An amazing signing but I do worry about our ever increasing wage bill. Our knockers are having a field day laughing at how we're going to end up like Portsmouth on the Daily Mail's website.

To be honest, they have just as much foresight we do. We have no idea how it is all going to pan out, and neither do they. This whole house of cards relies on the structure remaining in place, and by that I am talking about Hughes and the major shareholders. If any one of those leave (and I am not entirely certain that MH is crucial) then we might be looking at a Portsmouth situation. On the other hand, we have been there before but without this high (I know, I know we were fifth back in 92-93, but the PL is a very different beast now).

Sorry I asked for this one, but......im not sure what netminder would be worth a 4 year contract at 32 years old.
How much did they pay for him?

Looking through the early comments on this thread. Lots of posters thought a four year deal would be crazy. Even me

Well after just reading the official site pleasing its finally happened and he has moved on . Paying those wages was killing us , better spent on strikers . Wish him the best of luck elsewhere . mobile.qpr.co.uk/news/article/190814-julio-cesar-leaves-qpr-by-mutual-consent-1832533.aspxBrazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar has left QPR by mutual consent with immediate effect ... QPR have agreed to release goalkeeper Julio Cesar, with the player set to sign for Portuguese side Benfica. The Brazilian, who was contracted until June 2016, has left Loftus Road by mutual consent with immediate effect. The 34 year-old joined QPR on a free transfer in August 2012, going on to make 27 starts in all competitions. The club would like to thank Julio for his services to QPR and wish him all the best for the future.

Absolutely not. We need a backup goalie. He can be elderly. But he has to be able to step in a play for a few games....if necessary if injury - OR if Green loses form. Players need competition.

But who? who are you going to get that is of sufficient quality but would be prepared to sit on the bench for most of the season?

But who? who are you going to get that is of sufficient quality but would be prepared to sit on the bench for most of the season? Mark Schwarzer is Chelsea's 3rd keeper. He might be tempted to come to QPR as No 2.

I think Kenny has probably burned himself too badly...Any ex-goalies of that age/experience who played for Redknapp in the past?
(Or it could even be a very promising young goalie on a season loan)

Doesn't want to play 2nd fiddle at Chelsea, can't see him wanting to warm the QPR bench, especially given he'd have to take a pay cut.
