With the amount of background staff Hughes has bought in and with an overstretched PR department now adding personnel as well this is just further investment off the pitch in another needed area where previously it was jobs for the boys but now it seems to be far more professional. Well argued. In comparison to the previous 10-12 years what we have at the moment in terms of backroom personnel is far more professional than before. Though if you feel that it was the opposite under Pallidini, please state your case, as I feel that in that time everything was done as cheap as possible, the youth set up was criminally underfunded and neglected and fans who were willing to do the bidding of Palidini thru concerted campaigns of lies against fellow fans were rewarded with free seats and jobs they are not qualified for which shows thru via their entire lack of professionalism in their job. Something Fernandes has inherited rather than actually caused.

It is worrying that the people in charge of certain departments have not highlighted to the new owners or the CEO that individuals not fit for purpose are in the employ of the club and infact some are even more involved.
The people who run these departments have a case to answer, so the lack of professionalism still persists.

Me too.. 10th...We finally had a premier class strike force of Zamora and Cisse... Strengthening without the team... Guaranteed to do well - especially since Hughes was known as a slow starter - which, silly me, I took to mean one time, when he first took over at a club. I also thought with that giant team of staffers, that he had made himself unsackable! (Speaking of which, I know they're still on the staff list, but I havnt seen Riggs or the other man quoted recently - maybe in the programme?)

It hasn't changed in the past 40-50 years, it what clubs do to sell tickets and generate new fans, as negative publicity coming from the club would of course reflect badly upon it and hurt such commercial ventures. The media department are not there to talk to the fans in a realistic tone, but to represent the commercial interests of the club. I referred to Palidini as your post was so vague, your apparent comment on Taylor and the media was lost in it and as mine was about how the club was run it was merely obvious to compare to the most recent owners as that was apparent in my the point I made in my post. My syntax made that clear, your smilie face left a lot to interpretation but enough room to back track I guess. I'm out.
