The only reason I can see Rowett coming is because Brum are so skint the compo would come in handy. Do not like this childish attitude of didn't he have a fall out with Hoos stuff. Surely it was not that bad, be men about things, talk it through, shake hands move on. It's about what is best for QPR, personal spats are a side show.

Like to add I do not have anything against Powell, just do not think he is the man we need at the moment.
Starting to think no Pearson, then stick with NW for the remainder of the season. Hassellbaink just does not have enough fans backing, feel that is a shame. Got the feeling he will go on to big things in the future.

Though I do not like to count caretaker managers really. they have not been sacked and never got a manager contract so cannot really count them as managers really. Best of the lot? Different circumstances and era's but choose between Alec Stock and Dave Sexton imo with Jago a length behind in 3rd. Compare them to anyone being linked with us now and you will know why I am not getting excited about who the next one will be.
PS I had to look up Jack Taylor - memory's not that good!

But then so could Powell be if he has been interviewed and he will be desperate to get back in work. Maybe Pearson wants to work at a club nearer to his Sheffield home. Saying that he had inititial talks with Fulham so more likely he wont come to us because Hoos is there as you state. Have to beat Leeds, with Reading away Brighton and Burnley coming up, could see us just hovering above the bottom three by the time we play Ipswich. We need to get it right this time, Ramsey was so far out of his depth there was only place he was taking us, probably passing Burton Albion in the process. Wonder if in a month or two's time when a new Manager is in place there will be a "We got it so wrong" statement from TF? Doubt it.

El Tel, G Francis and Ollie were good Managers in their own ways, although Ollie was more a motivator. Stock in number 1, Jago, number 2, Sexton 3, El Tel 4, G Francis 5 and Ollie 6 for my two cents worth.

In that list, I included some longer-term Acting Managers. But I didnt include the one -match-in-charge... A QPR Manager who's here for two full seasons is becoming a rarity...

If you want the "Safe Pair of Hands" would seem Kenny Jackett might be the one.
Don't think he's great...But OK....But he's picked up experience with clubs.
And if owners are prepared to back a manager, could well do it.

Those stats look good but they are not just about a manager. Players come into it as well.
Take Mouron's stats as manager at Chelsea last season. Then compare them to his stats this season with basically the same players and not too difficult a set of matches to start. All logic seems to go out of the window so choosing a manager on win percentages and stats alone is not a good idea.
Obviously good stats are a good guideline but the selection process must go much deeper than that.
Reminds me of when I employed 2 people to do exactly the same jobs many years ago. One a graduate with a list of qualifications as long as my arm. Another a school leaver with a couple of GCE's - but I gave him one of the 2 jobs because he just seemed to fit in and wanted to succeed. End result was the graduate was useless - lots of "intelligence" but no common sense or application while the school leaver went on to a great career.

All you can do is look at the best Managers available to take us forward. Theres some available that wont come, Rodgers, Moyes etc . Theres some out there that have decent CVs that have managed or managing in the Championship like Pearson, Rowett etc Theres some that have just managed 50 games in League 2/1 but not in the Championship that would be a big risk JFH Any we get should be a vast improvement on Mr Ramsey IMO.

I read Moyes is up for proving himself at the 'right' Championship club.
Only thing is, with our recent history, I feel there's a lot of convincing to be done if he's to be persuaded that we are that club.
He over-performed year after year at Everton on very limited budgets. Might be dreamland, but he'd be my first choice.
I've never been convinced by Rodgers, can't stand Pearson.
A few weeks ago, I'd have been quite happy to leave Warnock in charge for the season, if it meant getting the right manager in longer term. But I get the feeling that Warnock's heart isn't in it - quite understandable given both his age and that he has personal matters to contend with.
Rowett seems to be a decent option, but can't see why on earth he'd want to leave Brum for us.
JFH - well, why not? He's done well managing Burton. He could be the next Eddie Howe. Then again, he could be the next John Carver...
Whoever we go for, it's a gamble.

Why even interview Powell ? Wtf has he done ? Would be no better than Ramsey , if we get him I will return my season ticket , absolutely pathetic choice, is this Ferdinand again ? He is probably one of the worst on the list of names mentioned , even the useless Stuart Pearce before him , my god we are a shambles !

Ie Pearson not JFH, Rowlett not Powell etc . I wonder how many candidates we are losing because we have a DOF? We are in a flippin mess.

I wouldnt be tooooo eager for any one of them...As though if we get Pearson, all will be well...As we've seen it goes beyond just the manager. Whoever we appoint has to fit within what system the Owners are going to have here. And the owners too have to appoint with that consideration

From betfair betting.betfair.com/football/championship/latest-next-fulham-manager-and-next-qpr-manager-betting-odds-251115-39.htmlChampionship: Odds hint that Fulham and QPR have found their menJimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has shown plenty of managerial promise in his 12 months at Burton Over a fortnight has passed since Fulham and QPR started manager searches, but there are odds-on favourites for both jobs... "Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has done so well since stepping in for Gary Rowett at Burton that he has emerged as QPR’s leading target, being backed in to 8/11 frontrunner status." Michael Lintorn Published: 25 November 2015 QPR sacked Chris Ramsey on November 4 and Fulham got shot of Kit Symons four days later, yet it is now the final week of the month and neither have been able to identify and recruit a replacement. It isn't entirely clear whether that is more so because of a lack of desirable candidates or their own struggles to seduce the better managers on the market - the Cottagers were recently knocked back by Reading's Steve Clarke - but, whatever the primary reason, the delay isn't benefitting either club. Even though the Hoops placed a proven Championship operator in temporary charge in Neil Warnock, they have been held 0-0 at home by Preston and beaten 1-0 by Middlesbrough since ditching Ramsey, falling 15 points adrift of the automatic-promotion pace as a consequence. Fulham have only competed once since Symons' dismissal because they got rid at the start of an international break, presumably expecting to hire his successor in the fortnight of inactivity, and that too was a disappointment as they drew with lowly MK Dons. There was also a surprise because, despite having their own Warnock on the books in Alan Curbishley, it was U21 manager Peter Grant who was asked to oversee all matchday duties. Both teams are racing the clock again if they are to make appointments before their home fixtures on Saturday, in which QPR are 21/20 to defeat Leeds and Fulham are 5/4 to overcome Preston. However, while their next bosses might not be in the dugout that briskly, there are signs that progress in finally being made, with both of the relevant markets on the Betfair Sportsbook presently being led by an odds-on favourite. Fulham are peeking higher up the Championship and wondering if they will be able to prise Gary Rowett away from Birmingham. You would think not given that the Blues currently occupy a play-off position, but odds of 4/11 indicate that they have a legitimate chance. The 41-year-old waited until being offered a job two divisions higher up in familiar surroundings before leaving Burton, so it is strange that he would appears to be open to a comparatively sideways move a mere 13 months into his transformation of the second city side. His Pirelli Stadium replacement, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, has done so well since stepping in that he has emerged as QPR's leading target, being backed in to 8/11 frontrunner status. The former Chelsea striker refused to enlighten on the subject when asked after his team's 1-0 win at Wigan though

This is the crux of the problem. As I've repeatedly said on here, any and all of the managers quoted here and by the bookies are no doubt good managers in their own right. But good managers come here and fail because the club is a shambles and the people running it have absolutely zero effing clue about how to do so with any discernible degree of competency. Pearson could have the best CV in the world but what on earth will make him succeed here now when others better than him and with arguably more money to spend failed? I really have a hard time believing that any manager can come in here and make it work based on the track record this board has of stuffing it up. Warnock prospered when Saksena and Amit instead of Briatore were allowed to run the show and, as people genuinely with QPR's best interests at heart, they left Neil alone to do it. As soon as 'Uncle Tone' came in the problems, bad decision making and crass stupidity returned and it has regrettably stayed that way to this very day. Again, the club appear to be going for the flavour of the month appointment now rather than using this time to actually take a step back and sort themselves out. There will be plenty more like Rowett, Hasselbaink and Pearson in May, June and July next year and all of them will be only too happy to take QPR's money in the belief they can make the club successful again. But this club is now at a major crossroad and it has one of two choices. Keep repeating the same mistakes in the hope that, somehow, this time you get it right despite all the evidence that tells you that you won't. Or, leave it as it is and give yourself time to fix the long standing problems before jumping back into the 'new manager pond' again. Let Warnock manage the club till the end of the season knowing its in safe hands and has a manager who knows the club, its owners, its fans and all the problems associated with it. Then, take stock of your position in May next year when you know what league you're in, what players you still have to work with and you can decide what philosophy you want to embrace. The manger you pick then should be the one who best fits what you want your club to be. Fans talk about Pearson or Hasselbaink or Rowett and all they want to do is look at the manager's win/loss record as their guide. Which is exactly what this club keeps doing and is a major reason why it keeps falling on its face. What QPR should be doing is asking itself what the hell kind of club QPR actually wants to be and how it intends to get there. The manager that's then right for us isn't necessarily the one with the best win loss ratio but the one who most matches our values and has proven he can work well in the environment we're going to be putting him into. None of that seems to be high on the list of priorities that the club are using to choose the new man here and its the reason why I have zero excitement for what I genuinely feel is going to be another managerial fiasco.

You do realise your suggestion about keeping the interim manager until the end of the season and decide a permanent manager in May is exactly what happened when we ended up with Ramsey.
