Former Liverpool & England striker Robbie Fowler will arrive at Gigg Lane on Monday and will spend the week assisting Caretaker manager Richie Barker in the day to day coaching of the first team squad.
He will join Richie Barker in the dugout for Tuesday nights game with Burton Albion. At the moment, it is unclear if he will still be available to take up a similar role for the Barnet game on Saturday due to prior commitments.
During his week with the Shakers, all the clubs strikers will spend time with Robbie sharpening their shooting boots for the final six games.
The club are very grateful to Robbie for offering his help towards the club, and we hope that some of his talent rubs off on the players for the last month of the season.

The togetherness is unbelievable

"This is more of a work experience for me. Further down the line I want to get involved in coaching and management so the fact that I can come into Bury and do this is good for me and my career. It's a bit of both, I'm learning myself and hopefully I can pass something onto the players. I'm fairly new to the coaching side of things so I have a lot to learn. I've not had a bad career so if any of the lads can pick up a few pointers from me then its more than worth it.
The contact with Bury came through Ryan Lowe, I think Lowey knows everybody. I've known Ryan for a while now and he's been fantastic this year. We speak to each other now and then and once I found out that the manager had gone, then we sort of liaised with each other and the next thing you know I'm here helping Richie Barker with training and being involved with the set up for Tuesday night's game.

It's similar to what I was doing with MK Dons; I went down and helped to train the forwards. I know their manager Carl Robinson very well and he was good to me and allowed me to go and help. It's something I am grateful for and likewise I am grateful to Bury for allowing me to come in here.
I've been impressed with what I have seen. The results speak for themselves and if I can come in and add to them, though it will be difficult because of the good results. The players are good and you can see in the short space of time that I have been with them, the togetherness that they have is fantastic. It puts everybody in good stead and we have a few home games coming up. With the club in the promotion places now its just fingers crossed that it all continues.
The key word is togetherness, they are strong and it's unbelievable. Any manager or coach will tell you that if you can have that bunch of players together like this, they are fighting for each other, they want to do well for each other then its half the battle. Alan Knill deserves a lot of credit because the togetherness in this squad is there for all to see.
On Tuesday I will just be another pair of eyes for Richie Baker. He's come in and has done a great job in the games that he has been involved in so far. I'll be another pair of eyes for him and I will help him as much as I can, and likewise him with me. I'm starting off in this and Richie has done very well at this club and another pair of eyes will be good for him, we'll just bounce of each other.
I would like to stay here for a while and be involved for longer, buts it's all down to the wife at the moment. I'm still playing at the moment and have another year for Perth Glory in Australia. I've more or less verbally agreed a contract with them. What I am doing now is what I want to get into in the long run.
