www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~1622139,00.html Queens Park Rangers Football Club has today (Thursday) had to terminate Paulo De Sousa's employment with the Club with immediate effect. It came to the Club's attention that Mr De Sousa had, without authority, divulged highly confidential and sensitive information. The Club, with legal advice, responded in this way to protect its position. Player / Coach Gareth Ainsworth will take Caretaker charge on a temporary basis, from now until the end of the season.

I live in Ealing Scott, I'll get the round in if you can explain this to me. I take it the board weren't happy with the Cook and Helguson info. that Sousa spilled?

The football club I love has become a joke.
I am not usually one for making hysterical statements, but I certainly won't be renewing my season ticket next season and apart from local away games (Boro and Newcastle if they go down) I doubt I will go to any games unless Briatore and Paladini leave our club.

Hi SPC, hope you are well. A piece of classless, gutless nonsense to avoid a pay out....The club I love is being run by gauche egoists surrounded by sycophants

for revealing their shameful gross mismanaged business practices. Youd think theyd want to keep it out of the courts. Poor Sousa, I hope he has good lawyers and getsem good.

There have been numerous stories in the media about Sousa out....and THEN after Sousa' comments ....The club seizes it....From the club rushed to put Holloway on Gardening Leave.
This is such a bs effort as noted to avoid payments....And if I was another manager thinking about QPR currently in a good job, you'd have to be crazy to come.
This is the equivalent of someone sending personal email at work. Or surfing the web. May be a violation of some regulation.
So what pisses the club off? What did Sousa "reveal?" That he didn't know about Blackstock? Some other statement he made on Saturday? This sounds like such a legal case to come.
ANd worse than if they had just axed him for being a bad manager

And the possible replacements just make a shiver run down my spine:
Paul Ince or Dennis Wise. Both firmly entrenched in my top 5 most hated footballers of all time.

And now watch those wanted Sousa gone rush to push "Back the club" blah, blah, blah, blah , A big contratulations to Pete that the man you wanted out is now out. As you rush to backstrack your month long campaign against the man.
If people are going to be axed by QPR for revealing confidential information. Well let the club take that to its logical conclusion: Let them who have leaked be gone.

Well now you know it isn't only the fans who are treated with total contempt - it's everybody, even someone with the stature of Paulo Sousa in the game. Not given the slightest chance - rather like the young pro's at the club, and plenty of interference.
What an ego, what conceit, what incompetence - an object lesson in how to destroy a once great and proud club.
And the caretaker manager, he rides safely through the hurricane, simply because he knows how to say "yes Mr. Briatore ", certainly not on his coaching skills.
Who is next for the managers office with the revolving doors ?

That saved me the cost of a round then. Your non-denial speaks volumes! The information Sousa purportedly gave out re. Helguson and Cook is what is most possibly damaging to the board. The Dexter issue is a simple he said, they said issue, which although does undermine the boards position, the issue of signing players who they know are injured is more serious as it also raises issues of incompetence, lying to fans and devalues two club assets and as such are more likely to impact on the financial line of the club in a negative way, rather than the Blackstock issue. The club are very protective over injuries to players information going public as well (and have been for a while), but to say that Cook will never be the player that he was, was quite an incredible thing for a manager to say, regardless of the situation surrounding him. Try selling Cook now and see how much you can recoup on what you just paid after that information was made public. If Sousa did say that then he does not have a leg to stand on legally. That is confidential company information. The Dexter issue was in the public domain. However this whole episode stinks to high heaven. How many times does a rumour on a messageboard come with photographic evidence? Bit too convenient for me. Anyone else smell a setup?

That's the point. This axing came after a month of leaks that the club was going to axe him. I'm assuming not a set up. But the grasping at something to save money. Maybe Nico will defend Sousa? That would be an interesting switch

What kind of manager will take the QPR job? Someone for whom the money is so attractive, and/or who doesn't have anything to lose.

Smithers would never leave Mr. Burns, though he would be perfect for them!
It depends how the job is sold I guess. Sousa would be shown to be a liar to any prospective manager so if they can spin a decent manager then good luck to them. Out of all the unemployed mangers out there, Ericksson would be perfect for the board, though I doubt he would come to the championship and he would be my preferred choice. Curbishley my next choice, he knows how to operate to a strict budget and is a decent man, but to be honest I haven't put much thought into the future as the present has been more engrossing than any soap opera (but not as good as The Wire!).

OhI smelled setup yesterday which I reported. But dont you think souze wanted out too, They both got what they wanted, But we will never know the real reason they wanted Souze out, as I still dont know the real reasons Flav bought QPR. It doesnt seem to me about football. I doubt if there will be any legal action, most likeley will be dropped. But at least he wasnt crucified on Good Froday.

Safe London,
I'm sure Sousa is not that gutted tonight. Probably thinking best out of it. More twists and turns down HQ than Routledge chasing Taarabt through a maze at the moment.
Have you seen CPR lately? I miss his straight forward nihilism. Now that he got his avatar he's gone. I feel so dirty and used............!

Paulo was always good with crosses anyway. I don't believe a football man of his status would come without the intention of seeing the job through. He probably came to the conclussion that he needed a little more authority and that is completely taboo at QPR.
It must be a terrible place to work for anyone except the chairman !!!

That a message on a blogsite could have any legal significance is preposterous. At least this one. There is no evidnce no witness just cyber gab. If it had been souze on company website or his e mail maybe. Anyway all they have is increased malevolence against them. Megalos thrive on that to, gives them more enemies and calls to battle.
Yes I miss CPR also. He may be ill, hope not. I would feel that he was hurt by series of e mails about 10 days ago. I think Zed knows him. But Im sure he cherishes your Avatar and will return when he is ready.

Two words: Paladini out.
I truly despair at the state of QPR. It will be a miracle if we make the playoffs next year.

Come, come. It's all part of the strategy.
But not the one set out in Len Shackleton's account of what it takes to be a director of a football club, I trust.
See Shackleton, Len - Autobiography, Chapter 9 - "The Average Director's knowledge of Football".
