Wolfsburg for $4.5 million is a joke. We would only sell for 8 or 9 mil. Plus I think he is happy now and seems to be good friends with Diakite and maybe Cisse.

What happened to that Brazilian kid we nearly signed in Jan but for a work permit/visa that couldn't be processed in time or was denied (same thing). I can't remember his name. Anyone know?

Shay Given may have had a great season in a poor Villa side but too old. Might has well make Cerny number 1.

I think one of the lessons from this season was that too much changes in personnel all at once can be a detriment. I think we have the nucleus of a good team and if we strengthen up the spine we will be off to a good start. Maybe Ben Foster or Allan McGregor in goal, Samba in centre of defence and a really strong marshaling midfielder to direct traffic. With our current squad I hope the following al stay: Onuoha, Ferdinand, Young, Taiwo, Traore, Buzsaky, Mackie, Cisse, Diakite, Zamora, Hill, Derry. I am not sure about Faurlin and Taarabt in a Hughes line up as they give the ball away too easily. Campbell, SWP, Helguson might make up the squad numbers and I expect Barton to go along with Bothroyd and Smith. So room for new additions to build on the existing core for continuity. Hoping that Troare gets more playing time as we haven't seen all he has to offer.

Taarabt is going to lose the ball more than an average midfielder because he has an ability to take defenders on. As for Faurlin, he is one of the most accurate passers of the the ball in the premiership if you look at statistics even with a lack of options available for him.

Agree with Andrew re Faurlin , was in the stats as the most passes and accurate in the League up till Feb and he wasn't even playing ,would have finish winner of that stat without question. Tarbs will of course give the ball away more that's his role, run with the ball and take some pressure off defence and midfield. Your right about not making too many changes though Vancouver , just a few in the right places don't want to over do the personnel now!

Henrique is playing for Granada in the Spanish League now. He is there on a loan deal until 2013 but they have the option of buying for 6m euros at anytime. Hasnt played a lot for them and hasnt scored. Too much baggage and too many issues for one so young. We are best off without him!

Friedel is better than Gomez? Yeah miles better, that's why Gomes never starts for Spurs.

Duo tracking Robinson QPR & West Ham eye Rovers raid By Pete O'Rourke Paul Robinson: Attracting interest from West Ham & QPR Sky Sports understands Queens Park Rangers and West Ham are eyeing up moves for Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson. Robinson is expected to be one of several big names to leave Blackburn following their relegation from the Premier League. The 32-year-old was one of Rovers' shining lights last season despite their struggles at the wrong end of the table. West Ham are drawing up a shortlist of goalkeeping targets as doubts continue to surround the future of Rob Green with the England international out of contract this summer. Hammers boss Sam Allardyce will be keen to bring in an experienced custodian to fill the void if Green leaves and is a huge fan of Robinson, having worked with him during his time in charge of Blackburn. QPR boss Mark Hughes is also thought to be keen to bolster his goalkeeping options after seeing his side narrowly avoid relegation on the final day of the season and he is keeping tabs on Robinson's situation at Ewood Park. www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7770715/Duo-tracking-Robinson

Not sure on Robinson, he is a decent keeper but Blackburn did go down and conceded loads of goals this season. Would rather get Given who has about 3 or 4 years left in him then after that go for a younger keeper.

Well 10million is out of our budget but 5-7 might get them interested, just think he's at the age where he can go big places for the next few yrs .

Just thought of another young goalkeeper we could go for.
Sven Ulreich is a 23 year old keeper for Stuttgart, very highly rated in the Bundesliga but has recently signed a contract extension so he would probably cost quite a bit.
