Always interesting to follow what De Canio doing (Then I throw in a knowing ;D ) Goal.com A less-than-inspiring goalless draw against fellow strugglers Reggina could prove to be the final straw for the Lecce coach... Following their goalless draw against Reggina, the future of Lecce coach Mario Beretta hangs in the balance, according to Datasport. According to reports, Lecce president Giovanni Semeraro and his assistants will be meeting tonight to decide whether the former Siena manager will remain in the job. The Salentini’s supremo is quoted as saying, “This evening we will meet and decide what to do. “Obviously I am upset,” he continued, “But we have to do what we can to save ourselves, and stay in Serie A, because the team is good enough. “Unfortunately our latest performance has shown we aren’t playing well enough, or with the kind of determination that is necessary.” Lecce now lie second from bottom in Serie A with only 23 points. It is being suggested that ex-Queens Park Rangers, Siena and Genoa boss Luigi Di Canio, who has been seen in the southern city in the past few days, could be being lined up to succeed Beretta. What is the real unadulterated ,from the horses,' mouth why he left. Assuming other than the heavily circulated, homesickness, fathers death, being mugged, is not the whole story. The innuendoes appear with regularity.
