Hope you dont mind me asking stocky, i wouldn't expect you to remember though considering the importance of the day for you and your family and having a lot to take in on the day, thought I'd go for the long shot though, worked for Mcleary

And Stock's famed 1949 Yeovil FA Cup Win Over Sunderland About that win "...In the build-up to the game, Yeovil player-manager Alec Stock attempted to give his players a psychological edge over their opponents. He exaggerated the steepness of the sloping pitch at Huish, and refused to allow the Sunderland players to train on the pitch.[7] The official attendance for the match was 17,123, although it is believed that many spectators without a ticket also made it into the ground, and it is estimated that somewhere between 18,000 and 19,000 watched the game.[8] ....Yeovil started the match strongly, with Sunderland struggling to cope with the home side. After coming close to scoring on a couple of occasions, Yeovil then took the lead in the 28th minute. Sunderland failed to defend a lobbed free kick, and the ball was played to Alec Stock on the edge of the penalty area, who turned quickly before shooting towards the right hand side of the goal beyond the reach of Sunderland goalkeeper Johnny Mapson..... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeovil_Town_v_Sunderland_(1949)

I was chatting with Fay Lazarus yesterday and she said that Mark is going. Funny story attached to that. Apparently Mark was concerned because of all the bad weather and rang the club on 14th February to ask if the Yeovil game was "still on tomorrow" or if the pitch was waterlogged. The response he got was that the game he was enquiring about is on 15th March, not 15th February! For all that, he is still going. Seems strange that all he had was a call asking if he wanted to go. He said "yes" but has heard nothing since. Same applies to me. I have accepted the invitation but no details yet. From what Fay said, Mark was not even aware that it was an Alec Stock tribute day - just another match.

I've had a few emails from Ian Taylor-latest ones to do with the programme. He has said he will be contacting me next week -presumably with details as to timings for the day. That may be the same for all the guests? Not sure-just a guess!

'My grandad Alec Stock would be proud of Yeovil Town ahead of QPR clash'
By rpeasland | Posted: March 09, 2014 1351320 Comments (0) YEOVIL Town legend Alec Stock would be astounded and full of pride at the club’s achievements on the pitch in recent seasons. That is the view of his grandson Rob Taylor who is looking forward to this weekend’s emotional clash between QPR and the Glovers – both formerly managed by Mr Stock. The fixture at Loftus Road has been dubbed Alec Stock Day in recognition of his time at the London club, but it is his endeavours in south Somerset that will live long in the memory for his grandson. Mr Taylor said: “It’s going to be an emotional day I am sure. I always look out for Yeovil’s games and I have always got a soft spot for them – it’s hard not to have an affiliation with the club he shared so many happy years with and who treated him so well. “We are very pleased it’s going to be against the Glovers, with Yeovil being my grandad’s main club and main love over the years.” Mr Stock passed away in 2001 at the age of 84 and will forever be remembered at Huish Park with an executive lounge named in his honour. He masterminded Yeovil’s giant-killing FA Cup triumph over Sunderland in 1949 and his grandson believes he would have been so proud to see the club battling valiantly in the SkyBet Championship. He said: “I think he would be astounded at where Yeovil are now. The year before he died, Yeovil narrowly missed out on promotion and it was emotional for us when Gary Johnson earned promotion the following year – he would have loved to have seen them as a fully-fledged football league side. He would be full of pride to see what Yeovil have achieved since. “He spoke about Yeovil all the time – it was the love of his football life, nothing gave him greater pleasure going back to Yeovil in his retirement. “Everyone talks about the Sunderland game but Yeovil meant much more to him than that one game, he loved the fact that it’s a family and a community club. “The whole family is very much looking forward to the game and it’s quite interesting how it all came about. “There is a column in the Guardian which looks at football’s forgotten stories and there was one about my granddad’s sacking from QPR. “He had led them to back-to-back promotions and was on the brink of leading them to the old Division One. He was suffering from asthma and was off for quite a while and they gave him the sack. “The article got the QPR online message boards buzzing with people disgruntled at the lack of recognition the club has given my granddad for what he had done and I think QPR wanted to put it right – they have been very good to us through the whole process. “It is going to be a great tribute to him and I think it’s lovely in the modern game that clubs recognise their legends in this day and age of short-termism. “He played an important part in my life, even now – he was a real inspiration to me and some of my proudest possessions are the memories of his football career and the awards he was given.” The Western Gazette is urging supporters to Go Green! in support of Yeovil Town as they continue to pick up points in the battle to secure another season in the Championship. It will be nice (albeit perhaps more than a little sad) to have all the old players back at Loftus Road

I have just had an email from Andy Evans confirming that tickets will be waiting for me at South Africa Road on Saturday. A nice outing for my Mrs even though she is not really up with football and has even been known to cheer the wrong team!
We are going to be entertained to snacks and drinks in the Directors Lounge where we will be chatting to those survivors of the Stock team who are present and will then watch the game from the Directors Box.
Don't forget to wave to me!

The plan as I know it: applause prior to the match with family/ex players on the touch line. (Although they are waiting for the OK for this from the League?)Half time-Q&A session on pitch with ex players -presentation to the family from both clubs. There is also planned Q&A sessions with ex players prior to the match - I think one session is in the club shop-one in W12?
This was a draft plan - may be changes as not all those invited are in the best of health.Family attending is myself, elder sister, dad's three grandchildren ( plus two spouses) and his first great grandchild ( my granddaughter who is two, cute, and I am sure may steal the show.)
I may be asked to say something; I will try not to let Dad down - but please bear with me if I'm a bit emotional!
Am now having nightmares about my car breaking down en route ( from Dorset)!!
See you on Saturday! Sarah

I am delighted that the club are doing this and really hope that Sarah and the rest of the family have a great day. I am going to the match with a couple of non-Rangers friends and I hope they will see the best of QPR on Saturday. I will be clapping like a maniac in the Upper Loft and who knows, maybe we`ll even get the Alec Stock song going! I am impressed at the club for doing this to help redeem a black spot in our history, and it was a wonderful idea to have it for the Yeovil game, as he clearly loved that club and meant a great deal to their fans, too. To the top with Alec Stock....
