough, it’s a case of whether somebody will give him the chance.” Villa, who are heavily in contention for a return to the Premier League, via the play-offs, nearly signed Luongo from Swindon three years ago, and are likely to make a bid should they go up. Malaga, three points adrift at the bottom of the Primera Division, made enquiries in January and are still keen, whilst Palace - situated close to Luongo’s home in South London - are also long-time admirers. "The argument has always been he doesn't score enough goals or create enough assists," Magrone said. "But he's usually been the one who does the stuff before all those stats come into play, by winning the ball and releasing it. "But he can also create and score, if you're willing to let him play a riskier type of game. "And you can see that in recent weeks. Perhaps he's been a little more single-minded in his approach, especially when he's in and around the penalty area. "He's not so worried now about what's behind him. "He's normally one to put the team before he does himself. "Even when he doesn't have his best game, he does things that show he can handle it at a higher level. "When he's allowed to express himself at a club that plays through the middle rather than going long, that's when you see the best of him. "He's had his best games for Australia when he can run the show, as was the case against Colombia when he stepped up in the absence of Aaron Mooy."

Two more youngsters being trialed www.westlondonsport.com/fulham/football-news-qpr-looking-fulham-defender-young-man-utd-keeper-latest-updatedYoungsters Felix and Richardson on trial at QPRBy West London Sport 23/04/2018 Fulham youngster Joe Felix and Manchester United goalkeeper Theo Richardson (pictured) played for QPR’s development side on Monday afternoon. West London Sport revealed on Monday morning that right-back Felix, 18, had joined Rangers on trial along with Richardson, 19, and that they would play in the game against Crewe at Loftus Road. Aramde Oteh scored twice in a 3-1 win for the home side, whose other goal was scored by teenage striker Ody Alfa. Felix has been a regular for Fulham at Under-18 level and has also played for their Under-23 side. Richardson was on Leeds United’s books prior to signing for United last summer.

www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/020518-football-wls-qpr-brighton-uwe-hunemeierQPR are interested in Brighton defender Uwe Hünemeier. The former Borussia Dortmund centre-back’s contract expires this summer and he has indicated that he would like to return to his native Germany. However, Rangers, keen to sign an experienced replacement for Nedum Onuoha, will attempt to persuade Hünemeier, 32, to join them. They are on the lookout for defenders, with Jack Robinson expected to follow Onuoha and James Perch out of Loftus Road. The contracts of all three players expire this year and, having announced that Perch will be released, QPR subsequently confirmed club captain Onuoha will also be leaving. See also: Robinson and Onuoha set to follow Mackie and Perch out Onuoha, signed from Manchester City in 2012, had made it clear he wanted to return north, while Robinson believes he can secure a move elsewhere after impressing for the R’s this season. Hünemeier is a product of Dortmund’s youth system and made his senior debut for them in 2005. He then played for second-tier clubs Energie Cottbus and SC Paderborn before signing for Brighton in 2015. Hünemeier’s limited chances Hünemeier has made 36 appearances during his three years with the Seagulls, with 11 of them coming in the Championship during their promotion-winning campaign. He has since made one Premier League appearance this season, as a substitute, as well as featuring five times in cup competitions. His opportunities have been limited by the partnership of Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy, who have been virtually ever-present at the centre of Brighton’s defence.

It's been said before but just watching Jamie Mackie's goodbye interview on the offish has really reminded me again how important this transfer window is likely to be. It's so easy to forget with how well our young players have been doing just how much of an impact having senior players around the place makes, even if their impact is less visible to us as fans. Hearing Mackie talking about his sheer pride in playing for the club and being able to represent us in the Premier League must be so important in the dressing room/training ground with young players around, having a senior pro who not only radiates love about the club but has also been there and done it for us at the highest league level.
In the interview, Mackie talks about the chance the young players have, how talented they are and reiterating how, like with him, if you visibly put the graft in the Loftus Road crowd will support you and take you under their wing, how they have such an incredible opportunity in front of them. So it keeps making me think, for all the talent of our youngsters, just how important replacing the likes of Mackie, Onouha and even Perch may actually be. Losing experience can be at your peril so we need to be very careful.

From WLS www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/03052018-football-jack-robinson-updateRobinson given contract deadline by QPRBy David McIntyre 03/05/2018 QPR have given Jack Robinson until the end of next week to make a final decision on whether he will sign a new contract at Loftus Road. The defender, whose current deal expires this summer, has indicated that he believes he can secure a move elsewhere after enjoying an impressive season. Rangers have responded by warning Robinson not to assume their offer will still be on the table if he does not join another club. Robinson, 24, was signed from Liverpool in 2014 and immediately loaned to Huddersfield, where he suffered a serious knee injury in March the following year. Having struggled to regain fitness, last summer he was told he was not in Rangers boss Ian Holloway’s plans and could leave. However, he rejected potential loan moves and QPR’s defensive injury problems resulted in Robinson, primarily a left-back, being deployed as a central defender. He performed well in the role and has made 34 appearances this season, but appears to have played his last game for the club. Meanwhile, QPR are taking up an option to extend Aramide Oteh’s contract by a year, while Osman Kakay is among several youngsters to be offered a new 12-month deal. Striker Oteh, signed last year after being released by Tottenham, has impressed at Rangers and scored at Burton in January on his full debut. Another ex-Spurs youngster, Charlie Owens, has also been offered the chance to stay, as have Chay Tilt, Ody Alfa, Hugo Cardoso, Deshane Dalling, Charlie Fox, Giles Phillips, Jack Williams and goalkeepers Marcin Brzozowski and Seny Dieng. But Chris Paul and Zenon Stylianides – also both picked up after being released by Spurs – are being released along with keeper Conor Hunott, who was previously with Chelsea, Brandon Adams, Romeo Akinola, Alex Finney and Josh Wallen. QPR have given third-year scholarship deals to seven of their academy players, while six have been released by the club. Mus Dauti, Daniel Disubi, Jardel Francis-Adeyinka, Ethan Kaiser, Gilbert Miller and Leandro Ribeiro Mateus are to leave Rangers. ‘Hardest jobs’But Amrit Bansal-McNulty, Faysal Bettache, Myles Bowman, Caden Genovesi, Kraig Noel-McLeod, Aiden Mesias and Mickel Platt have all had their scholarships extended by another year. Technical director Chris Ramsey told the club website: “One of the hardest jobs at this level is telling these young boys that we won’t be retaining them. “They have all worked tremendously hard and we wish them the very best in their future careers. Naturally, we as a club will be doing all we can to help them with their next steps.”

David McGoldrick is wanted by a host of clubs as he prepares to leave Ipswich Blackburn want to bolster their attack with the ex-Nottingham Forest star following promotion to the Championship. Bolton almost signed him in January in a £500,000 deal but ran out of time on deadline day, with QPR also among the clubs looking at him. McGoldrick scored eight goals in the first half of the season but was hit with a groin problem that prevented him playing after February. Cardiff were interested in bolstering their attack with him for their promotion push but could not agree a fee and made it to the Premier League without him. But he is likely to stay in the Championship now after six years with Ipswich in the second tier and spells and Forest and Southampton before that.

Aberdeen have been chasing the 25-year-old, whose Hibs contract expires this summer. But several English clubs, including all three of west London’s Championship sides, are keen on McGeouch and in a position to make him a better financial offer. Blackburn, promoted from League One, have long been interested in him and reports in Scotland have suggested he is likely to move there. However, QPR have been planning to make him an offer, while Fulham and Brentford have been monitoring him for some time. He is near the top of a list of players QPR’s scouting team are set to suggest to Steve McClaren, who is expected to take over as manager at Loftus Road this week following the sacking of Ian Holloway. Hibs signed McGeouch from Celtic in 2015 after he had spent a season on loan with the Edinburgh club. He has played in England, having made eight appearances – all as a substitute – while on loan at Coventry City from Celtic in 2014.

EFL TRANSFER WINDOW - KEY DATES
The EFL 2018 summer transfer window is now open, with EFL Clubs having been able to complete domestic registrations since Monday 7 May.
This also applies to clubs who are participating in the end of season Sky Bet Play-Offs, however, any new signings will not be eligible to play in matches until next season.
The transfer window for international transfers is determined by FIFA and will open on 9 June 2018.
The closing dates of the transfer window have changed as a result of the agreement made by EFL Clubs in February 2018 to close the window for permanent transfers on Thursday 9 August 2018 at 5pm, which is aligned with the decision the Premier League opted to take in September 2017.
In addition, EFL Clubs are still able to…

From Bristol Live www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/eric-lichaj-transfer-bristol-city-1597576Who is Eric Lichaj? Nottingham Forest fans' favourite linked with Bristol City, Hull City, QPR and Bolton WanderersLowdown on the popular Forest man who could be heading to Ashton Gate By Harry Morgan 07:30, 23 MAY 2018 UPDATED 07:35, 23 MAY 2018 Bristol City are one of four Championship clubs reportedly monitoring Nottingham Forest full-back Eric Lichaj. Hull City, Bolton Wanderers and QPR are the other clubs interested in the American as he enters the final year of his contract at the City Ground. Who is he?He is an American full-back who moved to the Aston Villa academy in 2007 and went on a number of loans before leaving for Nottingham Forest in 2013. He became a regular part of the side and went on to captain the side on a number of occasions. After a successful 2016/17 season which earned him the player of the year award at the club, he became known outside of Nottingham for his brace in Forest’s FA Cup third round upset at the hands of Arsenal. Lichaj spoke before the game about a special deal made with his wife. After wanting a dog for several years, his wife Kathryn promised that he could get a dog if he scored a hat-trick. The full-back only managed the two goals but thanks to a viral twitter campaign from football fans who started the hashtag #GetEricaDog Kathryn eventually gave in. Eric appropriately named the dog ‘gunner.’ What would he bring? He is a versatile defender who can play left or right back. Bailey Wright had to fill in at right back for the injured Eric Pisano last season, but Johnson will want an out-and-out full back, after Zak Vyner spent the majority of his loan spell at centre-half. His ability to play on the left could be invaluable to City. With the increasing likelihood of Joe Bryan’s exit it provides another option for the Robins as they also look to replace Scott Golbourne. With plenty of Championship experience, he’ll bring a handful of experience at this level to Ashton Gate, as well as solid defensive capabilities. His phenomenal engine allows him to get forward often to attack which is something that Bailey Wright doesn’t bring when playing there. Forest are reportedly considering bringing in another right-back which leaves Lichaj’s future in the balance with Tendayi Darikwa also in the squad. Bristol City will need to bring another full-back and Lichaj’s experience and versatility would make him a great signing for Lee Johnson’s side.
