Just one thing to point out though - Air Asia is a fairly profitable airline - or at least every site that I have gone into has more than ndicated that it is making decent profits. (USD 112 mill in 2012 - which is more than most airlines are doing these days). If they are making huge losses, as suggsted here, then I haven't read about it.
That of course doesn't necessarily mean that you can handle a football club like an airline. But if we are going to criticize the person then stick to the facts.

I didn't understand that bit. In what context did someone say the Airline was unprofitable? Whatever the case, the Club's losses are the Club's.
If they were the Airline's, or, better still, perhaps, Fernandes's, that might be different. Especially if we knew he was going to walk away with them, and the Club wouldn't be liable for his mistakes.
But maybe that's why things are as they are.
If the people making the decisions aren't liable for the losses they are responsible for, and none of them take responsibility for the losses their predecessors have run up, but they still walk away with tens of millions - maybe even tens of millions in profits themselves - then it is worthwhile asking whether the aura of benevolence, competence and dedication masks something far more unpleasant.
Even if it is just much bigger losses, that is bad enough.

Right Ingham. Bernie and Flavio spent lunch money on the club, and although Bernie said we are giving
the club away, walked away with a tidy profit.

Tricky one, maude's!
Probably a long list, although Les Allen might just shade it - the mastermind! Otherwise, the usual ones, from Clive Clark (and a personal favourite, Ron Hunt) to Rodney and Stan, and less showy players like Clive Wilson (what a stylish performer, beautiful to watch, elegance and economy), Paul Parker (as a sweeper/man marker) and even Terry Fenwick, who did so much with nothing obvious to show he would stand out.
That's just a sample, and I have to admire Adel's twinkling skills, of course! ;D
But yeah, Les Allen, by a whisker or two, I'd say.
And yours?

Lowest cost always wins? Presumably that is why he reduced QPR's sky-high tickets to the lowest in the Premiership. And is keeping wages down, too. Like his airline, the losses are soaring. Such careful economy Read more: qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=35464&page=2#ixzz2OXu0xxa3Maybe I am misreading it - and that you were comparing "growth" of our losses to a plane taking off. It sure didn't come out that way though. As I am in the finance business I don't need a lecture about the club's losses not being the airline's losses. I know that - they are 2 seperate entities - and you will notice that I specifically stated that running an airline is not necessarily the same thing as running a FC. Of course you are right about asking whether those losses belong to the club or the owner. I'm on the fence on this one - but if TF had to go tomorrow - then what? As they say "be careful what you wish for".

The way Air Asia is being run and the profits it declares tells me Tony is a very good businessman and knows how to make money for himself and his fellow shareholders
The way QPR is being run and the losses it declares tells me the same thing.

Bump a year Bump a year and a few days... QPR OFFICIAL SITE
TONY: MY LIFELONG COMMITMENT
PUBLISHED12:39 18th March 2013 by @officialqpr R’s Chairman urges fans to focus on the future … QPR Chairman Tony Fernandes has spoken of his “lifelong commitment” to QPR following Saturday’s disappointing loss at Aston Villa. Rangers find themselves seven points adrift of safety after the 3-2 loss at Villa Park, and while Fernandes admits he is “feeling miserable,” he has urged R’s fans to “show the world what type of club we are” and says they should be excited about the future. In a personally written message that he has asked to be shown to “all our fans and staff,” Fernandes said: “I sit here in Malaysia feeling miserable. I am down. The fact that I and my other shareholders are feeling so miserable just means we care. “We should have won at the weekend and made it easier for ourselves, but we didn't. So what! “There are still eight games to go. We beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and showed against Southampton and Sunderland that we are capable of putting wins together. “And we have scored seven goals in our last three fixtures, so anything can happen. “We fight and we fight. I am not despondent at all. QPR has come a long, long way from where we were, and the plan continues. “We inherited a club that lacked so many things, and we are rebuilding every aspect. That's a huge challenge. “In any business there will be hiccups. But this is not a one-year or two-year project. This is a lifelong commitment.“The shareholders have that commitment. The journey ahead is so exciting. “We need a new training ground, a new stadium, a more successful academy. That's so exciting. How can anyone feel down for too long?“Forget Aston Villa. Focus on the future. The path in front of us is exciting. “So come on, let's show the world NOW what type of club we are. We’re a club that believes, a club that has passion, and a club that never gives up. Kind regards Tony www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/180313-tony-my-lifelong-commitment-721625.aspx
