HULL CITY: Bullard QPR loan rests on wages Friday, July 08, 2011 www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/HULL-CITY-Bullard-QPR-loan-rests-wages/story-12908224-detail/story.htmlQPR have officially expressed an interest in taking Hull City's record £5m signing Jimmy Bullard on-loan for the season. But the deal for the £45,000-a-week midfielder is unlikely to go ahead at present as the Tigers do not want to pay a proportion of his wages. However, they have told the newly-promoted Premier League side that they will sanction the move if they agree to pay his annual salary in full. Bullard is believed to be keen on the move, which would let him play top-flight football again and be nearer to his family roots in the south. But having been willing to pay part of his wages whilst on-loan at Ipswich last season, City will not entertain the idea again this time around. Ipswich are also still interested in striking a deal, but financing any package will again be a sticking point. Talks are expected with QPR in a bid to find a suitable agreement for both clubs. Meanwhile, defender Liam Cooper has joined Huddersfield on a season-long loan. Midfielder Tom Cairney is believed to be a target for Doncaster in a similar deal.

If they are saying that we have to pay the full 45k then its probably best we look elsewhere. Not worth it.

If the are saying that we have to pay the full 45k then its probably best we look elsewhere. Not worth it. Agree, but how embarrassing is it that, Billy Big Balls, Champions and now Prem with all that lovely Sky money, QPR are asking Hull (God anyone but Hull) to do us a favour over a loan players wages..... God I hate to think what the Hull boards are like at the moment......

I disagree. Why should we pay all his wages, especially if it upsets the status quo with other players' own wages?
I can't see him being worth 45k a week to us so offer them £25k as a take it or leave it. Hull need to offload him and he has them over a barrel. stays put and earns 45k a week for a team that won't be challenging for promotion or Hull need to take a loss and loan him out at a lesser amount.

He isn't worth 45k and if he really wants to play PL footie, he should drop his salary. Nothing wrong with 25k p/w.

We're of course talking about a player that ITKs have long since said was already done deal. HULL Daily Mail
HULL CITY: Tigers give Bullard chance to shineSaturday, July 09, 2011 NIGEL Pearson is ready to hand Jimmy Bullard a clean slate and challenge the midfielder to win a place in his Hull City plans for the new season. Bullard was a surprise inclusion in the City squad as they departed for a six-day training camp in Slovenia this morning. The 32-year-old was expected to be overlooked as uncertainty continues to surround his future with the club, but Pearson has now invited the playmaker to prove his worth in pre-season. Despite continued links to Premier League newcomers QPR, Bullard is no nearer to securing a move away from the KC Stadium.
Contact has been made between the two clubs in the last week but unwilling to foot his £45,000-a-week wages, any interest from the Londoners is yet to be firmed up.That leaves all parties facing up to the reality that Bullard will stay put for the time being and Pearson appears willing to consider the star in his first-team plans. "The situation with Jimmy is that he's gone to Slovenia as part of the first-team squad and I genuinely can't see that changing," said City's head of football operations Adam Pearson. "We've had a bit of interest from QPR, as has been widely reported, but that hasn't come to anything." Jimmy is fit, he's come back in good shape and he's part of the first-team plans for sure. "He looks to have a smile on his face and let's hope he can play a part for us." Bullard's inclusion in today's travelling party represents a clear change in tack from City. The midfielder was left out of a training camp in Portugal last July and not considered for any pre-season fixtures as the club looked to manufacture a move following relegation from the Premier League. Bullard eventually won a place back in the City side last September but unable to convince Pearson of his worth, he was farmed on-loan to Ipswich in January. The £5m club-record signing reported back for pre-season training on Monday and has since underlined he would be "more than happy" to play for the Tigers this season. It remains to be seen if Bullard will see out the remaining two years of his deal but he will be considered for all pre-season friendlies, beginning with the trip to North Ferriby United in 10 days.... www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/HULL-CITY-Tigers-Bullard-chance-shine/story-12913635-detail/story.html
