I like that flower arrangement (Who Signed the QPR Pennant?) The pennant was signed by all the team. I was delighted this evening to get a phone call from Betty. BP kindly gave me an address for Betty and Brian and I sent them a complimentary copy of my book as a belated anniversary present. Betty called to say "Thank you" which I greatly appreciated. We had a really good natter about the old days for about half an hour and will hopefully keep in touch as I am going to make up a bound copy of the Lazarus interview and send it to them.

QPR loving couple celebrate 60th wedding anniversaryPosted by Jack Abell on Jul 12, 12 04:50 PM in Chalfont St Peter chalfontstpeter.buckinghamshireadvertiser.co.uk/2012/07/qpr-loving-couple-celebrate-60.htmlA FOOTBALL mad couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with a family party. Betty and Brian Herrington, of Lansdown Road, Chalfont St Peter, have been married since 1952. They have lived in the same house since it was built for them 57 years ago. Mrs Herrington, whose maiden name was Payne, has lived in the village all of her life. Mr Herrington was born in Windsor and moved to Gerrards Cross as a child. They met through the Guide and Scout movement, marching in church parades and then through meetings between the two groups. They were engaged in 1948, and eventually married in 1952, two years after Brian had completed his national service. They started married life living in a flat in Gerrards Cross before moving to their current home in 1955. The pair have two children, Ian, born in 1960, and Louise, born in 1965. Mrs Herrington was brought up as a Watford fan, and her husband was a QPR supporter, and they divided their weekends going to watch the two teams. However, he eventually won, getting her to follow QPR as well. Last season was the first time they did not renew their season tickets in 65 years. On Sunday, the couple held their party in the village guide hut, with entertainment from a professional singer. chalfontstpeter.buckinghamshireadvertiser.co.uk/2012/07/qpr-loving-couple-celebrate-60.html
