My 5 year old could have done a better badge. As for the Briatore badge, take off the curlly hair and it might work. But it will always be best remembered for the worst of things, greed, glutony, the Italian Job etc. There was nothing wrong with the badge prior to that other than the year on it and it is easy, just remove it.

Ah, but their lies the clubs dilemma. They are not sure that Maycey's 1886 founded is correct..

Weird thing about no2 is it reminds me of how I did the QPR logo in my schooldays. I used to put a almost identical design all over the walls. The only difference I can remember is that I just put 1882 at the bottom, rather than est 1882.

So we're going to be subjected to a 5 year old's design agreed by a committee of unprofessional "fans representatives".
What a joke. Blind Freddie could have told them this process would have come up with a disaster. Now we'll have an abomination for god knows how long. No wonder we're a laughing stock!

QPR director of football Les Ferdinand admits the club may still sell Charlie Austin next month.
Austin insisted last week that he would see out the rest of his contract and stay at the Championship side until the end of the season.
But Ferdinand fears Austin will change his mind should a top Premier League club make a bid next month.
He said: "I'm realistic and sometimes that gets people upset, but there are teams in the top six of the Premier League that are struggling.
"If one of those teams come in and bid for Charlie, he will want to go because that's where he sees himself. Charlie's goals-per-game ratio is up there with the best in the country.
"But obviously we'd love Charlie to stay until the end of the season because we'd have a great chance of making the play-offs."

I don't think either 1 or 2 are too bad. Both pay homage to our successful runs in the 70s and 80s. I'd like to see them in reverse colours, ie blue lettering on white as per the classic 1982 badge - but they're a massive improvement on the existing Briatore badge, which I've always hated. I know a lot of people have grumbled but at least these feel like 'real QPR' to and old git in his late forties like me!
But as for the 1882 debate, I understand the 1886 argument, but in 1982 the club had a big century year celebration so those of us who were around back then have always taken 1882 to be the true date.

Won't vote for any of the 5 year old drawings.
By the way what's the name of the 5 year old who did the drawings? Well at least we saved some money there. You don't have to pay 5 year olds very much!

I started this thread so perhaps I'll finish it?!
Whilst we have far more important issues on and off the pitch, the logo is seen by some, including me as being important. We all at some time rally around a badge and what it stands for. As human beings we always have and I suspect always will.
Were these designs done by a 5 year old? Whilst I understand the sentiments….no. Were they done by someone that knew what they were doing?….No
The way supposedly clever QPR management have handled this exercise is really poor as it is just a 'beauty parade' albeit a beauty parade with not particular good looking entrants.
A professional manager would have created a brief with some of the values that the badge should relate to you can then judge any design submissions against.
Have a look at Brentford and see what they have been doing as they've created some insights and beliefs about the Club.
These are they and whether you agree with them or say that some could relate to us or other Clubs… this is far better than anything we have ever done.
We think long term We're passionate about football We support our community We're open and approachable We pioneer new methods We never forget where we come from
We are Brentford We are London's local Club
Have they changed the badge? Not yet and perhaps they never will, but at the very least whoever designs it will have a professional briefing and criteria that designs can be judged against.
All we have done is to take some of the badges from the past and make them worse.
No thought no strategy.
For anyone to release designs 3 and 4 to us the fans as options worthy of consideration means that frankly they have not a clue about what they are doing.
I remain convinced after all the comments that the club missed a wonderful opportunity to create a badge we can all be proud of

Exactly MarshBowles10, exactly! We should be looking at two other clubs for inspiration. Both not doing so great on the field this season but off it, they are progressing extremely well - Brentford and Swansea.
This is a missed opportunity for sure. That's why I prefer a Hammersmith type badge. It sets the tone and is unique to the area. Yet we get 4 "logos", not badges of identity. Not everything in this world needs to be a corporate design.

If it was just a straight vote with no alternatives on offer why has the "winner" not been announced? Surely there were not so many votes that they are still counting. Maybe there were so many "spoilt papers" that a re-thing is underway ........now that would be a first (not) Need to ensure voters are genuine QPR fans and not Chelscum spoilers I would recon!

I hope Cameron does not get Rangers to be official vote counters at the general election. We would have to put with him for another year, the rate they must be counting at.

Come on guys, you know QPR. This is a big spin opportunity.
Turn up at the ground 30 minutes early for a major announcement on the pitch. There is much merriment, music and dancing girls (in Air Asia uniforms). There are some fireworks nicked from Sky Sports.
The anticipation is overwhelming. You can cut the atmosphere with a knife.
Tony is on the pitch, he is wearing jeans and a jacket, a remarkably clean blue and white scarf and naturally doffs his Air Asia baseball cap to all and sundry.
'Fans of QPR. The best fans in the World. Here at Loftus Road, the noisiest ground in the Championship I am delighted to announce the winner of the badge competition. Thank you so much for your votes and I know given the quality of the 4 options that this indeed was a difficult choice.
But there was only one winner and it won by a great many votes.
You the fans have voted for NUMBER 4.

the winner www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/qpr-new-crest-loftus-road-2925004.aspxPUBLISHED 13:55 28th January 2016 by @qprfc R's fans have voted for their favourite ... Over two-thirds of supporters voted for option two Winning crest will now be refined by lettering artist Final version will be released in due course QPR supporters have had their say on the R's next club crest – with option two proving to be a firm favourite amongst Rangers supporters. Following feedback from our initial survey and various meetings with the Supporters Consultation Committee, we narrowed down the vote to four options based on these findings – and 68.37% of 4,818 fans who cast their vote opted for option two (pictured, above). The winning crest, as is the norm during such a rebranding exercise, will now be sent to a lettering artist to be refined, thus ensuring the typography works across all club assets, including retail, marketing and digital. In the coming weeks, a brand book will also be created regarding logo usage, with a final version released to supporters ASAP. Thanks to all QPR supporters who cast their vote. See also ...
