He was just interviewed at Wembley Arena after watching the Badminton finals.
He says there will be an announcement in the next 3-2 days either way. He seems like a proper good bloke. He says that what the manager needs he should get and the club needs stability, and fully backs Neil. Also says he lived on Uxbridge once and felt really at home at Loftus Road on Saturday.
I really hope this comes off now, he seems to be a top bloke.

I saw that and was very impressed. Obviously he had to keep stressing "if there is a deal" or words to that effect because it could jeopardise everything if he said otherwise. I agree with you Rory - top bloke and very upbeat. Restores one's faith in human nature. If we see the back of the other lot then that will be even better still. How different would things now be if this had taken place on 14th June instead of 14th August?

If Tony can provide £10m for Neil I think we stand a chance to stay up.

ok thanks anyway.
Well just hope its true and fernandes buys out the clowns' shares FULLY. I am so sick of the drama that goes on at our club, its like an unhappy marriage. All I want is our club to be run by competant people who know what they are doing, want to invest, do not shaft and care about fans. I am not asking too much

Skysports Fernandes vows to back Warnock Entrepreneur on brink of acquiring majority stake in QPR . Sky Sports News sources understand Fernandes, the owner of Formula One team Lotus Racing, is on the verge of acquiring a majority stake in QPR, with the deal believed to be worth around £80million. He is in discussions with majority shareholder Bernie Ecclestone and his business partner Flavio Briatore over buying out the F1 supremo to take control of the London-based club. Fernandes, who watched as QPR's Premier League campaign get off to a torrid start with a 4-0 defeat at home to Bolton on Saturday, expects the takeover situation to be resolved in the coming days. Discussions "I am in discussions," he told Sky Sports News. "I think over the next two to three days, one way or another, they'll be some sort of announcement. That's for sure." The Malaysian added that manager Warnock would have the full support of the board should he complete the proposed takeover, including the provision of transfer funds where needed. "I think the manager should get what the manager wants," he added. "I think Neil is a super guy and he's done extremely well to have got QPR to where they are. "If I were to get involved, he'd have my full support. But let's see if I do get involved." www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11711_7101613,00.html

Would be fascinating to compare difference between pre-takeover of club promises and how QPR owners have actually operated.

Would also be fascinating (I know cos I did briefly ) to look back at how people has swung between praising/defending Briatore-Ecclestone and then switched to praising Mittal/Bhatia and then back to praising/defending Briatore-Ecclestone. Opps and then moving back to hoping for Mittal et al... I guess that's another form of Dowies' "Bouncibiliy?"

If Bhatia is holding 45% it'll his father-in-laws money but thats ok. Mittal still has the only serious money of those involved except Bernie. I'm optimistic as much because I think/hope they'll not piss Warnock about or fire him after 3 losses. Its not the end of the world if we go down but staying up with Messrs Tango & Cash could still be fatal to the soul of this club

Thanks...
Seeing will be believing. Hopefully he has more character than that other guy who one minute was saying he LOVED Holloway. And the next minute...."What's that sharp thing sticking from out of your back, Ian?"

I start to get nervous when I hear sstuff like that. If we look at what has happened so far. He tried to buy into West ham but it didn't go through with rumours that he was all talk and didn't have the money. Now he's looking at buying QPR who he has a soft spot for and used to come to watch us. Replace West Ham with Port Vale and it's the Paladini nightmare. Not saying it will turn out that way but the similarity is worrying.

Not that we can do too much - the days of Possible owners having to be vetted by QPR1st are seemingly long gone. But agree should be cautious.
And there is such a thing as an owner too eager to please the "Fan Fad" of the moment. Some have argued - I think Dave McIntyre being one - that Paladini actually made some of his signings because he wanted to please the fans.
And maybe Chris Wright (in his early days) was too eager to please.
We want someone who cares about the club, but thinks again, thinks long term best interest for club, etc, etc. Not be caught up in the fan mood of the day
Yes, it's a hard thing to balance

Right now I'm wracking my brains to think which signings those were. It's a lot easier to think of his signings that have p*ssed of fans.

he is not the man to do this,
he is a stooge,
he is a west ham fan
he will not buy a majority share
he will be appointed frontman for bernie
he will welcome bhatia back on the board
warnocks targets will not change, its the budget he has got, but fernandes will hype it as his involvement.
fans will be appeased with his 'one of the lads' attitude
if we survive in the prem briatore will come back.
sorry, just my very cautious and cynical opinion brought on by 10 years of bullshit.

Rightly so we will be wary that it is the right deal. I'm not convinced Briatore will be going totally or Paladini. See it more that Ecclestone has had enough. It could go many ways , it could be the best thing to happen for us for several years. Could stay pretty much the same as now , with small amount of investment. Or it could go even more horribly wrong , but we must at this stage accept it for whats it worth and see what develops. I'm keeping optimistic that something will happen this week , it needs to happen if we are to stay in this Division i feel. Cant see Tango and Cash giving Neil any more funds until January and by then probably to little to late. Then we have Tango and Cash in the Championship again possibly , will they get bored then ! £5-6 million to get two decent defenders in could put us back in the mix with the Swansea's , Norwich's ,Blackburn's and Wigan's of the Division.
Lets give the guy a chance , we will soon see what way it will go after after a few months , less face it we cant do anything at all to stop it anyway so let it take its course.

I think it might interesting if any of you wanted to try and get in touch with some West Ham Fans, if there's a West Ham Fan trust, or something. See if they have any views about - had any dealings with Fernandes

what i hate is people saying they follow the club and they don't when i once spoke to Ian Taylor on the phone i asked him if he was a QPR fan and he yes i knew before hand he was spurs and things like that hack me. You do not need to be a fan you just need to be honest and care for the fans and the club it is as simple as that. He was also in the frame it seems to buy Norwich and then went wrong as well. If he does take over and he keeps Paladini then i will be amazed . Good luck to the fella if he is a football fan and wants to take the club forward and will say now that he willl meet the fans then that is good enough for me. Lets face it you would have to go some to be worse than them three we have now.

I think if he does take over it will be a lot better than Flabbio and Bernie running the place, even if he is trying get more money from QPR, and even if he does turn out to be like F and B then we will give him the exact same treatment as they got, but i think that everyone should give the man a chance for now because not everyone is out to screw us over.
