Forest are on the brink of a Kuwaiti takeover, in the form of the multi-millionaire Al-Hasawi family, and considering replacing Steve Cotterill in time for the new season. Neil Warnock, who is understood to have been considering his future at Leeds United this summer, is another possible alternative. Peterborough's information is that Gianni Paladini, the former QPR chairman, is acting on behalf of Forest. Paladini, who featured prominently in the infamous QPR: The Four-Year Plan documentary, left his consultancy role at Loftus Road after the Tony Fernandes takeover last year.

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has been approached to take over as manager of Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, according to reports. Nottingham Forest are said to be in danger of being reported to the Football League over the alleged approach. It is thought the Trees’ current boss Steve Cotterill may be replaced when an impending takeover by Kuwaiti multi-millionaires is finalised. Darragh MacAnthony is currently in Barbados but the Peterborough Telegraph have approached him for a response to the allegations. On Twitter, MacAnthony mentioned “strange” events that happened yesterday but didn’t go into any further detail. The chairman wrote: “Been a ‘strange day’ on footy front but I should never be shocked like I was today.” Former QPR chairman Gianni Paladini is said to be acting on behalf of Forest to broker a deal to bring Ferguson to the City Ground. No statement has been made by the club, but Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony tweeted a derogatory message about Paladini last night. Replying to rumours of the Kuwaiti takeover, Macanthony wrote: “I’d be worried for Forest fans if it involved Paladini... they deserve better then him that’s for sure.” Nottingham Forest finished 19th last season - one place below Posh. www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CAUQqQIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.peterboroughtoday.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Fdarren-ferguson-allegedly-approached-by-nottingham-forest-1-4008916&ei=lvnuT4qsPIT28QPHnqT6DA&usg=AFQjCNGH-NpJcqfRbVA9d5DDz7xwbxk3Aw&sig2=v-FFx6Y6ZG5O20OpTFUWrA

Good to see again a picture in the News of the Gaffer (or "The Saviour")! ;D MIRROR Posh fury: Peterborough owner set to report ex-QPR chief after alleged attempt to poach Darren Ferguson for Forest Peterborough’s information is that Gianni Paladini has approached Ferguson regarding a possible appointment at Forest once the takeover is completed next week. Posh boss: Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson is reportedly a target for Nottingham Forest Posh boss: Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson is reportedly a target for Nottingham Forest Darragh MacAnthony will report Gianni Paladini to the Football League within the next 24 hours for an alleged attempt to poach Darren Ferguson as the new Nottingham Forest boss. Peterborough owner MacAnthony has cut short a family holiday in Barbados and is fuming at former QPR chairman Paladini’s bid to pinch Ferguson. Paladini is believed to be acting on behalf of the multi-millionaire Al-Hasawi family who are close to securing their buy-out at Forest. Peterborough’s information is that Paladini has approached Ferguson regarding a possible appointment at Forest once the takeover is completed next week. Gianni Paladini former chairman of Queens Park Rangers The Championship club stress they are not intending to report Forest and believe there has been no untoward actions by anyone at the City Ground. But MacAnthony has vowed to make an official complaint to the Football League over the alleged behaviour of Paladini, who is thought to have been promised the role as chairman at the City Ground. The Al-Hasawi family appear intent on replacing current Forest boss Steve Cotterill and are also believed to be considering a move for Leeds United boss Neil Warnock. Oops... Nottingham Forest takeover: Chance for Steve Cotterill to carry on Monday, July 02, 2012Nottingham Post STEVE Cotterill is likely to be given the opportunity to prove he is the man to lead Nottingham Forest into the Premier League. The Reds manager has been informed that he is almost certain to be given the chance to rebuild the City Ground squad, once a takeover led by the Al-Hasawi family is completed – which is likely to happen this week, possibly within the next 72 hours. Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cotterill. Fawaz, Abdulaziz and Omar Al-Hasawi have been granted an exclusive period of negotiation by the lawyers representing the estate of Nigel Doughty. The Kuwaiti family are understood to have not only provided proof of funding, but established they have substantial funds available to finance a push for promotion to the Premier League. Peterborough United are considering whether to report Gianni Paladini, the former QPR chairman, for an alleged illegal approach for Posh manager Darren Ferguson.
Reds officials were horrified that such actions were allegedly being taken at a time when a takeover has not even been completed.
And the Post understands that, despite his actions, Paladini is unlikely to play any part in the club hierarchy if and when any deal is completed. In addition, the Al-Hasawi family are now leaning towards the idea of giving Cotterill a chance to continue as Forest manager. He could be given the chance to begin his rebuilding job as early as next week, as Forest look to address a crippling lack of depth in the squad. While the Al-Hasawi family appear to have the resources to back a big transfer market push, the club will still have to carefully monitor their spending to ensure they remain within financial fair play rules. Seymour Pierce, the investment bank appointed to broker the sale of the Reds, had, for several weeks, been in discussions with three separate interested parties. One of the groups had already dropped out of the running, when the two remaining parties were ask to provide proof of funding. At that stage, another group – also believed to be based in the Middle East – had been leading the race to complete a takeover. Seymour Pierce were understood to be shocked when that consortium failed to do so – but the Al-Hasawi family were able to demonstrate their ability to complete the deal and are now likely to be unveiled as the new owners this week. www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/story-16474922-detail/story.html?
