What a wasted talent South Wales Evening THERE are no easy games at this stage of the campaign — as Afan Lido found out at Latham Park against relegation favourites Newtown. The Robins are fighting for their lives and with eight matches to play they find themselves five points adrift of safety, although this result halted a five-match losing sequence. Lido were looking for three points but finished with one, much to the frustration of manager Andy Dyer. "I'm frustrated because we missed some gilt-edged chances after Newtown gave us some problems in the first period," Dyer said. "The boys responded to a quiet chat at half-time and we romped it second half and should have scored more. Leon Jeanne could have had a hat-trick."But a point on the road is not to be sniffed at, although with Airbus losing at Carmarthen we missed an opportunity. "As it is we reduced the deficit from three points to two so that's a positive we have to take from game to game. "Four points from successive away matches at Port Talbot and Newtown is a good return and we need to keep churning out the results." The visitors fell behind in the 39th minute with a goal from Callum Wright. With the clock ticking down, it took a delightful goal from Jeanne in the 70th minute to draw the scores level.
The former QPR striker bent a beauty over the wall to gain his side a point in their pursuit of a play-off place. www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Lido-frustrated-strugglers/story-15280593-detail/story.html
