To be serious, if we get Campbell and Bothroyd that will be a great first step....
Now obviously the downers I don't need to go into. We all know them.
But this is good - That they're not ITalian has beens or never weres is a plus

IF he's fit! Let's not repeat our error with Sturridge... Or our error with Ord Don't quite see how you can describe Ord as an error when it pure bad luck his career was destroyed minutes in to his QPR debut after we paid what was then a massive fee for him Unfortunate yes extremely unlucky yes but certainly not an error by QPR

Maybe. But as I recall he had injury questions before we signed him. But maybe you're right.
But certainly I'm sure you agree that signing an injury-prone Dean Sturridge without giving him a medical because Wolves said wasn't necessary - was an incredible act of idiocy on the part of Gianni Paladini...

That is quite a tenuous link to go from Bothroyd's medical to digging out Palidini over Sturridge. Especially since you forgot to mention Helguson's medical and Tchakounte as well. Imagine tounge sticky out smilie, please. (iPhone don't do smilies)

Not just Paladini but everyone at QPR involved with wanting the player so much and I bet Wolves are still laughing to this day about it The really sad part about the whole sorry episode is that Sturridge was never all that in the first place

Well I am still to be convimced about Campbell but if he is good enough for Warnock yjen thats good enough for me but Bothroyd will really make the grade I reckon and hopefully once one signs then a few more will follow

Ah Helguson! Well I didn't raise it, now. BUt of course one of Pete's repeated claims was that Helguson NEVER failed a QPR medical. And that may not have been exactly the case.
As for Paladini's "Cameroon International" Signing - Well YOU raised him on this thread: I don't think the critique of the signing was that he failed or passed. It was his quality. And of course the fact that he seems not to have been a Cameroon International. I guess that was "Puff" from Chairman Gianni.
As for Sturridge: The buck has to stop at the top. Especially for such a hands on CHairman who was deeply involved in signings
But as I recall, post the Faurlin/FA Fine, you're on the record as also wanting Paladini out.

If I'm wrong about Ord, apologies. "... To be honest, it was a miracle I passed the medical with QPR because my back wasn't good; I had a prolapsed disc," From QPR Report Blog - November 5, 2007 Richard Ord Recalls Joining QPR and His Career-Ending Injury- Profiled in the Sunderland Echo, one-time QPR signing Richard Ord, who got injured on his debut after his million pound signing by Ray Harford, almost a decade ago, and never played again... ".... Seeing that Ord had been left out of the play-off final, QPR manager Ray Harford asked about the defender's availability. "Ray had been my England Under-21 coach and was a fantastic bloke and great coach," said Ord. "He got in touch and asked about me. I don't think Reidy wanted me to leave and I know that Bobby Saxton didn't, but they were fair and said it was up to me. "I went to see Ray and he wanted me in his side and was going to make me captain, so I made the decision to go. I still had four years on my deal at Sunderland and time to turn things round, which I think I could, but I was upset about not being involved in the side and I made the hardest decision of my life, to go." There should have been plenty for Ord still to achieve, but that play-off semi against the Blades became the last game of his pro career. "To be honest, it was a miracle I passed the medical with QPR because my back wasn't good; I had a prolapsed disc," he recalled."But I went down to QPR really fired up for something new, and it was all finished before I'd played a game for them. "In my first training session, I went to block the ball and my knee went. I did everything – cruciate, nerves, the lot. "I gave it two years down there and had six operations, but it was never going to be right and I was finished."... Talking of crocs, I remember the first time Rob Steiner ran onto the pitch, I thought he had 2 wooden legs. God knows how he passed a medical.
Bothroyd would be a good signing. (fingers crossed)

Firstly how they bottled it V Liverpool and I wonder how the bookies did with that result, down 1 with 15 to go and then win 3-1. Then Sicknote Sturridge.

Sorry, where is this Bothroyd is a crock coming from?
I think he'll sign today. If we fail to convince him to join on a free we are seriously without a paddle entirely.

Rob Steiner, yeah, he had an unorthodox running style, barrel chested, like a nineteenth century runner in one of those old silent films or something.
But does anyone remember the way that Sammy Koejoe used to run ? now that was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen.

10 July: "A decision will be made this week ..!!" twitter.com/#!/jaybothroyd A decision... I wouldn't expect any official news on any club's website today. But he's tall enough to join Miami Heat.
