RANGERS KO'd BY TERRIERS
RANGERS dominated this game yet it's Huddersfield that will be in the draw for the next round thanks to some pretty bad luck and inconclusive finishing.
Rangers would have scored as early as the third minute had Gavin Peacock managed to keep down his shot when Paul Marray pulled the ball back for him from the byline with Peacock onlt a matter of yards outside the goal mouth.
Then R's had a penalty appeal turned down after Gallen was played into the box only to be stopped short by the challenge of keeper Nico Vaesen.
On 42 minutes though disaster struck for Gerry Francis as Wayne Allison glanced a header past Miklosko for the only goal of the game.
The game was held up for twenty minutes after that by a freak thunder and hail storm that forced everybody to scramble for cover.
Rangers best chance of the second half came when Peacock's swinging corner met the foot of Karl Ready, but only to fire back off the bar.
In the end the luck conspired against them and they could have been worse off had Rob Edwards also not hit the bar late in the second half, but Rangers exit the Cup at the first attempt.
