Aggy
Positive thing about him - his workrate, never gives up and was always chasing the ball so in that respect he was more than useful
Negative - he is not a goalscorer, I think he had 3 decent chances and he botched all of them. A striker of some note would have converted one of them. He is certainly slow to react.
I was surprised Buzz went off for Jay instead of Dave.
Perone (he sounds like an Italian Beer that we get down here)
He certainly didn't have agreat 1st half but he did get better the longer the game went on - was unlucky not to score.
I felt Adel was our best player by far, Derry was solid as usual and Paddy at the back produced some decent saves - and you couldn't fault him for either goal. Faurlien & Buzz have both had much games than what I saw yesterday.
Going to the topic, I think Barton probably got a lot more positive than negative thoughts from our performance. We weren't outclassed and, as I mentioned in the match thread, the difference between the 2 teams was one side hitting the woodwork 3 x while the other had 2 x sublime (albeit deflected)moments from a player having a purple spell. On any other day we probbaly woudl have won - or at the very least drawn the game.
And that's it - if Wigan were all over us then I would have been worried but we weren't. We lost for sure, and it may prove crucial come May, but at least one of the candidates for the drop didn't destroy us.
One thing that I had to laugh about was the mass exodus of Wigan fans with 5 or so mins to go to so that they could watch the Challenge Cup. They may have been at the game but there is no doubt that is still at heart a Rugby League town.
