In reality all we have lost from the recent team is Fer Austin and Sandro have not been playing and we have Washington in. With big names/ earners going we may see a bit of team spirit building which I think has already showed in the last couple of games despite the results.

Must admit a little concerned about lack of activity. Presume we will get a couple of loans in. Lets not forget Jimmy H has won a single game in eleven. A couple more defeats and a couple of wins for the bottom teams and I might be concerned. Specially if we finish 22 and MKDons finish 21st. Still we have the players to get out of the 1st Division and its a league at least JFH has managed in.

Praise for Sir Les for getting the Club back on track. More than he'll get from some here! David Pleat Former Tottenham boss on BBC Radio 5 live Posted at 06:12 "Les Ferdinand has done well at QPR to get some big wages off the wage bill. He's got rid of Fer, Austin and Sandro. He's clearing the decks there to put the club on a level footing."

Looks like Phillips is staying. If he is, why buy the new bloke from Burton?

Well thank god thats over. Umm the signing of JET, three year deal and bombed out after 5 months. Not a good move from Les, as bad as the Jordan Mutch saga.
Now we have ROB GREEN cant play, leaves June JET loaned out but 2 years left this summer FER loaned out one year left this summer CAULKER loaned out , two years left this summer. SANDRO loaned out one year left this summer Traore goes in the summer , just sitting around. Gobern the same as Traore Diakite the same as above
Until we clear out this mess every time we will keep going around in circles. At least in the summer , Four are totally gone and we have to try and sell the other four if we can. Night

Not too worried about JET or Gobern, they aren't on high wages, but the others are too expensive for this league. Hopefully, between Fer, Sandro and Caulker, two of them do well enough to get signed in the top flight. While I was hoping to sell Phillips in this window, he does have another year under contract and hasn't been completely useless this season. But if the West Brom rumours were true, it would have been stupid to not take the money.

I thought it was a good window for us, actually.
Bought two good young promising players who aren't the finished article yet but are here to improve their craft and not pick up a hefty salary while doing eff all to earn it. These are the kind of players we should be looking at now.
Got a few of the overpaid tat out on loans and there's genuine hope that we never see Caulker, Sandro or Fer ever put on a QPR shirt again. Good riddance to all 3 of them and lets hope permanent deals can be done to move them on in the summer.
Moved Charlie on to a good club at the level his talent deserves and didn't lose him for nothing on a free.
Roll on the summer when a few more contracts expire and we can further distance ourselves from the disastrous Prem era signings.

Not a good window for us at all i think , oh well thats Qpr. That probably depends on your perspective. We've, temporarily, removed a large chunk of wages. I doubt whether it will be enough to avoid any punishment under the terms of FFP, but it will be taken into mitigation. It was a shame that we couldn't shift Green in particular, but if no one wants him, what can we do?

We always seem to be trying to offload and getting thro serious staff turnover. I wonder what transfer windows Burnley and Hull had? Maybe they didnt have any high earners they needed to get off the books .

Good window imo Did not overspend and moved some big costs of the books. What we have with us at the moment are good enough for our position and can be a foundation for the next couple of seasons once the rest of the big earners are off the books.
Squad v's Ipswich Defence is easy:
Smithies (Ingram on the bench) Perch (doing better but would like a loan in as well) Ned Hall Kep or Konch ( the other on the bench) Angella on the bench
Midfield and upfront take your pick from Luongo Chery Faurlin Henry Phillips Hoilett El Khayati Washington Polter Mackie
That's a decent 18 man squad for mid Championship level especially if they play as a team - the names in bold are weak links and those who I do not see as being around long term and the jury is still out on Polter but at least we should not be looking at signing 15 players again in the summer.
Maybe the most revealing bit of the window was Austins tweet to Fer - I think that shows that the well documented past divisions in the squad are still there if only to a lesser extent. Shows what Ramsey still had to cope with and until all the big earners are gone there is always going to be a problem - just my opinion of course.

One Other thing I just noticed about this group that will probably all be offloaded in the summer is Junior H. Hoilletts four year deal runs out June?
Surely we are not letting him go for free? Did he sign an extension beyond 2016 or will we give him a new deal. It wouldnt bother me if he had a new deal, a useful squad player at this level.

Still Loans: Guess we could loan out Phillips and Green? As For Hoilett - Yes he signed 4 yr deal. Don't think any extensions... He'll be 26 in June - So we get nothing for Him?? Flashback QPR Official Site Jul 27, 2012 EXCLUSIVE: JUNIOR JOINS R'S REVOLUTION www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2858641,00.html Mark Hughes has bolstered his attacking options with the signing of highly-rated Canadian starlet David 'Junior' Hoilett. The 22 year-old, who is out of contract after opting not to sign a new deal with Blackburn Rovers, has penned a four-year contract at Loftus Road, after Rangers beat off stiff competition from a number of Clubs for his prized signature. Hoilett becomes QPR's seventh signing of a hectic summer at Loftus Road, following in the footsteps of Rob Green, Ryan Nelsen, Fabio Da Silva, Ji-Sung Park, Samba Diakite and Andy Johnson. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, a delighted Hughes hailed the arrival of the attacking midfielder, commenting: "Junior is a player I know very well. "He was just a young boy trying to make his way in the game when I had him at Blackburn. It was difficult for him then because of work permit issues, but I had him training with the First Team very early on because his talent was there for all to see. "We knew then he was going to have a great future and he's certainly showed that talent over the last few seasons at Ewood Park. "He's shown he's a player of top quality and a player that can makes things happen, both on his own and as a team player. "He's certainly a player that will enhance what we've got in the group and I am delighted he's chosen to come to us." Hoilett enjoyed a season to remember on a personal level last term, scoring seven goals and providing five assists for a Rovers side who were eventually relegated to the Championship. R's fans will also remember his goal against the Hoops back in January 2011, in an FA Cup third round tie at Ewood Park which Rovers won 1-0. A delighted Hoilett told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "QPR are a Club that are certainly heading in the right direction. The ambition to take this Club to the next level was something I really wanted to be part of. "The Manager and the owners have huge ambitions to achieve things here and this is the perfect place for me to further my career." He added: "The Manager obviously played a big part in my decision to come here. He's someone I know well here having worked with him and his backroom team at Blackburn. "I signed my first professional contract under him and I will always remember that and be grateful to him. Working under such a great manager will help me to develop my skills and further my career. "I have not achieved anything yet. I am still at the early stages of my career and have a lot to learn. As a young player it is important to stay humble, and listen to your family and friends. "I'm really happy to be here and can't wait to pull on the Rangers shirt." Read more: qprreport.proboards.com/thread/32443#ixzz3yzxf0ONd

I would rather we gave him a 2 year deal than letting another one go for free. He is a decent squad player and seems to be more settled at the minute.

He is a decent squad player but what is he earning? He signed during one of our silly seasons for contracts so probably is expensive which may explain why no clubs have taken him even on loan - that plus his performances.
He really needs to turn it on consistently for the rest of the season before we consider a new contract. Problem is if he shows the form he is capable of and is a free agent in June it is more likely that some one will pick him up for free - especially if he is outside our new salary structure.
I think the law of diminishing returns comes into play in his case and he will be gone at the end of his contract. However there is no way we should loan him out in the Championship this season and leave ourselves short of options on the pitch.
I hope one day soon we can get back to discussing the merits of buying or selling based on player talent rather than money.

What is going on with Yun ?
Does not even seem to feature with the "reserves" - is he injured, out of favour or doing a Traore?

I dont think he is doing a Traore, just out of favour with Ramsey and JFH Sadly we are this junction now ..... Contracts run out in June and can both leave for free, unless we give them new deals ? GROUP 1 Hoillett Yun Rob Green cant play, leaves June on a free GROUP 2 These four we need to sell in the summer JET loaned out but 2 years left this summer FER loaned out one year left this summer CAULKER loaned out , two years left this summer. SANDRO loaned out one year left this summer GROUP 3 These three can carry on making the tea until June then leave the building. Traore Gobern Diakite

I think you need to add Phillips to the group 2 list.
In other words come June we will only have 4 big money earners to move on - Phillips Fer Caulker and Sandro. None of whom were signed in LF's reign. Phillips Is the only one currently with us, Caulker has been loaned out all season while Fer and Sandro could not have been loaned out in the summer due to injury and work permit issues.
Compared to where we were 12 months ago I think LF has done a good job in trimming the wage bill. Time to give him some credit rather than running him down if a couple of incoming free transfers have not worked out.
Plus if the likes of Smithies Ingram Washington Chery Luongo etc improve and progress........

Hoilett is only playing decent because he is in a contract year. Oldest trick in the book! Sign him on a 2 year deal and you'll see more of the same uselessness you've seen from him for the previous 3 years. If we have learnt anything then we'll let him walk in the summer. He isn't worth anything anyway and he'll be a free agent in the summer so he'll get offers. No one in their right mind wants to pay a transfer fee and then the kind of wages we're paying him on top of that.

Going from the English FA to the Welsh FA - although I could be wrong.
