Good luck mighty QPR
As Brooklyn Dodgers Owner, Branch Rickey phrased it in in the film '42" "It's another opening day...All future, no past."
And we have absolutely no idea how this season's going to go.
I think we'll be ok...I think we'll get at least a draw today - but who knows. Certainly Hull, with their Europa games, should be a lot sharper, match fit...So got to be careful.

Well I'll never again criticize Chelsea for having John Terry as Captain

Well I'll never again criticize Chelsea for having John Terry as Captain I bloody well will. John "we know what you said" Terry is in a league of his own. Lying bastard

Hope thats not going to be the story of our season! Had chances didn't put them away, were terrible in spells, good in others. Home loss against a team tipped for relegation.

Definitely not our day, so many opportunities and just not the finishing we needed. But for the most part, I did feel they played well, just need to work on some things.

Can't score for love or money. Would've taken a 0-0 just to get something from this. I know its the first game but these are the games we need to pick up points from to have any chance of survival.
You cannot afford to miss pens in this league.

Well, how did our 'new boys' play. In general, I think they did ok. They were all for moving forward instead of side or backward. Hull weren't a good team and we weren't a bad team, but they had the advantage of having already played a couple of strongly competitive games I felt. We didn't deserve the penalty but we should have scored it nonetheless. Not as dismal as it could have been - Oh G*d, I said that after the Swansea match - no, no I didn't, hope for us yet then.

JJ I wouldn't have thought many have tipped Hull for relegation? Reckon they will be fine -Haven't seen the game but at least we haven't started with a thumping so I guess that's a positive? Still disappointing though to get nothing from the game.

It's disappointing but we shouldn't even begin to compare it to the Bolton & Swansea result. We created plenty of chances, a decent number on target as well. On another day, we might have got 2 or 3 goals. Hopefully still another couple of players to come in and I honestly think things will move in the right direction. Ok, let the wailing and gnashing of teeth and the jerking of knees begin.

Just disappointing that we had a chance to take a point and we messed it up.
Have to win home games like these.

Lots of positives today: - formation worked well & everyone looked comfortable in back 3 (but still think Onuoha would be better)
- Ferdinand was particularly good (save losing Chester for the goal)
- Traore got better through the game at LWB but Simpson look uncomfortable (Isla international clearance better arrive quick)
- Mutch was a real little dynamo in midfield and found space a our players regularly, decent pace too. Barton & especially Faurlin played really well, won ball in midfield[
- Remy's pace and movement petrified Hull, he's a bit ring rusty and not fully fit but keep him and we'll be fine

I agree with pretty much all of that, was very happy with Rio, minus the goal given up. Thought our midfield played well, Faurlin looked very good. Simpson is in over his head at the position, but Traore will be fine and once Isla is cleared he will be playing. Remy could be key to this season and Austin started to get more into the game as time went on. It will be a learning process for Charlie, but I think he will fine and well paired with Remy. The thing is, this entire team hasn't played together yet and I think with more time together will be fine. Also, I don't think Hull are relegation candidates, they have a talented team and a good manager.

Was at the game today and I must say this is the best I've felt after a defeat in a while. New formation seemed to work quite well apart from a few occasions where Traore was position way too far forward and left Dunne a little exposed. Have to say Caulker and Ferdinand were immense, so physically imposing and great on the ball too. Rio just a class above apart from the fact he did lose his man on the corner they scored from.
On the attack, Mutch was good I thought but perhaps went missing a little sometimes, Remy seemed dangerous, had a few decent chances. Austin seemed off the pace massively and a little static, looked to be struggling fitness wise to me. Me and all those around me had a feeling he would miss that penalty just from his body language before, the big pressure of getting his first Prem goal obviously got to him which is unfortunate but he'll bounce back I'm sure.
Biggest negative for me was Barton's set pieces, my god they were awful. Corners rarely beat the first man.

Thanks Roryr
That's like Barton when he first joined and he was taking all the corners and free kicks (without any working)
