QPR Official Site - DANNY SWEEPS THE BOARD
RANGERS defender and long time servant Danny Maddix, swept the board at Saturday nights Player of the Year dinner.
Danny made his League debut in November 1986 during a loan period at Southend United whilst still a Spurs player. Rangers snapped him up on a free transfer in July 1987 and he made his debut for the club in November 1987 at Sheffield Wednesday.
Danny's career was almost finished by a foot injury a couple of seasons back but the player, who many regard as one of the best man markers in the League, seems to have made a complete recovery.
Danny was awarded Player of the Year, Player's Player of the Yearand the Loyalty Award.
Gavin Peacock won the QPR Financial Services Player of the Year. Richard Langley picked up the Young Player of the Year
Before presenting the awards, QPR Chairman Chris Wright spoke to supporters and assured the gathered assembly everyone at Loftus Road was totally focused on keeping the club in Division One.
He gave a poignant reminder that Saturday's victors at Loftus Road, Bradford City, who are now poised to secure automatic promotion to the Premiership, were themselves struggling to avoid the drop only two seasons ago.

GERRY'S BATTLE CRY
QPR's Director of Football Gerry Francis was in resilient mood when he assured all R's fans that the team would fight to the death to ensure first division football at Loftus Road next season.
Speaking after the disappointing 2-1 defeat by Bradford at the weekend, he told supporters gathered at the QPR Player of the Year Awards that his squad were steeling themselves for the crunch trip to Port Vale on Saturday, where a victory should guarantee safety from the drop.
Vale have a crucial home game against promotion seeking Watford on Tuesday night and three points against Graham Taylor's side would see them leapfrog Rangers in the table.
The other massive game in Division One on Tuesday sees Bristol City take on Crewe at Ashton Gate and a win for the Railwaymen would put further pressure on Rangers at the foot of the table.
However Gerry Francis is determined not to let R's slip back down into one of the relegation places.
" It's not over yet. We've worked very hard to pull out of the bottom three and there is no way we are going to drop back down there," said Gerry.
