www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2817425,00.html EXCLUSIVE: GREEN SEALS R'S MOVE Posted on: Thu 21 Jun 2012 England international goalkeeper Robert Green has agreed a two-year deal at Loftus Road. The 32 year-old shot-stopper's deal will commence on July 1st following the conclusion of his contract with West Ham United. Green, who is currently with the England squad at the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine, has a wealth of experience at domestic and international level, having made over 480 Club appearances throughout his career. Rangers boss Mark Hughes expressed his delight at attracting one of England's finest to Loftus Road, commenting: "It was important we brought another quality keeper into the group. "Rob is obviously someone with vast experience at international and Premier League level and his pedigree speaks for itself. "He's got all the characteristics of a top keeper and he'll be a huge addition for us who will stimulate the goalkeeping group, which can only be good for the squad as a whole." Green, who has made 12 starts for the Three Lions, said: "I'm delighted to be here. "I'm excited about the challenge ahead and hugely encouraged by the direction in which the owners and Mark Hughes are looking to take the Club. "It's an exciting period for everybody connected to QPR and I can't wait to get started."
QPR OFFICIAL SITE Jun 21, 2012 ROBERT GREEN: IN PROFILE Posted on: Thu 21 Jun 2012A professional career that has spanned 13 years, QPR represents Robert Green's third Club. Green began at Norwich City, coming through the ranks at Carrow Road before establishing himself as their first choice keeper after a brief apprenticeship behind the experienced Andy Marshall. Green made his debut for the Canaries against local rivals Ipswich Town on April 11th 1999, aged 19. He kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw and, following Marshall's departure for the Tractor Boys in the summer of 2001, Green was a regular in Nigel Worthington's side. He produced an outstanding debut campaign as No.1 and kept 18 clean sheets as Norwich reached the Championship Play-Off Final, where they lost out to Birmingham City on penalties. The following campaign, Green was an ever-present and recorded 19 clean sheets to further enhance his quickly-developing reputation. And it wasn't long before then-England Manager Sven Göran Eriksson rewarded him with a call-up to his squad. Green was an un-used substitute against Sweden in March 2004. Two months later he was celebrating promotion with Norwich City - his 18 clean-sheets being a crucial part of their return to the Premier League. Norwich were relegated the following season while Green became only the sixth player in the Club's history to be capped for England at senior level when he replaced David James in a friendly against Colombia on May 31st 2005. In the summer of 2006, following their failure to win promotion, the Canaries accepted a bid reported to be £2million from West Ham United for their keeper. In his first campaign with the Hammers, Green found himself involved in another relegation battle, but he played a key role as the East London side preserved their top-flight status with a 1-0 win at Manchester United on the final day. In 2007/08, Green's consistency between the sticks - which included saving three consecutive penalties - led to him being named Hammer of the Year as the Club finished tenth in the top-flight. In the following two campaigns, Green played in all 38 league matches for West Ham and in 2010/11 he made a total of 44 appearances for the Club and was yet again hugely consistent, being named Hammer of the Year runner-up behind Scott Parker. However, he was unable to save the Club from relegation that term. In 2011/12, he made 42 appearances for Sam Allardyce's side, including a Wembley outing, as the Hammers won promotion back to the Premier League courtesy of a 2-1 win over Blackpool in the Play-Off Final. On the international scene, Green missed out on the 2006 World Cup Finals owing to injury and made his first start for his country - following two substitute appearances - in a 4-0 win against Kazakhstan in a 2010 World Cup qualifier. Green featured in the 2010 World Cup Finals, making one appearance, and was also named in Roy Hodgson's squad for this summer's European Championships in Poland and Ukraine, keeping a clean sheet in a pre-tournament warm-up fixture against Norway.

This has made QPR trend world wide on Twitter which is very impressive. Was just reading some opinions from West Ham fans and they are calling him a sell out and saying this is a huge step backwards for him.

Welcome Rob,
In some ways a little bit of revenge on the Hammers for that dreadful day (which i will never forget)in 1979 when i found out from my Hammers supporting nephew that Parkesy had gone East!!!.Not as bad as 3 years earlier losing the championship to Liverpool but for shock value it is up their with it.
Cheers,
Jay

I'm delighted! He has some amazing reflexes, he's reliable. Maybe he could improve in commanding the back-line, and in the aerial play, but even if it's his weakest point, he is still better for that than Paddy Kenny was.
A massive improvement on what we had. Now I hope we also sign some young lads. We need experience, but I don't want us to have a starting-11 of 30-somethings.

Really good signing.
Not so long ago Paladini was signing dodgy keepers to line his own pockets. Now we have England's number 2.

Good to see it being made official. I reckon this signing is worth an extra 4 or 5 points a season.
West Ham fans make me laugh. I think they're going to get a big shock this season if they think they will finish higher than us. I think they should be hoping to just about stay up.

Who fumbled in a ball in world cup? He's a very good keeper, I know a couple of West Ham fans (they have a big following in Sweden), all of them sad and/or angry about this. He has been very good for them. He is judged on one mistake!
