Burnley's Ex-Manager, Jimmy Adamson, turns 80! (For some reason I thought he was dead. Sorry !) The man who beat Gordon Jago to the Division II Championship...and sold us Dave Thomas
And when we were both promoted, the following season: QPR and Burnley - along with Leicester and a couple of others were the Division One Teams "punching above their weight," playing neat, attractive football..
And nice of Burnely to rememember....

Jimmy Adamson, one of Burnley Football Club's greatest ever sons, celebrates his 80th birthday on Saturday, April 4.
Adamson, whose overall Turf Moor career spanned four decades, served the Clarets as player, chief coach and manager.
And the legendary half back, widely regarded as the best uncapped player in English football during the post-war period, enjoyed his finest hour as captain of the Burnley side that lifted the First Division championship title in May 1960 - an achievement that the club will honour 50 years on in the 2009/10 campaign.
Two years later, in 1962, Adamson was the backbone of the team that finished runners-up to Ipswich Town in the league and Spurs in the FA Cup.
And in recognition of the club's achievements, he was honoured to be named Footballer of the Year - the only time in history a Burnley player has landed the award.
Aged 33, Adamson was included in the England squad for the 1962 World Cup in Chile and was also appointed assistant manager to Walter Winterbottom.
He was later offered the top England job, but refused it due to a lack of managerial experience.
However, Adamson did later join the Turf Moor coaching staff and took charge of the Clarets in 1970 as the natural successor to the late, great Harry Potts.
Jimmy's last game as Burnley manager came in January 1976 and after spells in charge of Sunderland and Leeds United, he ended his association with the game and now lives a quiet life in Burnley.
Happy birthday Jimmy, from everyone connected with Burnley Football Club.
There will be a special four-page feature on Jimmy Adamson and his huge contribution to the Clarets' cause in the award-winning matchday programme Claret and You, for the upcoming Championship game with QPR.
