Millwall v QPR Mar 7 2011 By Jacob Murtagh - EAling Gazette KASPARS Gorkss and Matthew Connolly could be restored to the starting XI for tomorrow night's trip to the Den.The central defensive duo were dropped after the draw at Preston last month, with Danny Shittu and Fitz Hall filling the void for victories over Middlesbrough and Leicester City. But Hall (hamstring) is a major doubt to face Kenny Jackett's side, while boss Neil Warnock is concerned about Shittu's fitness, and may not be willing to gamble on the Nigerian ahead of Rangers' second game in four days. Tommy Smith is likely to see some game time after recovering from a hamstring problem, but Peter Ramage, Patrick Agyemang and Jamie Mackie are all still sidelined. Meanwhile, Millwall loanee Martin Rowlands is ineligible to face his parent club. www.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport/football-ealing/2011/03/07/millwall-v-qpr-64767-28293054/

Millwall Preview - Dave McIntyre/BBC Millwall v QPR TEAM NEWS Winger Andros Townsend goes straight into the Millwall squad after joining on loan from Tottenham. Martin Rowlands cannot play against QPR under the terms of his loan move from the Championship leaders. QPR are assessing injury-plagued defender Fitz Hall, who limped off during their win against Leicester. Tommy Smith is fit after a hamstring problem and could play if manager Neil Warnock opts to rest Akos Buzsaky, who recently returned from a knee injury. MATCH PREVIEW Kenny Jackett helped Queens Park Rangers recover from near financial ruin to win promotion from the third tier. Now the Millwall manager must try to slow his former club's march towards promotion to the Premier League. Jackett was assistant manager during Ian Holloway's eventful spell as Loftus Road boss. The QPR connection does not end there. Jackett's assistant Joe Gallen, whose brother Kevin made more than 350 appearances for the west London club, was Rangers' youth coach until 2007. Under Jackett's guidance, Millwall have done well in their first season back in the Championship but are without a win in five matches, and their slim play-off chances suffered another setback at the weekend when they were beaten 1-0 by another of Jackett's former clubs, Watford. The Lions also recently lost centre-back Dan Shittu, who rejected their offer of an improved contract in favour of a second spell at QPR. Shittu returns to The Den having further improved a back four that boasts the country's best defensive record. Saturday's 1-0 win against Leicester was Rangers' 20th clean sheet this season, and stretched their lead at the top to eight points. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head • Millwall have won 29 and QPR 19 of the previous 67 previous matches between these clubs. • Rangers are unbeaten in nine games against the Lions, who have failed to score in their last two league matches against them, and three of the last four. Millwall • Millwall have won only one of their last seven games. • They have failed to score in their last two. The club has not failed to score in three consecutive league matches since October 2005. • Scott Barron is in line to make his 100th appearance for the Lions. Queens Park Rangers • QPR are unbeaten in 11 Championship matches. • They have conceded only 20 league goals this season - fewer than any other team in England. • Only Bristol City have scored more than one goal against Rangers in 2011. news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_div_1/9415421.stm

21st April 1973 Rangers won at Millwall 1-0 Don Givens scoring the winner. Att:16,212. Phil Parkes played a blinder that day, absolutely brilliant. Running battles on the terracing that day and outside after the game. Some things never change. Millwall applaud Rangers out onto the pitch at the Den for winning promotion back to Division One. (Venables is smiling at Harry Cripps who is giving him stick)

QPR - who will be roared on by a sell-out allocation of 2,200 away supporters - make the trip across the capital in a fine fettle of form. Indeed, Saturday's 1-0 victory over Leicester City was Rangers' sixth in eight npower Championship fixtures, with Neil Warnock's men unbeaten since New Year's Day. Hosts Millwall, meanwhile, have enjoyed an indifferent run of form just lately. The Lions have tasted victory once, drawn twice and lost three of their last six league fixtures. Last time out, Millwall suffered a 1-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, thanks to Danny Graham's 51st minute strike. Pre-match Talk *Neil Warnock - "The form book goes out the window for derby matches. "They gave us a really good game here earlier in the season, but it's a fixture we'll be looking to win, like we do all our matches." *Neil Harris - "Tuesday's game will be another huge challenge. "They're the best team in the league, both on merit and in terms of the squad they've assembled. "They are physical and have some great individuals, but it's a challenge that we look forward to at Millwall."
