Not a bad record then. Only place he really failed was Man City but that was made a lot harder by the money coming in.

Guardian/Jamie Jackson - June 2, 2011
Mark Hughes resigns as Fulham manager
• Hughes denies receiving approach from any other club • Departure increases speculation on Aston Villa vacancyMark Hughes has resigned as the Fulham manager and, despite the Welshman claiming he had received no approach from any other club, speculation will now heighten that he will replace Gérard Houllier as Aston Villa manager. Hughes said: "I would like to take this opportunity to clarify that neither myself nor my representative have approached or have been approached by another club. This decision to leave Fulham has not been influenced by any outside party. "I would like to thank the chairman, directors, players and fans of Fulham football club for their support over the last 12 months and wish them every success for the future. I have especially enjoyed an excellent relationship with the chairman and chief executive [and] I believe my management team and I have done a good job and the club has a strong foundation from which they can go forward. "I hope the supporters and all those connected to the club will understand that as a young, ambitious manager I wish to move on to further my experiences. "I sincerely wish Fulham a successful campaign in the Europa League next season and for their continued progress on and off the field." Hughes had been in charge one year and was able to walk away due to a break clause in his two-season contract. Fulham said in a statement: "Fulham Football Club can confirm that Mark Hughes has provided notice, under the terms of his contract, to leave the club at the end of June. After discussions with Mark the club has agreed to accept this notice." Hughes, who has also managed Wales, Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City, took over from Roy Hodgson at Fulham. He led the club to eighth place in the Premier League and secured a berth in Europe via the Fair Play League. www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jun/02/mark-hughes-resigns-fulham

See he was linked to Blackburn return a few weeks ago...and also to Sunderland after Bruce was axed.
I guess would be interesting to know what Blackburn and Fulham fans think of him (beyond bitterness maybe about him leaving). Man City less so, because he wasn't given much of a chance...And their aspirations are obviously a lot higher/high profile, etc

Mark Bowen - does that sound right? Thank you ... Do you think he would still be someone that Mark would bring in ? Again according to wiki: Mark Bowen: Since retiring in 1999, he has worked as assistant to former international team-mate Mark Hughes with Wales, Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City before following Hughes to Fulham as assistant manager.

Mark Bowen is a great Coach , he played alongside Culverhouse at Norwich , Lamberts No 2. Bowen and Culverhouse both started at Spurs before playing 300+ games for Norwich he was a left back so would get our defence into shape for sure , Hughes /Bowen would be a fantastic pairing !

Some of those candidates terrify me.
Just how knowledgeable about football is TF and AB? If they know their stuff they'll know that the vast majority of those listed or those without jobs aren't right for QPR.

how ironic harlow! anyhow hughes for me but sven would be a good little outside bet. Whats Ironic? Mark Hughes: Early favourite to succeed Neil Warnock but QPR are staying quiet on those in the frame . Queens Park Rangers have confirmed they want to get a new manager in place as soon as possible after parting company with Neil Warnock on Sunday. Warnock was relieved of his duties after a poor run of results in the first half of the season left QPR hovering precariously close to the relegation zone. It was also announced that assistant boss Mick Jones and first team coach Keith Curle had left Loftus Road, leaving club bosses in urgent need of a new management team. Mark Hughes has emerged as the early favourite to take the role but chief executive Philip Beard has refused to give any indication about who might be in the running. Beard has, however, admitted that QPR are under pressure to make an appointment quickly to enable them to reinforce their squad this month. Tricky month QPR expect quick appointment ."We're going to be criticised whatever we do, like everybody else in football," he said on Sky Sports News. "We just believe this is the right decision at this time. "I'm not going to comment (on candidates) tonight but what I will say is that we're going to move as quickly as we can and we hope to make an appointment very soon. "We've got some people at the club that can help us in the very, very, very short term but we plan to move very quickly and get things sorted. "Time is against everybody and we're already into the second week of January. I think the reality is there are some funds there but we've got to make the right purchases. "It is a tricky month to try and make things happen but our appetite is to bring one or two players in if we can to strengthen the squad and the new manager will be part of that as soon as we can identify him and spend time looking at some of our targets." Two other names that show up on other lists are Hoddle 40-1 and Ranieri 25-1

Getting seriously worried now that Zola will take charge. His odds have shortened dramatically since NW was sacked. From 10/1 to 7/4

That doesn't suggest that anyone has been lined up. We've also gone from NW saying 4 or 5 players needed to Beard saying that the club are looking to bring in one or two.

One or Two worries me Sirpie , we do need 3-4 with Tarbs and Traore away. Maybe even more if Faurlin is out for too long. We could against Newcastle without Barton, Faurlin, Taraabt, Traore and a manager.

Many clued up football people regard Hughes coaches / assistants as the best in the business.

A handful of those are acceptable...Can always argue pros and cons. But I think we'd all acknowledge Hughes would be a reasonable appointment (even if not our preferred). Some names are just a joke: Souness, Wilkins. Erickson. Ferdinand...And I'm sure Fernandes would not go that way.

Hughes is a cheat. Not welcome by me.
Alan McDonald is a QPR legend and it is a disgrace that a West Ham supporting chairman is considering hiring this Chelsea/manutd cheat for our club.
Some of us have long memories.

There aren't many in football who havent cheated and wouldn't not cheat given the opportunity.
What our captain did for Newcastle against Arsenal was cheating.

if we were better placed/safer and somehow Warnock was gone, might have gone for the Briatore-favourite, Lippi. But I think we need someone who knows Premiership and get us going.
Looking at the list of names (and there may be some not listed) There are a lot of worse options than Hughes
