My first post so hope it goes well ,and that it make sense. When i left Scotland for London i was to young to understand about football . But when i was able to walk , and started to play football i was more of a fan of certain players , than of teams .Players like Peter Osgood, Alan Hudson, Charlie Cooke, Charlie George, Malcolm McDonald, Steve Highway. Frank Worthington , great players in my opinon. My Dad was a cop in London and he took me to a few Chelsea games ,dont know why as he did not support them . My mates Dad was a massive Brentford fan , and he used to take me and my mate to the friday night games .Then my Dad took me to see QPR , and it all became clear to me . Then in late primary school my best mate was a QPR fan as well , so when we went to High school we started to go to every home game . As we lived in Ealing , it was only a 205 bus ride ( back then it was a 205) along the Uxbridge Road . Or of we had money , a tube ride .

Seems like a reasonable place to drop my first post, bit of a cool story bro moment, but oh well.
Friend of mine recently moved back to Kitchener. he spent some time in England and is a big Tottenham fan. upon returning home he asked if I was still following premier league and I said no. The two of us chose to start following League 2 at my request as a bit of a joke, but we ended up getting really into it. Before I knew it I was watching and following football again for the first time in years.
I decided to pick a premier side, and chose to go with a promoted club. When I heard Pete Doherty was a huge QPR fan it sealed the deal.
So I'm realtively new to this club, but I'm super excited. Followed the last month of this season and fell in love.

You realize of course that you're now stuck with QPR for life

My Dad was (and is) a mad Fulham fan and he took me to Fulham v The Other Lot in about 1980? Sat next to Dennis Waterman, it was all pretty swish...didn't feel quite right though.
My Grandad then invited me to a game in the 82/83 season. Sat in the upper Loft (have ever since). QPR v Cardiff, 2.0, Stainrod, Plastic, El Tel, it all just fits doesn't it. My Nan used to pack us sweets, which we were only allowed to eat if Rangers scored. I've continued the tradition with my children.
Would I have ended up QPR had we not gone on the FA cup run? Who knows, but, I remember from that run, Grandad losing his glasses celebrating when Allen scored at Highbury against Albion and bursting into tears when Hoddle scored in extra time (I still maintain the ref Clive Thomas body checked Waddock, who'd had the mercurial Glenda in his pocket all game). Then...Stainrod...Bobby Hazell and Fenwick!!!!!! 1.1!!!!!
How was I to know that this would be the highlight nearly 30 years later...
I've now got twin boys, one QPR...one Fulham (with his Grandad!).
Not very good at this posting thing, but, a great board and great to see so many great Rs memories.

Originally started playing and following football in 1978 as a twelve year old. Started following Liverpool and QPR but dropped the red lot because they weren't entertaining or successful enough! Just loved the name and the hoops but then found that we could play a bit as well! Forget Man U, the Arse, Chelsea, or Spurs I live for the day when the Rs actually win something again. Jeepers what a party that will be (we may even get a parade)!!! I know, I know we won the Championship but.....

I lived in London at a very early age, and QPR is the closest team to where I lived.

I know the thread has dried up, but I really want to share. Lived in Wembley all my life but ended up supporting United, but when my cousin started bringing me to Loftus Road from I was like 12. Was trying to pick between the pair for a couple of years (R's not an easy choice with United being United and the R's being as poor as they were lol) but ended up a Superhoop! Been in X Block as often as I could ever since!

First visited Loftus Road with my brother as a 5 year old in 1963, think it was a reserve game. We sat in the old Ellerslie Road wooden stand. Been hooked ever since. Being born and brought up in Paddington there was ever only one club to follow. I do truly love my club, and it is ours (meaning the supporters) and not those two bankers currently running it. Don't ever think any different.
Now live in Sussex, proud and happy to say that my wife (also from Paddington) and two Sussex born children are all Hoops as well.
Onwards and upwards for the coming season, even if we do get relegated, because a take over will happen eventually. All we then have to do is get promoted again.
But it will always be MY club. (and yours as well of course as fellow Hoops)

I started getting interested in football when i was 9 yr old in 1975 and a mate of mine said during that summer that a professional team was coming to play our local team in a friendly.
That was ashford town and the visitors were QPR on the way we were walking and were 3 miles from the ground when a coach stopped and said they were lost and said they were looking for essella park which at the time was our local teams ground.
we said we are going there to watch football and they said hop in you show us the way and be our guests for the day.
i couldnt believe it we got in for free spent time with what turned out to be runners up next season the only guy i remember not being present was stan bowles unfortunately but all the rest were there as i remember.
parkes , cunningham , givens , busby , webb , pritchett , abbott , leach , shanks , francis , gillard , masson , beck . mclintock , hollins , rogers , thomas and clement.
That was a day i will never forget, they made us laugh and was very, very nice people gave us lots of autographs a couple of shirts and 2 balls we were the envy of our street for a long time after that.
That is when i started supporting us and will forever do so.

It was 1972 and there was I, aged 7, sat watching the cup final with an Arsenal shirt on. When Leeds won, I was gutted and dad, being Shepherds Bush born and a died in the wool Rs fan, took advantage of my emotional low and promised me riches and success beyond my wildest dreams if I would but accompany him to Loftus Road the following season. I'm still waiting!

Dad was a QPR fan, bought me up as a QPR fan, brother started supporting Liverpool, then Barcelona... now arsenal.. i never cared too much for football until 3 seasons ago when i got my first season ticket since then QPR has been numero 1.
Born and raised in Brighton, they've always been my second team as there my locals but don't get the same buzz when they win as when QPR do, QPR through and through! You r's!!

Dad was a chelski fan and he tried to take me there, we went to one game '72 I was 4 and the place was such a dump, supporters were animals, piss ran down from the toilets after that he didn't want to take me back & my Mum wouldn't let him. A friend of his suggested taking me to QPR & I've had season tickets ever since-I suppose at least I kinda had a choice my little bro didn't he's been going to Loftus Rd since he was 6months old.
If I didn't support QPR I don't think I'd be a passionate supporter of anyone else but have always liked Man City, the first game I went to was Arsenal v Man City & growing up Dennis Tueart, Asa Hartford were players I admired and the overhead goal in the '76 FA Cup Final-well been trying to do that ever since

i saw us get stuffed 3-0 by Villa as a kid in a league cup semifinal at Highbury, and have been hooked ever since! Still remember seeing Francis charge down the flank in the second half while i was in the old North Bank.
It's handy because i got used to seeing us get beat from an early age!
PS - I was at that Wealdstone game too, and i always remember how some of the wealdstone fans keep singing and waving a flag at the back of the School End terrace even though they were 4-0 down.
