I love the fact that Ramsey has got it great, let's try and stay up now . I think we have a chance It shouldn't matter two hoots if the players like the Manager or not though, should it? He's there to do a job ruffles feathers or not. Even if they didn't like someone they should just get there head down a do the job like him him not, isn't that's what there paid for. Guess I'm just old school, dinosaur attitude , roarrrrr Can't agree with this harr. Everybody in the world works harder for a manager they respect. You stay at work that little bit longer, care about how your work impacts on your manager etc. If you have no respect or really dislike him then your work is likely to be a bit slapdash. I know this has applied to me in my many years at work & that follows for professional footballers tha same as office workers, factory workers etc. The players are paid to do their job, yes. That job is playing for Queens Park Rangers & I doubt that any contract states that they have to win matches. If they are happy at work & like the boss, victories are more likely. There is no reason why they have to enjoy being a footballer any more than I enjoy accounts work. It just pays the bills.

But we know that its not an ideal world and players performances are affected by different managers. Different people respond to different personalities. Ramsey appears very enthusiastic and that looks like it has already rubbed off on the players. Redknapp, towards the end, appeared totally disinterested and without the home crowd to pump them up that is exactly how the players looked in away games. To me anyway.

End of the day, if we go down with Ramsey at least we go down with dignity and a bit of pride restored in our team. Because that's how I've felt since he took over, my pride has been restored a bit. The players love him, the other coaches at the club love him, he's a breath of fresh air. Regardless of the result against Hull I know our players are in safe hands with him coaching them On top of that, if we go down it also means we aren't potentially saddled with someone who was brought in hurriedly with the express purpose of keeping us up. Such a big difference in skillset in terms of keeping a team in the prem and re-building one in the Championship for a sustained promotion push. With that in mind, someone like Ramsay is sensible - and as you rightly say, it definitely restores a bit of pride. This was the reason I wanted Ramsey to stay on in the first place, not being saddled with a top dollar manager to keep us up. But it looks like it could work anyways after the Sunderland game. I think the main problem with this team was the coaching. While apparently Harry's dodgy knee supposedely kept him out of practices, the coaches just weren't doing their job and getting the most out of the players. In my opinion this has been the problem since McClaren left, as that was the last time it looked like the team was properly coached. Regardless, even if we go down, at least we will have more options in the summer and a better idea of what this team needs. Of course, if Ramsey does well they can certainly keep him on for the next season and see where that takes us.

If we lose to Hull, then maybe people will quickly change their mind I fully expect us to lose to Hull they are just hitting some form too, it'll be very tough to beat them at their place I think. What I do expect to see though is players acting like they give a crap, something sorely lacking in the redknapp era imho.

Takes many things to be a good/great manager.
Ideally you strengthen with others where you're weak or inexperienced
For instance: If go down, we're going to sign a whole new team again.

Proud that the club has appointed a black man as manager (all be it temporary) & another as director of football in a league where senior black management is as rare as hen's teeth

Of course I am all for happiness Terry but my point is really players coming out now saying it's great etc etc . J Barton tweeting it etc , it's like they are giving there acceptance that's all and he's there choice. In the past It was never this way, mainly because of social media I guess . My comments Terry were no way suggesting the atmosphere shouldn't be great and everyone get along, yes of course this is the right way.

So Its rather a longer chain than Just manager and director of Football. Is this a first? would be nice to have set a record to be proud of this season for a change.

Of course man management skills are Important Fabs , it's great they think Ramsey is the bees knees. Did we really need JB etc tweeting this before an announcement that's really my point, implying it's ok with him so it's ok we can get Ramsey now. Im chuffed to bits they all like him, seems a great guy.

Amongst other things, what is good about this appointment is that the new boss will be very ambitious and must surely want to prove himself as a success in the managers seat. Lets hope so! And if he keeps us up no one can dispute he is: .....the dream manager!

Then we have two Dream Managers

I wish him well. Great to see us playing with a bit of flair at last. We need to be more attacking when we play away from home . Under Arry it seemed we played like we were too scared to lose . I am sure this will change now .

I'm guessing it's been announced internally which is where all the press got it from but they're waiting probably for an interview with TF

I don't care what colour Ramsey is or whoever it is. I am only interested in their ability to do the job and hopefully get results, skin colour should have no part of it.

Probably just waiting for TF to get here, either that or the deal has been done with Ramsey until the end of the year but the want to tie up the deal with the person who takes over in August so both are done and dusted if we go down that route whether it be Clement,Laudrup etc . Certainly looking we wont know anything until next week unless it gets leaked.

Wasn't that the rumour about Sherwood. "It's his job, just drawing up the contract". We all know where that went! What is it that was said by the club - something along these lines; "It hasn't happened until its announced by the Club". It hasn't been announced so it hasn't happened yet. I have a bad feeling about this.

I would suggest it has happened. Players and staff know about it, Joey has even tweeted about it, and an announcement will be made in due course by either the official or the unoficial official.

Which if everyone was colour blind we'd expect a fair spread of Prem & Football League managers who are black. Instead Chris Ramsey becomes the only current Prem manager & only the fifth in England. Ethnic minority candidates on both the pro-licence and the league managers qualification courses was 25% in 2010 and 25% of professional players are black yet managers make up about 6%. Clearly either you believe black people are not up to it or that the system is rigged against them. So you don't need to share my pride but atleast acknowledge the disparity

QPR OFFICIAL SITE - CHRIS RAMSEY APPOINTED QPR HEAD COACH18:45 13th February 2015 by @qprfc Club appoint Ramsey until the end of the 2014/15 campaign ...QPR can confirm that Chris Ramsey has been appointed Head Coach until the end of the 2014/15 season. Ramsey will work alongside Kevin Bond (First Team Coach) and Kevin Hitchcock (Goalkeeping Coach). Director of Football Les Ferdinand will oversee the trio whilst also having a presence on the training ground for the remainder of the campaign. QPR Chairman, Tony Fernandes, told http://www.qpr.co.uk: “In the wake of Harry Redknapp’s resignation, it was my desire to identify the right individual for the job and at this time, we believe Chris is the ideal candidate. “He has impressed everyone here in his short time in charge and I firmly believe he is the right man – working closely with Les – to lead us until the end of the season.
“Chris has an opportunity now to stamp his authority and class on the position. He is part of our long-term plans at QPR.”Fernandes added: “A lot has been written and said about the position, including by myself, but the decision has been taken to defer the permanent appointment until the end of the season. “We spoke to many individuals who were interested in the role, one of whom I was quoted on as being a dream, but none of them were right to take the club forward at this time for a variety of reasons, whereas we firmly believe Chris is. “We are keen for the position to be a long-term appointment that will play a major role in shaping the future on-field progression of QPR. For that reason, it is vitally important that we get the right individual. “As a Board of Directors, we are determined to make the right appointment in the best interests of the club. “Premier League survival is our priority in the short term, but in the medium and long term we want to make sure everything is in place, from the Academy upwards, to create a lasting legacy and philosophy at QPR.” Ferdinand added: “I’ve been liaising closely with the Board over the last week or so regarding the position and it became apparent that Chris is the best man for the job at this time. “He’s settled into QPR fantastically well over the last few months. He is highly thought of by everybody and has the respect of everyone connected to the club. “He will have a huge part to play in the long-term future of this club at all levels, and we are confident that Chris, supported by the backroom staff, will be able to deliver our goal of Premier League survival.” Ramsey said: “This is a great privilege and an honour for me. I am excited about leading the club between now and the end of the season. “I believe in this group of players, the staff, and everyone working at the club. “I’d like to thank the QPR supporters for their support so far and with their backing, I am confident that we can build on Tuesday’s win at Sunderland and start to climb the table. “During this period, I will still be involved in the running of the Academy for the rest of this season and beyond. Continuity is very important when it comes to the development of young players, which is something I am very mindful of.” www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/qpr-queens-park-rangers-chris-ramsey-tony-fernandes-les-ferdinand-2266517.aspx#k3c7kI0uZlC86jrO.99
