Always scared of long contracts if we're still on the precipice of going down, but glad we're building for the future. Hope he does a job for us, but i'd say it all points to him performing. Got a lot of talent that's been held back on the bench, he must be chomping at the bit.

Excellent signing. Like Taiwo his career has stalled and needs to get it back on track. I like Hill and Gabbidon but Taiwo and Onuoha are a massive step up in quality. Both have age on their side and both could still improve!
No idea whether we will sign anyone else but I’m sure if we had the defence we’ve got today against the likes of Swansea, Norwich and Sunderland recently we definitely would have got more than a single point from those three games.

Agree with you Harlow, I'd be surprised if we continue to pursue Samba, although I'd be flippant to say we dont need him. A quality midfield player and proven striker are our priorities before tuesday deadline. Breathing a little less heavy now. An exciting few months in store for all of us.
With respect to Hall, Connolly and Gabbidon I would venture that Anton Ferdinands game will improve when paired with a more sure footed, consistent partner in the centre of defence?

Superb signing, worth every penny and will become a favourite very quickly. Only two problems...... 1) He will make Ferdinand look VERY ordinary. 2) He is a better right back than Luke Young as well.

If he does play with Luke, my issue is that both like to get forward.
One is going to have to stay back more often, and my guess is that will be Nedum.

Worth remembering that Nedum and Anton played many games together at Sunderland last season so should know how each other plays.
