Just wondered whether in any of the books or information on QPR players, is there a mention of Brian Skingley?, I ask as I was talking to his son after the Palace game, and he told me that his dad, Brian, used to play for both QPR and Palace.
Brian unfortunately passed away quite sometime ago, so I was hoping to find something about him at QPR, he played only 1 season at QPR, and he was captain on one occasion, Alec Stock was manager at the time - any info?

Moriarty, in the history of QPR, Alex Stock, became manager in 1959, the position he held until, 1968. In the book, during this period, there is no mention of a player named Shingley.
Reading through this period what I found interesting, was that prior to Jim Gregory joining QPR in 1964, he was a board member at Fulham, but as he did not feel happy there, he left, to join QPR.
Another interesting fact was that in Alex Stock,s final season 67-68. QPR were promoted to the 1st Div. having finished 2nd, on 58pts, 1pt, behind Ipswich. The club we pipped for promotion was Blackpool, they also finished on 58pts, however the final margin was 0.21 of a goal.

1967/1968: My first (and last? ) season of going to Loftus ROAD Great days... (Another interesting (to me) snippet: Two seasons later, in 1969/1970: QPR had been relegated and Stock long-since axed: One of the first few games of the season, QPR smashed Blackpool 6-1 with a Rodney hatrick. At the end of the season, it was Blackpool (with the brilliant Tony Green) who were promoted rather than QPR

Moriarty. I have read through the history of QPR from 1959, when Alex Stock, became manager until, 1968, when he resigned, and found no mention of Brian Shingley. What I found interesting was that prior to Jim Gregory arriving at QPR, in Nov. 1964, he had been a board member at Fulham.
Also interesting was that in the season 1967-1968, Alex Stock,s last season in charge, QPR, were promoted to the First Div, having finished, on 58pts, one point behind Ipswich. Amazingly we pipped Blackpool, by just 0.21 of a goal.
