Reading official site - Doyle - We wanted to stop the rumours

Kevin Doyle says his new contract will put an end to any uncertainty about his future during the next transfer window - and he is determined to help get back up into the Premier League with Reading at the first time of asking.
Doyle, 25, has signed a deal until the summer of 2011, and the news has given the Royals a huge boost in their push for promotion.
Kevin told readingfc.co.uk, "We wanted to act now and then concentrate fully on the season. That's the idea behind signing the contract now and putting to rest any stories in January.
"We've done it before the window to stop all of that. I have gone up with Reading in the past, now I've come down with them too. To go up again would be an even bigger achievement this time and I would like to be part of that.
"The Club and I didn't want uncertainty in January, we wanted to clear things up now and then just try to get back into the Premiership in what is a massive season for us.

"We said 'how can we stop the rumours in January?' and the Club have been very good to me with contracts ever since I joined. Nick Hammond, the Chairman and the manager have all been good to me and this was done quickly, it wasn't something we'd planned.
"All of us were responsible for last season, myself just as much as anyone. I'd like to right the wrong and help us have a good season to get into the Premiership. We're all ambitious, I want to play on the biggest stage I can, and if we get back up it would be a great achievement."

He has made a total of 121(+15) appearances in a Reading shirt, and has scored a total of 49 goals in all competitions for Steve Coppell's men.
