It's interesting it is his wages he is worrying about but not the £6m price tag.

Warnock doubts Crouch deal England ace would need to take pay cut to join Warnock doubts whether QPR would be able to agree terms with striker ....QPR boss Neil Warnock would love to have striker Peter Crouch among his ranks, but does not believe a deal is likely to happen. The Tottenham striker began his career at White Hart Lane before moving to The Rs for just £60,000 in the summer of 2000. He spent one season at Loftus Road, but relegation and a poor financial state at the club meant he was sold to Portsmouth. Crouch is now back at Tottenham and Warnock knows the 30-year-old would have to accept reduced terms before a QPR return could transpire. "If Crouchy wants to fit into the QPR wage structure, I'd welcome with open arms," he told the Fulham Chronicle. "But something tells me that isn't going to happen." Soft spot Crouch admits he has a soft spot for the newly-promoted side and the England international is not precluding the possibility of being a Hoop once again. However, he admits Warnock has his work firmly cut out as the ex-Sheffield United boss looks to keep the Londoners in England's top-flight on a limited budget. "I've got a lot of affection for the club, and loved playing down there when I was young," said the Spurs striker. "I certainly wouldn't rule out ever playing for QPR again. "They deserved to win the Championship but with the level in the Premier League they will have to buy a few players and hope some of those players who got them up adapt quickly. "It's so difficult because every year the teams who come up are expected to go down. Hopefully they do it. They've got good resources and can hopefully add to the squad they've got." www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_7055305,00.html

Peter Crouch must take a 50% wage cut to join QPR NEIL WARNOCK wants to offer Peter Crouch a dream return to QPR. But a £6million deal for Tottenham's beanpole striker has a chance only if the player is willing to HALVE his wages. Boyhood Hoops fan Crouch, who cut his first-team teeth at Loftus Road a decade ago, is now on Spurs' surplus list. He is currently trousering £80,000 a week, while QPR chief Warnock pays his players around 50 per cent of that. Warnock said: "If Crouchy wants to fit into the QPR wage structure, I'd welcome him with open arms." Crouch, 30, has said in the past: "I wouldn't rule out playing for QPR again." Now that would work a little better, hopefully at the end of the loan we can keep him.

But why would Spurs Loan him rather than sell him to someone? He's not a youngster they're trying to develop; and he's not someone that other clubs are not trying to buy.
